Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Merry Christmas!!  May all of you have a joyous and most loved holiday!!  Today ( and everyday) we should give thanks and remember for the reason why we celebrate this wonderful day!!  I wanted to share with you two last Christmas cards!!

I pray for those that are not able to spend this Christmas Day with their families or loved ones - my mind is particularly with the families of Sandy Hook Elementary.  May God comfort and keep them and hold their hearts tight as they try and heal from all the pain that they are dealing with right now.

Finally - thank you to all that follow me and my blog and my crafty journey!  I appreciate you all!!  Happy Holidays!!

LSC #48 - Make It Shine!

Welcome back everyone to another post!  We are two days away from Christmas - and I am ready as I will ever be.  It is time for another Lawnscaping Challenge - and it is the last one for 2012!!  I can't believe we are about to enter into a new year!!  Time flies, people!  :)  For this challenge - its all about making things shine!!  Who doesn't love a pretty card, layout or project that shines!!

I wanted to keep my card simple and let the "shine portion" take center stage.  Here is my card.

This time of year is a great time for couples to get engaged or married - what better than a ring full of bling for my card :)  I used the ring from the Lawn Fawn set Happily Ever After, and added some rhinestones to really make the ring shine!  I used my Uniball Signo Pen in gold to color the ring itself.  I die cut a piece of white card stock from one of my Spellbinders dies and added my ring to the die cut and mounted that with foam adhesive.  My sentiment comes from one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets Grand Greetings and I stamped that using this black ink.  For a final touch - I added some Ranger Perfect Pearl Mist to finish everything off.

Here is a closer look -

What a way to finish off the year with this challenge.  I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Have a 'Sweet' Lawn Fawn Christmas!!

**Before I get to my post - I just want to take the time to express how deeply sad I am about the events that took place last Fri 12-14-12  at Sandy Hook Elementary in CT - my deepest thoughts and prayers are with the children  families that were taken from the world WAY too soon - and the heros that played a part in trying to shield those children from harm.  May you all Rest In Peace!**

Hi all!! We are a week away from celebrating Christmas!  Can you believe it!!  I am not done with shopping either - but luckily I won't be seeing some of my family right at Christmas - so I still have a little time to buy what is left on my list :)  Today, I wanted to share with you a Christmas card I made using my beloved Lawn Fawn stamps :)  If you follow me regularly - you know how much I adore all things Lawn Fawn - and that I feel my stamp collection wouldn't be the same without Lawn Fawn in it.

I love the set Sweet Christmas.  How fun are these images to create your own ginger bread house with the ginger bread men and woman :)

I started with a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than a A2 size card.  I have this peppermint background stamp that just screams to be embossed!!  I stamped out two of the Christmas Trees in a chevron patterned paper.  I then stamped/embossed the gingerbread in white onto kraft card stock and 'fussy' them and then added a bit of color with some of my Memento Markers.  I popped all of those pieces on my white background piece with dimensionals.  For some fun - I stamped out the sentiment in black, green and red for something different instead of straight black onto a die cut piece using one of my Sizzix Framelits from Stampin' Up.  To finish up the card - I added some red grosgrain ribbon with green stitching to "tie" everything together - and mounted my panel onto a piece of kraft card stock.

I am not sure if I will get to post another project for all of you before Christmas - so from me to all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

LSC #47 - COLOR

Hi crafty peeps!  Sorry I have been M.I.A. for a couple of weeks on my blog.  Ya know how things go - you get busy with life, and other things take over!  I've been around though looking at all the wonderful crafty projects in blog land - and wanted to get back into the swing of things.  Today I bring you my entry for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  It is all about color this go round - three colors to be specific - blue, red, and kraft.

Since Valentine's Day products and projects are showing up around blog land - I thought it would be adorable to make to dolphins in love :)  That is why I've named this card dolpIN LOVE.  Maybe cheesy - maybe I am reachin' there a bit on the title - but at least the card came out cute!  I used "Critters in the Sea" and did some reverse stamping.  Reverse stamping can be tricky, but if you practice on it - you will get a pretty good stamped image.  That is why I like doing this technique with Lawn Fawn stamps because their images have a thicker outline.

I used the "swirls" Cuttlebug folder and did heat emboss some waves of water in blue embossing powder.  I made my hoops from a 1 3/8' circle punch and a 1 1/4" circle punch.  For the male dolphin, I used some Peppermint Lawn trimmings to wrap around the hoop, and left the female dolphin's hoop as is in white.  I created my own custom sentiment from "Harold's ABC's".

I wanted to add a heart above the dolphins - and then used my red Sukura glitter pen for something "extra".

To add "kraft" to my card - I just wrapped some "natural" Lawn Trimmings around my sentiment piece.  Hope you all like it and have been inspired!  See you soon!

LSC # 46 - TAGS

Hello crafty peeps!!  Happy Pre-Thanksgiving to all ( United States).  Before the hustle and bustle of traveling, cooking and eating begins, I wanted to get my submission in for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge!!  We get to play with tags this go round.  Now, I will freely admit - I don't create tags as much as I'd like to - it seems my focus is constantly cards - but it feels good every now and then to break away from cards, and do something different!

For my tag - I am trying to get inspired with making Christmas cards, winter-themed cards because it is getting that time of year!  I also thought - I was also inspired by those that have a birthday this time of year (myself included - Dec 3rd)!! - so I thought - how 'bout making a winter-themed birthday tag!!  So - I actually started this tag before I knew what this challenge was all about.  I received in my latest Simon Says Stamp order some of the new Seasonal Distress Stains!  One word - L.O.V.E.!!  I am slowly getting into using these different products that are out of my element, and I am having fun inking up my fingers more than normal!!  hehe!

I first stamped and heat-embossed with silver embossing powder on my manila tag, my Hello, Doily stamp from SU! - such a beautiful image! Then, I used my Ranger Craft Sheet to start the inking process.  I took Peacock Feathers ( my favorite!), Salty Ocean, and Seedless Preserves Distress Stains and mixed all those colors together - this turned out so much better than I thought it would. My favorite technique is the emboss resist technique - so much fun and such great results.  I stamped out my polar bear from Critters in the Snow in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and then some light Copic coloring to give my bear "some" color.  I then stamped out a party hat from Hats off to you, and used some fun washi tape on a scrap piece of card stock and then stamped the same party hat image with Black Staz On Ink since I was stamping on a slick surface like the washi tape. Then I cut out my hat and paper pieced it onto my polar bear.  I stamped out some snow flakes with Colorbox Frost Pigment Ink to give more dimension to my tag.

For my sentiment - I wanted to make a custom sentiment - so I used both Quinn's and Harold's ABC's to make my sentiment - " Have a COOL Birthday!".  I die cut out my sentiment using some Spellbinders dies (sorry I forget the name of these).  I wanted a mat for my white piece - so I traced around the same die and made a nice fitting mat.  The teal card stock was left over from one of the card kits from Simon Says Stamp. To finish things off - I added some StarDust Stickles to my "Cool" part of the sentiment, and Black Diamond Stickles to the top of the party hat.  Added some ribbons to my tag and I was finished.  Here is a closer look of some of the details

I always enjoy participating in this challenges - they extend my creativity so much!!  To my USA followers - Happy Thanksgiving!!!  Make you travel safe and enjoy the time with family and friends!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Thinking of you/Sympathy

I'm still getting crafty - even into the night tonight, and thought I would make a card and enter into the Simon Says Challenge for my first time.  I am actually surprised that I have never entered into this challenge.  I usually buy my crafty goodies from Simon.

I recently bought a stamp set from PaperTrey Ink that I have been eyeing for quite some time - and I "splurged" and bought it with the coordinating dies.  The stamp set is called "The Sweet Life".  This set is gorgeous!!

This set makes any stamper look like they took hours to stamp out these beautiful roses.  I love the multi step  stamps - to me they are so much fun!!  I die cut and stamped out the roses and leaves from this set.  I used  THIS die and die cut a strip of pattern paper from the Sweet Day collection from Echo Park.  I applied my leaves, and roses on my card base - and I popped up the pink and yellow rose for some dimension away from the red rose.  I finally used the Always wood sentiment that came in my SSS October card kit, along with the stamp set - and that is where the "thinking of you" sentiment comes from.

Here is another look at my card -

This is one of my favorites that I've made in a while.  Great timing for this challenge :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #45 - Dust 'em off!

I'm so happy its time for another Lawnscaping Challenge.  For this challenge, it is time to "dust 'em off" - use something in your stash you haven't used in a while.  That wasn't a problem for me at all.  Actually - there are several things in my craft room I haven't even used yet!  Mainly - because they are products that I am not sure of myself with, but you can't get the best use with them if you don't use them.

So - for my card - I used some of my mists and a mask that I hadn't used yet.  I just love this pattern of this mask.  I think overall - my panel came out pretty good.  I love blues and purples.  I used the set "Ornate Ornaments" from Lawn Fawn.  I wanted to keep this card fairly simple in design, because I knew the misted panel would be "busy".

I took the smallest "twinkle" image, and stamped several times in VersaMark Ink, and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder.  I love watching silver embossing powder melt.  Something about it is just so soothing.  I also did the same with my sentiment "Be Merry" from LF set Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum. I die cut a scallop circle from my card panel, and  I popped up both the ornament, and the misted panel off of my card base which is Vintage Creme card stock from PaperTrey Ink.  I added silver Stickles to the ornament to tie in the silver cording at the top.  This marks my first holiday greeting card this season!!

Sweet Stamp Shop NOV. Release

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 2 of Sweet Stamp Shop's Nov Release.  Today, we are taking a sneak peak a overall wonderful set that can be used for all sorts of occasions!!  This set is called "Simple Sentiments".  You should have arrived by me from the lovely Emily.

I wanted to showcase my cards in a simple, but affective way.  You could whip up a set like this in no time.

All I did for these is make an A2 size card from white card stock.  Then I took some layering weight card stock, and made a torn edge, and using various ink colors, I used that torn edge as a mask.  It really makes the card bases pop - and what is so great about this is that it gives it such dimension, but leaving the card a one layer card!.  I stamped in the middle some of the images from Pattern Craze.  I love all of these sentiments, and this is just a taste of what is in the set.  I just love Nicole's hand writing on these!  This is a MUST have set!! It is time for me to sent you on your way to the so oh awesome Laurel!!  Be sure to leave comments along the way for a chance to win these wonderful sets being released this week!!  See you soon!
