One Layer Celebrate Card | Neat & Tangled

Happy NEW YEAR everyone!  Today, I thought I would celebrate 2017 with a quick card using the Celebrate stamp set from Neat and Tangled as well as the Happy 4th from Lawn Fawn.  I think the firework images as well as this sentiment pairs well together!

I wanted to make a one layer card, but with lots of color, so to achieve this I did some masking of the sentiment, and I stamped the fireworks with some Memento Luxe Pigment inks.  I haven't used these inks in quite some time, and wanted to use them today!

I added some extra sparkle to my sentiment by heat embossing with some Shimmering Pearl embossing powder from Tonic/Nuvo.

For additional details, I have the video tutorial for you below as well as the product list!

Happy New Year once again, and I will return soon with a new project!

Colorful Stamping on Kraft Card Stock | One Layer Card

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope all of you that celebrate has had a wonderful day with the one you love...even if you are single...its good to love yourself!!

I wanted to share with you on how to stamp with colorful inks onto kraft card stock!  I love the look of kraft - but it is hard to achieve colorful stamping just with the inks alone.  So, I wanted to revisit an oldie but a goodie technique.

With this tutorial, I also created a one layer card, which can be difficult at times too.  We all love to add dimension and pretty embellishments to our cards, but it is good to have one layer cards as they are easy to mail!

Below is my tutorial on this card!!

I love how this masked off technique also gives the illusion of dimension without having dimension at all!!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the stamp set I used on the Stamps of Life website as it was a special thank you set for being a club member. But you could use any flower sets you may have to achieve the same look!  Enjoy the tutorial

One Layer Sentiment Stamping

Happy Saturday crafty friends!!  Today I am sharing a one layer card that features sentiment stamping for the background!  I purchased the Mama Elephant set Tiny Heros and hadn't inked it up yet - so I wanted to do something a little different this go 'round with my stamps.  So - I chose two of the sentiments to use as my background for the sentiment stamping, and two colors of Memento Ink -Lady Bug and Cantaloupe.  I created a 5 x 5 square card base, and I die cut an oval from a Stampin Up Ovals die set from some Inkadinkado Masking paper - and placed that as much in the upper center of my card base as possible.  Then, I just started inking up my sentiments, and starting stamping.

Once I was done with my stamping, I took some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and inked around the edges of my mask paper to really define the edge, so when I removed my masking paper, it would give it some fun dimension even though this was a one layer card.

I then stamped one of the kid images from the same stamp set with my MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink, and colored in the mask part and star.  I really wanted to highlight those images to represent our "Super, awesome" this girl was!  It was hard to not color in the entire image.  I really wanted to do something different.

I have the video tutorial below in case you wanted to see how I made this card from start to finish.

Enjoy your weekend, and I'll be back soon!! Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Lawnscaping Challenge #89 One Layer

And, so here we are!  The 1st of September!  My, my time is scootin' along fast!  I am back to share with you my card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge!  We are challenging you to make a one layer creation!!

Before I get into my card, I want to let you all know that we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!  And, just in time for their fun month long Stamptember event!!  Whoo hoo!!  You could be a winner of a $25 dollar gift certificate!

So, I wanted to ink up some of my new stamps of Lawn Fawn's release since I received them last week!  One of those I was dying to ink up was Argyle Backdrops!  This will be one of those I will go to again and again!  I inked it up using Hero Arts Shadow inks in Green Hills and Tide Pool.  Once I was done with my background, I took the large speech bubble die from the Large Stitched Journaling Card die set and die cut in the middle of my card.  Then I stamped the 'You're Awesome' sentiment from So Much to Say stamp set in MFT  Hybrid Black Licorice ink.  I added some finishing touches to my card by stamping a few stars, adding a faux stitching around the speech bubble to make it stand out more, and of course a little shimmer to my stars using my Wink of Stella glitter marker.  I also rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper using the 3/8" round.

I hope you are able to join us for this fun new challenge!! Can't wait to see the gallery on this one!!  And, be sure to check back on with Lawnscaping on our Facebook page as the Inspiration Team will be there to give you more inspiration along the way!

See you soon!

LSC # 63 One Layer

YAY! It's time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge. It's all about creating a one layer card this go round!!  What?? One layer?  It seems doing one layer cards can be a challenge - which is true - but I feel if you think about how you would create dimension one others ways like masking - or doing even CAS cards - you've achieved the goal of mastering a one layer card!!

Here is my card for this week's challenge!  I actually enjoy the thinking process of what I will create when making a one layer card.  For this card - I started out by masking off a section of my card base with some masking paper on a diagonal and then I grabbed some of my favorite Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, and Chipped Sapphire and blended them little by little all over my card base.  When I finished I just sprayed some water in my hand from my mini mister and flicked the water onto the card to create the water droplet effect since these inks are awesome when reacting with water.
I then took the "glow" circle image from Summertime Charm and stamped it randomly all over the card base - I even did stamped off once after inking my stamp and interlocked some of the circles.

I carefully removed my mask ( this is when the magic happens!!) and then I stamped my sentiment Grand Greetings.  I like the overall look to my card!!  Hope you do as well!!

Be sure to head over to the blog and feast your eyes on all of the awesome creativity from the DT, and keep your eyes open to FB as my teamies and I bring you additional inspiration through out the two weeks of the challenge!!

You'll want to join us in the challenge as there is a $25 gift certificate is up for grabs from the ever awesome Simon Says Stamp!!  See ya over at the blog and FB!! :)
