New Monthly Feature : SSS Card Kit Tutorials - JAN. 2015

Hi everyone!!  I wanted to incorporate a new feature over here at my blog and on my YouTube Channel that will be monthly.  I have been a subscriber of the Simon Says Stamp Card Kits ever since they began about two or three years ago.  The best part I think when becoming a subscriber of this kit in particular is you can "opt out" of the current month's kit that is up if you are not interested, and pick back up the next month.

I am starting off this feature with January's Kit.  Although this kit put together is sold out - you can still get elements individually :)  The papers in particular for this month's kit are so awesome!  The color scheme is right up my alley!!  So - here is the card I made using this kit.  I will try to share with you two cards a month - but definitely one.

I did use a few elements that were not included in the kit, like the dies and the enamel dots/gems, but most of the items used did come from this kit.  Below is the video tutorial as well!!  It is my first voice over tutorial, and I'll tell ya, I couldn't be happier!  I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and now I can!!  I hope you enjoy!!  See you soon!!

Hello ( no stamping ) + video

Hellllloooo :)  I wanted to pop in quickly to share with you my latest card tutorial.  No stamping was involved!  I need to use up some pattern papers that I have laying around with scraps that I have accumulated as well as some out of the SSS card kits that I get each month ( most of the time), so I've used some of the pattern papers from the Aug. kit from SSS, as well as a word die from Technique Tues.  If you are interested, I have the supplies that I used for this card linked below!!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  See you all tomorrow!  A new Lawnscaping Challenge starts tomorrow :)

Hi all!!  First let me say it has been a rough and an emotional few months - Sadly - my father in law passed away two weeks ago - so needless to say I've had to focus on my family lately, but with anything - life does go on, and we have to move on and live life.  So - I am glad to be back on the blog.  OK- with that said -

Happy World Card Making Day!!!  For Card Makers, this day is a happy one.  To be quite honest - I really haven't had the opportunity to celebrate this day the way I'd like since I've become a card maker.  However, I enjoy looking at all the inspiration and excitement for this day around blog land!!  It makes me happy that I involved with such a happy hobby!!  There are so many wonderful people in the crafting community, and I have made some wonderful friends along the way!!  I hope to meet some of them in person one day! So -

Hello, Just Because

It feels so great to be in the craft room this evening!!  I don't know what it is, but I don't get to sit down and create as much as I'd like to!  I am finally getting to play with my SSS August Card Kit ( which is sold out - sorry to those that might have been interested) Good news is though - there are some of the products in the kit that are sold individually and are available for purchase!

This kit is such a great one too!  Well, all of the SSS kits usually are - and this one is no exception!!

Most of the items you see on this card were used from the kit, however the die cut leaves are from a die and stamps from PTI, the "Just Because" comes from "Handwritten Sentiments" from SSS, and the green card stock was just a piece that was from my scraps.  I love these colors together!  So happy!

You can never have enough "Hello" or "Just Because" cards!  I always like to have them on hand - and I want them to make who ever receives them smile!  I think this will be one of those cards :)

Thanks for stopping in!!

I like your style!!

Gosh, does it feel like forever since I have posted anything or what?!  So sorry everyone that I haven't posted all that much lately.  You know us crafter's - we get into a rut, and sometimes its hard to get out of it. I have spend a lot of time in my craft room - just not creating all that much.  I have been organizing mainly. When I do post - its been for Lawnscaping as I need to get my projects done for them.

Well- I hope I am slowly coming back to crafty life!  Today, I am revisiting some of my Simon Say Stamp card kits.  I spend the money on these and need to get my money's worth instead of them just sitting in the zip lock bags they are stored in.

Today's card is from the Feb. 2013 card kit.  I don't believe you can purchase this entire kit as a whole now - but I am sure you can get some of the supplies individually - like this stamp set.

I really don't create too much of the vintage look - but I liked how this one turned out.  I stamped the two designs of the dresses onto some of the patterned paper from the kit, and fussy cut them out.  I stamped the "hanger" image and them paper pieced the dressed onto the hangers.

I am really trying to use supplies and tools in my craft room that get neglected and not always use the newer stuff.  With all of the new CHA product coming to stores soon - it will be hard to not go crazy and  buy everything under the sun - so my goal is to only buy what I KNOW I will use!

Hope to be back soon with you again to share another project soon!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Thinking of you/Sympathy

I'm still getting crafty - even into the night tonight, and thought I would make a card and enter into the Simon Says Challenge for my first time.  I am actually surprised that I have never entered into this challenge.  I usually buy my crafty goodies from Simon.

I recently bought a stamp set from PaperTrey Ink that I have been eyeing for quite some time - and I "splurged" and bought it with the coordinating dies.  The stamp set is called "The Sweet Life".  This set is gorgeous!!

This set makes any stamper look like they took hours to stamp out these beautiful roses.  I love the multi step  stamps - to me they are so much fun!!  I die cut and stamped out the roses and leaves from this set.  I used  THIS die and die cut a strip of pattern paper from the Sweet Day collection from Echo Park.  I applied my leaves, and roses on my card base - and I popped up the pink and yellow rose for some dimension away from the red rose.  I finally used the Always wood sentiment that came in my SSS October card kit, along with the stamp set - and that is where the "thinking of you" sentiment comes from.

Here is another look at my card -

This is one of my favorites that I've made in a while.  Great timing for this challenge :)
