Holiday Card Series 2016 | Card #1 | KWCardDesign

Hi and welcome to my first card for my Holiday Card Series for 2016!!  It is crazy that we are thinking about the holiday already!  This year has flown by!!

Today, I wanted to start off my series with this adorable set from Neat and Tangled called Beary Merry.  I also wanted to use some of the wonderful plaid papers from Lawn Fawn.

I started by inking up my images onto a piece of Vintage Cream card stock and using my Mini Misti to get the best possible impressions.  I love my mini Misti - it really has been a great tool to have in my craft room!!

I wanted to use my Copics to color this adorable bear, so I started out by using E43 but didn't like that result, so I switched gears and used E15 as my lightest shade and then used my E 37 to add some contrast and darken up around the edges.

I used R22, R29 and R39 for the main part of the present, and then used BG11 and BG 13 for the bow, and YG 09, YG41 and G02 for the tag.  I used some of the plaid papers from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Christmas and chose a green plaid to paper piece the bear's scarf.

I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangles dies to cut a piece of more plaid pattern paper for the focal panel, and one of the Mini Stitched Scalloped Rectangles from MFT and die cut a piece of my Vintage Cream card stock.

I stamped my sentiment from the same Neat and Tangled set using my MFT Black Hybrid ink, and then placed some foam tape onto my bear as well as the framed pieced.

For the final touches I used my black glaze pen on the bears nose and eyes, and then some Wink of Stella shimmer pen for the bow on the present.

Love this bear!  He was fun to play with!!  Thanks for stopping in for the first card of my HCS!  I will be back soon for Card #2!  Have a great day!!

Multi Colored Metallic Embossed Thank You Card

Hi my friends!
Today, I am here to share this card showcasing the popular set from Right At Home called Grateful Heart.  It has been one that I have used a lot over the past month.  It just has so many different and great images and sentiments for the fall season!

Today, I wanted create a card design with multiple metallic embossing powders, so I created a background using the thank you sentiment first, and stamping it with my Versa Mark ink, and embossing it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I wanted to give a finished edge or border so I used the Holiday Ribbons stamp set to create this look, and I embossed it in Silver embossing powder.

Then, I really wanted to incorporate some Rose Gold embossing powder, so I stamped the pumpkin from the set onto a piece of vellum that I die cut with a cross stitched rectangle die.  I also wanted to give it a distressed edge and bring out more the Rose Gold embossing powder, so I coated the all four edges of my vellum piece and them embossed it with that gorgeous powder.

I die cut my main panel using the rectangle frames from the Find The Beauty die set, and I tape them together to also create a frame.  I also did the same with a piece of pattern paper to compliment the embossing through out my design.

I put all of my pieces together on my A2 white card base, and popped up my frame.

I felt like I need something to finish off my card, so I added a few rose gold, sparkling clear and silver sequins.  And, that completes my card for today!  I love all of the different embossing looks on one card.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Be sure to visit the Right At Home Shop as the awesome Fall and Holiday is now available, AND there are coordinating dies for a lot of the sets for the release available now too!!

Stay Crafty!

Cup of Cheer | Paper Piecing and Copic Coloring| Sunny Studio Stamps

Happy Sunday!!  I took a little blogging break,  but I am back to share a new card tutorial with all of you!  Today, I wanted to play with Sunny Studio and their adorable set called Mug Hugs.  I was wanted to play with this To-Go cup!  It screamed to be paper pieced!

So, that is what I did,  I took a piece of water color card stock, and placed my card stock in my MISTI stamping tool, and inked up these cups, three times to make sure I got a crisp impression.

Then, I made masks for all three cups using some full adhesive post it notes, and covered them up to prepare them for some ink blending.  I wanted a soft back ground, so I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and my Ink blending tool. Once I was happy with my background, I spritzed some water from my Distress Sprayer to create that fun distress look.

I chose three different pattern papers to paper piece my sleeves on my cup and all three patterns came from a different Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pad.

I did color in my cups with some gray markers and I gave them some shadows and also used a Cool Gray marker for the lid.    I need to create some "grounding" for my cups, so I used one of the Stitched Scalloped Edge dies from Lawn Fawn, and I die cut some scrap card stock, and created this additional decorative element to my card design.

My sentiment comes from the same stamp set, and I added some shimmer using my Wink of Stella pen for a final touch. The full video tutorial is below, if you like to see how this card came together! Thanks for stopping by today and have a nice rest of your weekend!
