Sending Love...

'Tis Saturday - and when I woke up this AM, I had an idea for a card - so I jumped right to it, before it left my creative mind.  So I started out with my Lawn Fawn set You've Got Mail.  I hadn't used this set since buying it - and it was crying out to get inked!!  :o)  So I stamped out the mail box, and some of the envelopes, and did some Copic coloring.    I added the smallest heart from Plus One, and then cut all my images out.  I used a portion of the woodgrain paper from My Mind's Eye - On The Bright Side.  I popped up my  mailbox with dimensional adhesive, and then added my envelopes.

My sentiment comes from the same set from Lawn Fawn - and I embossed it with SCENTED cherry embossing powder from Stampin' Up!!  YES - Scented!!!  How cool is that!!??!!  On the side on my card - I die cut a scalloped envelope from this Sizzix Die.

I punched out some hearts from both my Stampin' Up heart to heart punch, and Martha Stewart cluster heart punch ( not sure what its actually called).  The envelope is die cut from the same paper pack from MME.  I added some bakers twine, and called it done!

Enjoy the weekend!!

Mini Baby Album

Good Afternoon!!  As promised, I am back to share with you my finished mini baby album I made as a request from one of my co workers.  She is about to have another grand baby, a baby girl! She wanted to give something different other than a card, but wanted something handmade.  I am glad that she gave me plenty of time to finish this...about a month to be exact.  The album I purchased is from Maya Road.  If you watch me on YouTube, it was in one of my latest haul videos.  I used various products from various companies for this album, but the more prominent companies used was paper from My Minds Eye Miss Caroline collection, and embellies from Fancy Pants Baby Mine collection.  A few things from Lawn Fawn were used, Stampin Up!, and Paper Smooches.

This is the front of the album.  The stickers for the front of this was actually purchased at Wal-Mart.  You might recognize the set, because I made a baby card using these same stickers, and I knew immediately that I would use them again for this album.

The front sticker is from the Baby Mine collection by Fancy Pants.  Such a cute collection.  Inspires me to have a little one of my own :o)  The first "page" is using papers from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side.  I generated from my computer the basic info you might see in a baby album.

On the other side of the first "page" is a pocket that I had from a pack I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  The person I made this for wanted to have a personal message for her new grand baby, so I thought this would be a cute touch.  The ribbon is white organza ribbon from Stampin' Up!.  I love this ribbon!  The next side is a place where the parents can insert a picture of their new addition :o)  I added some faux stitching for a finish touch.

This is a close up picture of the card all the way out.  The message is on the other side - but didn't want to reveal that without my co workers permission.  :o)

The other side of the second page is another place where they could insert a photo.  The "angel" die cut piece also comes from the Fancy Pants collection.  I figured they could put what ever else they wanted to here.

On the left side of the page, I stamped, colored and cut out this image from Paper Smooches.  This to me, is such an adorable image.  So very sweet!! The dimensional sticker was just from a pack in my stash.  And, finally the back of the album, we have a "reflective" page.  I thought it would be fun to have the baby see herself from this piece that is reflective in a way, that I die cut, and added a banner saying "sweet smile"  The owl die cut piece, another from the Fancy Pants collection.

Last, but not least - the spine of the album - I used some foam pink Thickers, and spelled out, " Heaven Sent".  I added some ribbon trim from Hero Arts to cover up my seam of the paper I cut to fit the binding.

It was a fun challenge for sure.  I sure hope that Sandy likes it!!!  Any questions on anything I used, please feel free to leave a comment or email me, and I will be happy to respond!!  Thanks for stoppin' in!!

Retro Rock!!!

So happy we are through half of the work week!  Even though, I must say, it has went fairly fast.  I am in a new location at work - the office space isn't new - but its new to me.  I have my own space - and I feel like I am the "ruler of my domain".  Whether I am or not - I'd like to think I am.  Anyhoo - getting off track here.  I'm back this "hump day" to share another card with you.  :o)

I am still enjoying playing with my new Lawn Fawn stamps.  My other stamps probably feels neglected!  Thank goodness they don't have feelings!!!  **grin**  I used my new set " Stay Tuned".  I made a "washi tape" background for my radio image.  I received a small Simon Says Stamp haul today - and started playing with my new washi tape, and this is what came of that!!  I am trying new products that I haven't before - and like trying to challenge myself on what to do with those new things.  For the card base - is PTI Pure Poppy card stock, and patterned papers by Echo Park - Happy Days Collection.   I love the retro feel of these papers!!!  So much fun - and pleasing to MY eye at least!    Not sure if you can tell - but I wanted to add a extra something to my radio - so I used a black Sukura glitter pen.  Love these pens!!  To finish the card off, I added some maraschino cherry bakers twine from The Twinery and a button from my stash.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!  I plan on finishing up my baby mini album project this weekend - and I will share that with all of you when that is complete.  I will try and do a video for that - if not lots of pictures!!

Take Care!!

CAS-ual Friday #44

It is CAS-ual Friday time!  This week "It's easy as 1-2-3".  It can't get any more simple that this - create a CAS card with a pattern, image and sentiment!
From last SU! workshop, I had earned one of the hostess sets - Ain't Love Grand.  I loved this set from the time I saw it in the latest catalog.  So happy that I was able to earn it before my SU Demo "retired" from being a demo.  Now, I will be the first to admit, I am not the best when it comes to Copic coloring, because I am still learning, but in my opinion this came out pretty decent.  I punched out my image with 1 3/4" circle punch, and then adhered that to a scallop circle.  Then, from my new Paper Smooches border set Debonair, I stamped that to the bottom of my card base.  I added some trim to complete my border, and added my sentiment " Ain't Love Grand".

This would make a cute card for any newly married couple!  Or that couple keeping the LOVE alive :o)

Thanks for visiting!!

Lily Pad Cards- Virginia's View Challenge # 3

Happy St. Paddy's Day Everyone. **said in my best Irish accent** :o)

Hopefully you are wearing your green where you won't get pinched - Or maybe you do :o)

Today - I wanted to share with you a card I am submitting for the latest Virgina's View Challenge.  It caught my eye with the inspirational photo with all the color!!  You all know I love color!  It makes me happy!  I used my new stamp set from Paper Smooches called Debonair.  I love all three of these images - but the diamond pattern is my favorite.  I just imaged this stamped several times in a border filled with color.  I, then stamped the banner image from Lawn Fawn's Bannerific.  Then I took the I love you sentiment from Say Cheese, and broke up the sentiment to fit the banner.  Since the photo had buttons, I added buttons to the corners to coordinate with my ink colors ( all from Memento ink), and the same with the Bakers Twine from The Twinery.

I am also literally submitting this into the Paper Crafts Magazine Stamping Royalty Contest.  It is one of 4 cards I am submitting.  Ever since I found out about this contest 2 years ago - I've wanted to enter.  As nervous as I am, I wanted to give it a shot.  You never know until you try!

Hope that your weekend is fantastic where ever you are in the world!!  Make it great!!

Tuning In

Helloooo!  How much fun are Lawn Fawn stamps you ask?  They are awesome!  My creativity takes flight it seems when I am working with them.  This card features the new set Stay Tuned.  The sky's the limit with this set.  So much fun.  I like all of the "retro" feeling to these images.

I actually paper pieced this "tube" using papers from Fancy Pants.  I cut out this die cut piece trying to make the TV look like its on a "rug".  I don't know if that effect happened or not, but it does compliment it in my opinion.    We all know that chevron is hot, hot, hot right now - and I though this made a really good background for this card.  I used this stamp from Hero Arts.   For that extra "something", I added some glossy accents.  Hope everyone is having a nice week so far!  :)

Paper Smooches Challenge

It is a beautiful today to be crafty!  Hi all!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!!  I want to share with you my submission to my first Paper Smooches Challenge.  In the last few months I discovered PS stamps, and I love their style.  So cute, and versatile.  I just love their font!!  Very whimsical.

This week the challenge is to create a card being inspired by this photo

For me, sketches and photos are a bit more of a challenge for me to make a card, why I don't know.  There is inspiration all around us, and that certain something will inspire us and off we go, so I am proud of what has come of my project this time.  As I don't have many PS stamps yet ( slowly building them up), I knew this was a challenge in itself.  Luckily - I received my new set Metropolis.  I used the image that looks like fireworks to me, and I created a circle of color.  Goes great with the sentiment, don't you think?!  The sentiment comes from the PS set Word Salad.  The Kraft card base brings out the white doily, and all the color!  Here is another look at my submission

Make today great, and hope everyones weekend is fantastic!!  See you soon!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 29 - sketch

Last minute after checking my Blogger Dashboard - I saw where the next Lawnscaping challenge was up.  So - I got busy and wanted to make a card before I turn in for the night.  This is the first time I have participated in a challenge where there was a sketch.  For some reason, I shy away from those, but thought I should give this one a "whirl".  So - using Lawn Fawn's new set Flying By, I created this card using LF's new paper Bright Side, to give my paper airplanes some fun color.

This new stamp set is fun - and sure to bring lots of smiles to lots of faces, or to cheer some one up!  Thanks for "flying in"!!

Happiness is....Lawn Fawn!

Is everyone excited about all the new Lawn Fawn sets like I am!  I don't think there is a bad set yet they have released - ( not that I am looking for that of course!)  As you can see from my previous post, I received my order from SSS, and my LF goodies all came at once!!  I couldn't wait to see how much creative juices were going to flow with my new sets!! So - I wanted to share with you a card I made with Gnome Sweet Gnome.  I knew I wanted to create a cute lil' scene with the gnomes saying "hi" to one another, so I used the "mirror stamping" technique.  Once you practice this technique a few times - it gets easier.  You can't be in a hurry to do this for sure.

I colored in the gnomes' with my Copic markers, and paper pieced their cute lil' hats.  I also did the same thing with the mushroom house. I also used some of the new LF paper, too - on one of the "hills".  To add little something to the bee's wings, I applied some glossy accents.   This card screams happy to me.  It is whimsical, bright, and full of happiness.  There are more projects coming soon with my other new sets.

I am currently working on a mini baby album as well, and I will share that with all of you real soon when its complete!!  Have a good night everyone!!
