Holiday Card Series 2017 | Card #5

Hi Friends!  I am sharing today with you Card #5 in my HCS - I know, I have skipped  Cards 2-4, but you can easily see those cards and their videos by visiting my Youtube Channel here.  And, frankly I've forgotten to write up a blog post for those cards as well, and I wanted to catch up quickly, so I though this would be the quickest way.

Today's card showcases the popular Holiday Style set from Sunny Studio released last year.  I wanted to get it back out today since I didn't get to use it much last year and it is just a fantastic set!!

I also love the look of Kraft and white!  Such a classic look!  And, I love the added pop of color with the red ornament!

This ornament is so easy to stamp!  I know some have a hard time with layered stamping, but this set is a very easy one to line up!

I heat embossed the white branches with white pigment ink from Simon and white embossing powder from Hero Arts.  And, then I used the coordinating die to die cut them out.  On the background, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Wood Grain die to give some extra texture.

I thought the edges of my Kraft card stock panel could use "something" so I took a sponge dauber and inked all around with Walnut ink from Lawn Fawn and that really gave it that finished look.  For the ornament I used the Floral ink cube set from Altnew and I used the Coral Berry and Ruby Red to stamp the layered images of the ornament.

For the sentiment I used the Season's Greetings die from Simon, and die cut some kraft and silver sparkle card stock and stacked them one on top of another to create a dimensional layered sentiment and it really helps for it to pop off of the kraft.

I have both the video and the supply list below.  Thanks for stopping by today, and I will be back soon with Card #6!

Right at Home Shop | Peace On Earth

Hello all! Hope you are having a great week so far!! We are nearing to the weekend and that also means my birthday!!  This month the DT for Right at Home shop has been featuring a different stamp each week from the Holiday Release.  This week we are focusing on the sentiment stamp set Magic of the Season.

To start my card, I die cut a piece of kraft card stock from a stitched scallop rectangle die to create a small focal panel.  I took the stamp set Holiday Ribbons and I stamped one of the patterns to create "faux ribbons" on my panel.  I took the "x" pattern first and I heat embossed it in gold embossing powder, followed by stamping the diamond strip on top with Lobster ink.  Next, I stamped my sentiment Peace on Earth, but I wanted to stamp it in a stacked pattern in the middle in Pine Needles ink.  To stamp my sentiment, I carefully inked up the sentiment one word at a time, and there was enough space in between to use my small ink cube to ink of the sentiment.

For an extra touch, I stamped the berries and branch images from Bits and Pieces: Winter since I had just enough space to fit those in on the right and left of the word " On" in my sentiment.

I wanted to create a background to stand out from my focal point, so I took another piece of kraft card stock, and prepped it with my powder tool, and inked up the Gingham Background with white pigment ink, and then applied some detail white embossing powder to really make the white background pop!  I then added a strip of green striped washi tape from my stash and added it to the middle to bring out more of the green in my sentiment, and then took one of the stitched frame dies from the Find the Beauty die set, and die cut my panel so it would have the stitched detail all the way around.

For assembly of my card, I added some foam tape to my focal panel, and adhered it to my embossed background piece, and then added that to a top fold A2 size kraft card base. For a final small touch, I added a bit of shimmer to my berries with my Wink of Stella shimmer pen.

Thank you all for stopping in today, and remember to head over the Right At Home Shop to find these sets I used today and many others!! Have a great day!

Thank you So Much using Memento Luxe Inks

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great week so far!! Today, I am back to share with you another card I made JUST for the fun of crafting!  I get so caught up in doing just DT work that I forget to post projects that I make just for the love of this fun hobby!

I created this card for my Director at work.  We've had some tough times at the hospital where I work, and she did a nice thing for my dept. in recognition of our hard work and dedication.  So - I wanted to make a Thank you card for us to sign to show our appreciation of her nice gesture.  I used SSS stamp set Flower Friend, and stamped the flowers in some of the newest colors that I have picked up of the Memento Luxe Inks.
I am usually not one that goes to pigment inks that much other than white because they take longer to dry - and I am an inpatient stamper :)  But, something about these particular ones just make you want to gravitate towards them.  It is probably their vivid colors!!  So much fun!
Something else that I am gravitating towards a lot lately in my card making process is the Femme Frames Dies from Mama Elephant!  I love, love, love these dies!  You see them both used here - the scalloped frame, and the stitched frame.  They are perfection for cards!

Hope you will come back to join me tomorrow for another card share!

See you soon!

A Quick Hello

It is a beautiful Sunday where I am, and I just wanted to pop in and share a card with you I made last night.  Have you ever had the feeling that your mojo isn't there - but if you do something simple, or use a product that you've bought and haven't used yet, it would get your juices flowing??  Well, last night I knew I wanted to make something, but didn't want to start a big project.  So, I decided to use my newest dies I bought from PaperTrey Ink's latest release called - Quick Stitch Sentiments.  Having some stitching on any project just kicks it up a notch, and for me, I don't sew really - so these dies are perfect for me.  It makes it look like I know what I am doing when it comes to stitching or sewing - but really just remembering some of the things my grandmother taught me back when I was little.

I used some variegated floss from We R Memory Keepers and this floss has an ombre' look to it - very in right now!!  I used some pattern papers from this paper pack from Lawn Fawn.  This sentiment also comes from PaperTrey Ink from this set.  I adhered my panel with foam adhesive to a Kraft Card base, and to finish this simple card off - I added a butterfly dimensional sticker from The Paper Studio that I had in my stash.

Hope you like this card - and it inspires you in some way!  Have a nice rest of the weekend!!

Have a 'Sweet' Lawn Fawn Christmas!!

**Before I get to my post - I just want to take the time to express how deeply sad I am about the events that took place last Fri 12-14-12  at Sandy Hook Elementary in CT - my deepest thoughts and prayers are with the children  families that were taken from the world WAY too soon - and the heros that played a part in trying to shield those children from harm.  May you all Rest In Peace!**

Hi all!! We are a week away from celebrating Christmas!  Can you believe it!!  I am not done with shopping either - but luckily I won't be seeing some of my family right at Christmas - so I still have a little time to buy what is left on my list :)  Today, I wanted to share with you a Christmas card I made using my beloved Lawn Fawn stamps :)  If you follow me regularly - you know how much I adore all things Lawn Fawn - and that I feel my stamp collection wouldn't be the same without Lawn Fawn in it.

I love the set Sweet Christmas.  How fun are these images to create your own ginger bread house with the ginger bread men and woman :)

I started with a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than a A2 size card.  I have this peppermint background stamp that just screams to be embossed!!  I stamped out two of the Christmas Trees in a chevron patterned paper.  I then stamped/embossed the gingerbread in white onto kraft card stock and 'fussy' them and then added a bit of color with some of my Memento Markers.  I popped all of those pieces on my white background piece with dimensionals.  For some fun - I stamped out the sentiment in black, green and red for something different instead of straight black onto a die cut piece using one of my Sizzix Framelits from Stampin' Up.  To finish up the card - I added some red grosgrain ribbon with green stitching to "tie" everything together - and mounted my panel onto a piece of kraft card stock.

I am not sure if I will get to post another project for all of you before Christmas - so from me to all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge # 67 - Banners/Flags

Good Evening my friends - I wanted to share with you my submission for the latest CFC - Banners and Flags.  I haven't played with CAS-ual Fridays in several weeks - and thought this would be a fun one!!  I will just get right into it.  I used my Stampin' Up Mini Banner Framelits to die cut out several different pattern papers from the Echo Park Sweet Day 6 x 6 pad.

I adhered all of my banners to a piece of Kraft card stock and, then I dry embossed the whole panel with my Herringbone embossing folder.  It gives the effect that the banners are already in the kraft card stock!!  Love this look.  I made my own custom sentiment with some Hero Arts Micro White Letters.  I did use my Copic marker in Prawn R24.  I used dimensionals to adhere my sentiment to my card panel, and then adhered that to my SSS 120 lb. card base.

Here is closer look at the embossing.

This card would be a great card for a student, since school is just starting!!  It would be a great encouragement card to keep them motivated through the upcoming school year!!

Have a great remainder of the weekend!!!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge: Krafts-men (2nd Submission)

Happy 4th, America!!  I am taking advantage today of my freedom by doing some crafting!!  How I love being creative!  I wanted to share with you another card I am submitting for CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  This is the first time I am submitting two cards - but I just had to as I had an awesome idea for a masculine card and putting it on yummy Kraft card stock!!  Check it out dude ( and dude "ettes") teehee.

I had bought this adorable bus stamp at Hobby Lobby in one of the sale bins - and I don't get to use it too often - in fact I think this is twice I have used it.  It is adorable, and I was moving some of my stamps around this morning, and thought I should make another card with this cute thing, and away I went!!  I stamped the image on some patterned paper from the Lauderdale 6x6 pad from Basic Grey.  I cut out my image, and for the windows, I carefully cut the centers out, and added some vellum card stock for the "window" look.  I added two brads to the wheels.  I stamped some clouds, and heat embossed them with white embossing powder, and added some paper from that same stack for the "grass/hill".  I popped up my bus with pop dots, and added my greeting, which I made typed up myself on my computer.  Clean and simple - that's the name of the game!!
