Sparkle and Shine - Mama Elephant Challenge

Hello everyone!  So - I've done something I haven't done in months! I decided to participate in a challenge!!  No DT projects, just play time!  The newest Mama Elephant Challenge is up for November, and I was inspired.  I love Mama Elephant stamps and dies, and I bought the set Winter Wonderland last year, but by the time I was able to get my hands on it, the holidays were over.  This set was super popular, and it was constantly sold out.  So, I decided to ink it up, and let the creative juices flow.  I actually love the end result if I do say so myself!  That is the wonderful thing about creativity - I had NO idea where I was going, and I just looked in my supplies, and once I picked out my dies from Lawn Fawn, then I just sat down, and came up with this card.

I die cut the Stitched Banner dies from Lawn Fawn out of some PTI Stampers Select White card stock.  I die cut both dies at the same time on my white card stock, and created a larger border piece and then the inner piece.  I then started to ink up the outer frame with Iced Spruce Distress Ink, then I moved on to my inner piece.  I punched out a circle with my 1 1/4 circle punch to make a moon mask, and then added the Iced Spruce, Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks.. I love the gradient look that came out of this.   Then I stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink the birch trees and little deer.  I then stamped the star images in VersaMark Ink and embossed in silver embossing powder as well as my sentiment. I also made a border piece from a scrap piece of card stock to match the same silver.  I started to assemble my card by choosing some solid blue paper from the Doodle Bug 6x6 Frosty Friends pad, and adhered my frame to it, and then adhered foam adhesive to my smaller panel for a little dimension.  I adhered the whole panel to my Enchanted Evening card base, and then added my silver strip and some Hero Arts gems to finish things off.

It was so fun to just play and explore what I could come up with for this challenge!!  See you soon!

Lawnscaping FB Inspiration Team MAY Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies! Welcome to another Blog Hop brought to you by the Lawnscaping FB Inspiration Team sponsored by Spectrum Noir.

This month we are inspired by Purples and Cool Grays.  You should have found your way to me by the fun and talented Isha!

Here is my card for this month's hop!

For my card I used the "Dream" mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I first stamped out 3 of the larger feathers and two of the smaller feathers all in VersaMark, and then I coated it in silver embossing powder.  I used my Milwaukee heat tool to heat set the embossing powder, and then it was time to add some pretty purple colors to my background.  I used Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord - and my mini ink blending tool and blended the two colors onto my background.  Once I was done and happy with my results, I used my mini spritzer bottle and sprayed water in my hand and flicked the water with my fingers on my Distressed background to give it some texture. I then added Wink of Stella to my feathers for some shimmer, and stamped my sentiment "You Inspire Me"  from the set Flutter By in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.  I added my main panel to a scalloped frame cut from the Femme Frames by Mama Elephant, and adhered both of those pieces to a Blue Violet card base.  To finish everything off, I added some PPP sequins.

Hope you are enjoying the hop so far!!  It is time for me to send you off sweet Lenny!

See you soon!

LSC #81 Make Your Own Background

Welcome, Welcome to another challenge over at Lawnscaping!  If you joined in our last challenge, hope you had fun seeing all the "mini" projects!!  For you this week it is all about backgrounds, and creating your own!!  There are so many ways to create a background and it will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!!  I also want to mention that we are sponsored by the ever so popular Simon Says Stamp, and they have their new website up and running!!  If you haven't checked it out, its awesome!!  OK - onto my project!

For my card I used three different sets from Lawn Fawn - Hello Sunshine, Happy 4th, and Bannerific.

I started out by die cutting a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow card stock with the scalloped frame from Mama Elephant.  Then I started stamping the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment from Hello Sunshine to create my background using Soft Vanilla Ink from Hero Arts!  LOVE this ink color!  Then, once I was done stamping, I prepped by panel with my powder bag to prevent static  because I heat embossed the firework images from Happy 4th.  I heat embossed them in silver embossing powder - so pretty and it really is a neat effect against that soft vanilla background.  Then, I stamped and die cut one of the banners from Bannerific.  I recently purchased the dies to match, so I was anxious to use them.  I inked up the "Let's Celebrate" sentiment using Pale Tomato ink.  I placed foam adhesive both of the stamped panel and the banner, and all of that went on one of the patterns from the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad.  It gives a slight pattern between the stamped panel and the card base which a piece of Butter Mints card stock from Bazzill - cut and scored to a  create an A2 top folded card.

To finish off my card I wanted to add some sequins - so I used a couple from the Hello Sunshine collection from Lawn Fawn as well as some 4 mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I am addicted to the 4 mm size!

Hope I have inspired you to join in this week's challenge!!  Looking forward to seeing all the fun backgrounds in the gallery!!  Have a great week!

LSC # 79 Try a New Technique

Welcome back to a new Lawnscaping Challenge!  We are focusing on new techniques!  Is there a technique that you haven't tried yet, and wanted to, or haven't?  We'll for this challenge, we want you to try it!

For me - believe it or not, I have never used my dies to emboss before!  I have only used them to do what they were intended...die cut.  I have always wanted to try to emboss with dies - so that is what I did for my card.

I used "Happy Trails" from Lawn Fawn for my card.  I first die cut a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow ( my favorite) card stock using the one of the postage edge frame dies from Simon Says Stamp and I did some Distress Inking on the card stock to create a night sky.  I used Tumbled Glass and a little Chipped Sapphire. I then took a star pattern stencil I have from Studio Calico, and I took my Versa Mark ink, and pressed it onto the stencil to create "sticky stars", and then I heat embossed it using silver embossing powder.  I, then embossed another one of the postage edge frame dies onto a piece of Butter Mints card stock from Bazzill.  I love how it gave it a subtle look.
After that, I worked on my trailer - I stamped, and die cut it out and color it using some of my Copics.  I created my card base which is 5.5 X 4.25 and scored it at the top from a piece of wood grain card stock from Simon Says Stamp, and I adhered both panels to the card base.  I popped up my trailer using foam adhesive, and then I worked on my sentiment which is a piece of vellum, and I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set in Versa Fine Onyx Black ink, and then applied some clear embossing powder since it is a pigment ink, and then I heat set that with my heat gun.  I used a little of Tombo Mono Multi on the end of my vellum, and then I added two enamel dots to finish it off.  Here is a closer look at my embossing with my die.

So - I am looking forward to seeing what techniques are used over at gallery!!  Have fun creating, and I will see you there!

Mama Elephant Color Challenge

**If you are looking for my Pretty Pink Posh Giveaway - please scroll down**

Hi everyone!  I'm posting on the blog today my entry for the Mama Elephant Challenge!  YEP! That's right Mama Elephant is doing challenges now!  So exciting.  I really do love their stamps and dies!  They are quickly becoming a favorite company of mine!

Here's my take on this challenge -

This was a great time for me to use some of these stamps that I haven't inked up yet!!  I used the set Lights Out, and I also used the oh so loved by me Femme Frames!  I stamped one of these adorable light bulbs in Bubble Gum Ink from HA, and then used the inside of the bulb using the heart image stamped in Raspberry Jam ink also from HA.  I stamped the bottom part of the bulb in Espresso Truffle Memento ink, and then stamped the little chain in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it in Silver embossing powder.  It is a little tough to decipher that here.
I chose the sentiment " I will feel a glow just thinking of you" and carefully inked it up in Raspberry Jam and then in the rest in Versa Fine Black ink by masking it off in parts.  Then, I randomly stamped some hearts found in the new Pandamonium set in the same inks, and also heat embossed in silver the larger hearts.
My pattern paper background panel is an older MME 6x6 pad called "Love ME".  To finish the card off, I HAD to use some Wink of Stella *wink* to my heart in my light bulb to give it that shimmery glow.

So fun!  I plan on doing these challenges again....because Mama Elephants stamps are fun!!

See you soon!
