Humorous birthday

Happy Tues evening my friends.  I'm back this evening to share with you the cute birthday card I had made for my brother for his birthday that was the 11th of May.  I don't get to see my brother, sis in law, and nephews that much.  It has been about 8 months or so since I have seen them last - which makes me sad, but try to let them know that I love them, and think of them often by sending them cards.  My nephews are both in baseball, so that has the whole family busy right now.  My brother is 4 yrs. older than I am, so I have to poke fun that he will ALWAYS be older than me :o)

Here is that card I made him.

I really enjoy using baker's twine right now.  As crafters, I think we all go through phases of different themes, or products to use when we enjoy them so much, and right now mine is baker's twine.  Yummy stuff! :o)
I have recently purchased a butterfly chipboard album, and that is my next "big project".  I am taking a tip from the new Creative Spaces magazine, and turning it into a beautiful banner!!  So be on the look out for that in a future post!

Night Friends!!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge: Graduation

Good Sunday evening everyone.  Hope everyone is having a nice long weekend ( U.S.) for the Memorial Day holiday.  I wanted to share with you another card I am submitting to the CAS-ual Friday challenge.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge last time, that I thought I would do it again.  This week the challenge is to create a clean and simple design for graduation.  You can check out their blog here.  Instead of going with a graduation hat, or diploma - my take on it is a bit different.  You know that feeling we have/had when we graduated from high school or college - you felt on top of the world, and you could anything?  Yeah - that feeling.  :o)  That is what I wanted to portray here.  So- here is my card.....

Wish me luck!! :o)

CAS-ual Friday Challenge

I am new to any of the challenges and found this one through Kelly Marie at Lawn Fawn.  It is over at the CAS-ual Friday's blog - and the challenge is to make clean and simply designs - but with each week having a different challenge to your card. Here is this week's challenge

I am entering for the first time and with this card....

It is fun - and I feel this one I can really sink my teeth into - but it works with my style!!  Wish me luck!!!

For Joplin, MO.

Good evening my friends - Tonight I wanted to make this post about the tornado victims, and survivors in Joplin, MO.  Joplin is only a few hours from where I live - so it really hits home that  that horrific event happened in my "back yard".  My husband and I have friends that live in the Joplin area, but thank goodness they were not directly affected on Sunday night.  There have been so much support, care givers, donations - you name it to help out these people, and I am happy to know that people still have compassion for others these days!  It is hard to find in our society anymore, which is sad!

I'm praying very hard that once all the clean up is finished, that people in the area can start to rebuild their lives quickly.  I also pray for the families that have lost anyone that they love - whether it be a family member, friend, neighbor, co- worker, or pet.  It is mind-boggling that mother nature packs that kind of punch!

I  wanted to close this post tonight by sharing a card of "prayer" with all of you, also.
May the Lord bless and keep all of you!

Trying to get back on track

Hi crafters - Well, I am back this evening to share another card with you all.  Like I mentioned in my last post, my watermark software was acting up, but that is now fixed, and I can get back to posting again.  Tonight I have a fun "thank you" card.  I had a co worker ask that I make her some thank you cards for some of the ladies she works with, and this was one of them.  This particular one I had a certain person in mind.  She loves frogs...so I had the cute idea to create a "lilly pad" from my large heart punch from Stampin' Up.  I embossed it and it gave the lilly pad a lot of dimension.  Also for something different, I had bought several months back some "action wobbles".  They are so different on a card, and it gives it some "action".  You just place the plastic piece on your element, and it makes whatever that element is come to life. It will wobble or shake back and forth.  Very cute.

I did some Copic coloring on the frog, and added some Glossy Accents to the eyes for some dimension there too.

I hope to do another video soon too.  I don't mind doing videos, they are just time consuming, which is it seems I don't have enough of!!

Till next time crafters!!  Be well, and happy!

I'm back......

Hi all!  Sorry it has been a while since I last posted.  My hubby and I were on vacation, and enjoying some down time from work.  We traveled to see my cousin in Chicago.  Since Chris and I are big St. Louis Cardinals fans, we took in a baseball game at Wrigley field.  St. Louis and Chicago have been rivals for a long, long time, so these games are fun to watch.  At least it is a "friendly" rivalary.  So- anyway, we are back getting back into the swing of things.  I wanted to share a card with you today, but my watermark software is not working right now for some reason, so hopefully after I get my husband to check that out for me, I will be able to post a card for you soon.

I bought lots of fun things for my cards, and other possible projects while in Illinois.  I was able to make it to my favorite craft store that is in O'Fallon, Illinois.  They have pretty much everything a card - maker, scrapbooker, or paper crafter could want or need.  If I lived closer, I would go there probably weekly!  The store is Scrapbook Factory, and they have products in every nook and cranney that they can fit.  It is an awesome store!!  I also had the first chance at visiting an IKEA store.  Very different store.  This place is huge!!  If you really look, they have awesome deals.  I picked up a few things.  I knew I couldn't get too much, as my hubby and I brought home a lot of things my cousin gave us already.  It was a great time off.  Back to work I will go tomorrow.  No tellin' what awaits me there....

I will be back soon to share some more cards in the next few days.

Just sayin' thanks!

Happy Tues. evening blog readers-  I'm back this evening to share another card with you.  Tonight I will keep this short, sweet and to the point.  I made several different cards over the weekend, and this was one of them.  I have mentioned before that when I start to make a card, usually I don't have any clue of what I will make, and it always winds up becoming a surprise to even myself.  This one was no different.  I started out stamping the card base with my Flourish background stamp, and off I went.

I love pink and green together.  Those colors are so vibrant, and happy to me.  I wanted to add some fun dimension, so I stamped this flower and added some Copic coloring, and then stamped the image again on my white card stock, and popped up the colored flower on top of the same image.  I added a jewel toned green brad in the middle, and then punch it out with my oval punch.  I thought I needed to add a little "something" in the middle of the card, and that is where the "hand- stiched" ribbon from Hero Arts comes in.  I love this stuff.  It is so simple, but adds such a quick elegant look that I was looking for.

Hope you like!!  I will be back soon for another card share.  I wish you all a good night or afternoon where ever you are in the world!!

I'm so sorry butterfly Card

Hi crafters - It is raining once again here in Missouri. We most certainly do not need any more rain for a while.  We had a couple of rain free days, which helped, but I just know that when we need the rain later in the summer, we won't get any.  Just have to put it in God's hands!  Today, I wanted to share with you a card I made this morning.  I don't have too many "I'm sorry" or "Sympathy" cards on hand, but ever now and then, you need them to express those feelings.  I didn't want it to be too serious - the intention for this one was to express the "sorry" sentiment, but leave it colorful to make the recipient smile.

The butterfly stamp is one from the new cling stamps from Inkadinkado.  I did some Copic coloring on the butterfly.  I also used the Tree background stamp from Hero Arts.  I added a smaller butterfly from the sizzlets die from Stampin' Up.  To make the imaged background pop - I embossed it with one of my cuttlebug
folders, and added some of the new Pom Pom trim in Daffodil Yellow from SU!.  Also on the butterfly's body - I added some Glossy Accents by Ranger for shine and dimension.

Please feel free to leave any questions or comments, as I enjoy hearing from all of you!!  We have another work week upon us.  I must complete some things around my home, and get ready for it.  Then - I will be on vacation for 8 days!!  I am so looking forward to the time off!!  Till next time!!
