Lawnscaping FIT Team FEB 2015 Blog Hop

Hi gang!!  Welcome back to my blog and another Lawnscaping FIT Blog Hop!  We are happy to bring you another hop inspired by another create color/color combo!  Since this is heart month - it is only fitting that our inspiration color is RED!  Before I get to my card and all the details of it, first you should have found your way to me by my teamie Isha!  No doubt I am sure she had something fabulous for you to "ooooo and awwww" over!  Also - we are happy to have our fun and awesome sponsor The Ink Road!  Lara also has a blog HERE!

OK - now onto my contribution for the hop!!

I wanted to keep my card fairly simple in design!  The more I kept creating this card, I kept adding more elements to it!  I guess my creative slump is hopefully coming to an end then!  I used the stamp sets "Bannerific" "Happy Fourth" and "Argyle Backdrops" to create my card.  I had the scallop frame already die cut left over from a previous project, and thought I would put it to good use on this card.  I also had the red card stock panel sized down from my stash, and I used it as my focal panel, so I stamped the stitching stamp from Argyle Backdrops and embossed it with some Pewter embossing powder!!  Love watching this embossing powder melt!  So fun! I, then die cut out of some vellum one of the banners from "Bannerific" and stamped from "Happy Fourth" the Let's Celebrate sentiment and also embossed that in the same embossing powder. I adhered that to my red card stock panel with some vellum adhesive. Then I put all of my elements of my card together onto my True Black card base.  I added my scalloped frame first with Ranger Multi Medium in the matte finish and then I popped up my main panel for some dimension to my card.  I then die cut some hearts from the Small Journaling card die set and I added them to my card, and applied some White irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to my hearts to make them stand out!  I also added that Pico Embellisher to my banner as well.

Well, that's it from me!!  It is time for me to send you off to Miss Lenny!!  Be sure to leave comments along the way for your chance to win a gift certificate to The Ink Road online store!!

See you all soon!!  Enjoy the rest of your hop!

Lawnscaping Challenge #100 Birthday Celebration

Hi all!! Welcome back to a new challenge is going on over at Lawnscaping, and it is a special one!!  Lawnscaping is celebrating their 100th challenge!!  I know everyone that is involved with Lawnscaping is excited to see this challenge, especially the founder, the awesome Laurel!  It couldn't have come this far with out you!!!  The participants!!  And, for that we thank all of you!!
I like all of us on both design teams started out as a participant and I couldn't wait to create my next card with each new challenge!!  I am so thankful and fortunate to have been on the FIT team going on 2 years!

So - we are celebrating this new challenge with a birthday theme!!

I wanted to make a bright a cheerful card to go along with the birthday/celebration theme!!  So - I used Lawn Fawn's "Hello Sunshine" stamp set.  I also used the Spring Showers dies, for my cloud and sun :)  I tried my hand at coloring my birds in a multi -colored way, and I gotta say, I am pretty happy with the results!!  I used my Copic markers to achieve this look :)  I stamped my wire line from the stamp set and then stamped out my birds, and stamped my birds again onto some white card stock, and I colored in each bird in a different color combination.  Once I was finished with the coloring, I fussy cut out the birds except their little feet of course, and paper pieced them onto my main panel.  I did the same for my balloon, except I stamped my balloon in Hot Lips ink, and then fussy cut that out and placed foam adhesive on the back and adhered to my panel for some dimension.    I added some irRESISTtible Pico Embellisher in clear for the balloon and black on the birds eyes to make them pop.

Our sponsor for this awesome challenge and milestone is no one other than Lawn Fawn!!  Hope you are able to join us for this celebration!!  We can't wait to see YOUR project in the gallery!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #99: Clean and Simple

Hi everyone!!  Gosh - I simply can't believe we are introducing a new challenge already....time is flyin!!  So - its all about being Clean and Simple for this challenge!  And, we are happy to have our sponsor Ellen Hutson!!

Clean and Simple cards are not my strong suit, I'll be honest, but that is why it is called Lawnscaping CHALLEGE - to challenge us...even us on the design teams :)

I used the set from Lawn Fawn called #Awesome for my card.  I am obsessed with Instagram, and so I wanted to make something with this cute little "Instagram-esk" camera.  I simply stamped it out in HA Cup O' Joe ink and carefully colored it in with Copics and this ink is not usually friendly with Copics.  I cut it out with the coordinating die and set it aside as I did a little more stamping on my white card base.  I stamped the star background from Teeny Tiny Backdrops with Soft Vanilla ink from HA and then stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set in Memento Espresso Truffle ink.  I added some foam dimensionals to my camera and popped up my card and finished the card off by using my Corner Chomper and I rounded the edges.

I hope you are able to make a clean and simple project and ink it up for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Ellen Hutson!!

See you soon!!

So - now onto my card :)

For my card, I created a shaker!  I first started out stamping out my background with Argyle Backdrops from Lawn Fawn onto a piece of white card stock.  I love this background builder stamp, and who doesn't like Argyle.  It is a great pattern to use for masculine cards. I love the contrast between these two blue ink colors.  Once I was done inking up my background, I die cut my panel out using the largest die from the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die set, and also created a window using the next to last size in the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackable set. Then, I worked on the inside panel of the shaker.  I stamped onto a piece of blue card stock using the So Much To Say stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped it in white pigment ink, and then applied white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the powder.  Then, I added a piece of acetate to my window and then some foam adhesive around the window.  I did double up on my foam adhesive to ensure that my seed beads would shake freely :)  Once I added my beads, I adhered my shaker panel to my white card base.
I felt I needed just a little something extra as it felt too plain, so I die cut out two stars from the Star Stackables from Lawn Fawn.  I inked up a polka dot background stamp and stamped the pattern down onto my white start, and then added my smaller star on top and finished it off by adding a bit of shimmer with my Wink of Stella Pen ( even though its hard to capture here.  Well - that's it from me - now its time to send you off to the one and only Lenny!!  Be sure to leave comments for your chance to win a gift certificate from our new and awesome sponsor!!

And, here is the blog hop order!

LSC #98 Create a Background with stamps

Hi all!!  Welcome to another challenge for Lawnscaping!!  This challenge focuses on creating a background with your stamps.  So - its time to look at those stamps a bit differently and stretch them to a new level!!  For this challenge our sponsor is the one and only - Lawn Fawn!!  Have you seen there upcoming release!!  WOW!!  Can't wait to get my hands on these fun new goodies!

Back to challenge talk!!  Here is my card I created!

So I wanted to ink this cute set Whale you be mine? And, I wanted to use the coordinating dies.  So, I used the sentiment and the little heart in this set to create my background. I inked up the heart in Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink and the sentiment in Soft Vanilla ink.  I love this whole color combo! So fun and cheery. I die cut a piece of white card stock from the Stitched Journaling Card Die, and created my background, and then I stamped my whales, and colored them in with Copics.  I also created some water for them out of vellum.  I didn't want my stamped background to be covered up too much, that is why I chose vellum.  I also used a B02 Copic to color my vellum and I used one of the Stitched Scallop Border Dies and created my waves for my water piece.  I adhered all my pieces onto the stamped panel, and added some Lemon Lawn Trimmings. And, my card base is a Mermaid Lawn Fawndamentals note card.

So cute!  Loved how it turned out.  Hope you are able to join us for this new challenge!! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!  See you soon!

New Monthly Feature : SSS Card Kit Tutorials - JAN. 2015

Hi everyone!!  I wanted to incorporate a new feature over here at my blog and on my YouTube Channel that will be monthly.  I have been a subscriber of the Simon Says Stamp Card Kits ever since they began about two or three years ago.  The best part I think when becoming a subscriber of this kit in particular is you can "opt out" of the current month's kit that is up if you are not interested, and pick back up the next month.

I am starting off this feature with January's Kit.  Although this kit put together is sold out - you can still get elements individually :)  The papers in particular for this month's kit are so awesome!  The color scheme is right up my alley!!  So - here is the card I made using this kit.  I will try to share with you two cards a month - but definitely one.

I did use a few elements that were not included in the kit, like the dies and the enamel dots/gems, but most of the items used did come from this kit.  Below is the video tutorial as well!!  It is my first voice over tutorial, and I'll tell ya, I couldn't be happier!  I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and now I can!!  I hope you enjoy!!  See you soon!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #97 - Winter Themed

Hellloooo!!  Happy New Year!  Welcome to a New Year, and a new challenge for Lawnscaping for 2015!!  Can you believe it!  The new year is already going so fast!  We are already 5 days in!!  With a new challenge, also comes a NEW SPONSOR!  We are happy to have Ellen Hutson, LLC as our new sponsor for this challenge and many to come this year!

Since we are officially in Winter, we are doing a Winter Themed Challenge this go 'round.

And, here is my card to share with you!

I decided to use Winter Fox for my focal point.  I think this is one of very few times if at all that I have inked up this cutie!  I know, crazy huh!?  I used some pattern papers from Bo Bunny, to accent this beautiful fox.  I stamped "her" down onto a piece of my favorite white card stock - PTI Stamper's Select White CS and I colored her in with a few Copic Markers.  I paper- pieced the coffee mug to match the background to make it stand out a bit more.  I also added some Wink of Stella to add just a bit of something "extra" to my images as well.

I love the whole color scheme!  I hope you are able to join us for this new challenge for your chance to win a gift certificate from our awesome new sponsor!!

Stay warm like Miss Winter Fox, and I'll see you soon!!

Lawnscaping FIT Team DECEMBER Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to the final Lawnscaping FIT Team Monthly Blog Hop for 2014!  This month we are focusing and inspired by Greens and Turquoise colors!!  Thank you to Spectrum Noir for sponsoring this hop once again!!  You should have found your way to me by Isha, who is super talented!!

Here is my card for this hop!  I wanted to make something simple, but was colorful.  I chose the stamp set "Wish You Were Here" and what a perfect way to represent these colors than this stamp set.  I chose the globe image.  I wanted to have fun and do something different than just coloring in the image.  So I chose to use two colors of embossing powders - both from WOW!

I die cut a piece of PTI Stampers Select white card stock ( my favorite) and used the circle stitched die from Simon Says Stamp.  Then, I inked up my globe image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Usually when I emboss, I use my VersaMark Ink, but I really couldn't do that for what I wanted to do, so the next best thing is the VersaMarkER - I color in the areas I wanted blue, added the blue embossing powder, heat to set with my Milwaukee Heat Tool,  and then moved on to the green areas and repeated the same process.  I set my main panel aside, and worked on my card base which is the same white card stock.  I wanted a subtle background and I absolutely love the Tiny Star background from Hero Arts.  I inked it up in Wet Cement ink from Hero Arts.  Then, I worked on my sentiment - I masked off "World" because I wanted it in green, and inked up the rest of the sentiment in my VersaFine Black ink, stamped it down, then masked off the other parts of the sentiment except "World" and stamped in in Green Hills ink, also from Hero Arts.  I wanted it to stand out a bit more, so I took my Copic Multi Liner and outlined it, and it really made it pop!  It was time to add my main focal point, so I added some foam adhesive and adhered it to my card base.

So Fun, and colorful too!!  Now, its time for me to send you off to Lenny - I am sure she has something awesome in store as well!!  Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win some products from Spectrum Noir!!  Take care and see you in the New Year!!

LSC #96 Merry Christmas!

Hi all!!  We are nearing to Christmas inch by inch!  It has come so fast!!  It is Lawnscaping's last challenge before Christmas, so I hope that where ever you are in the world - you feel the magic and the reason for the season!

OK - so here is my card for this challenge!

I used the fun set "Love you A Latte" from Lawn Fawn.  I recently purchased the dies for this set as I didn't have them already - so I used them today.  I stamped and die cut all my pieces.  I added color using my Copic Markers and set them aside.  I die cut a tag from "Winter Gifts" and I stamped the border with VersaMark and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  I wanted it to go nicely with my die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. For a little extra "something", I took my R24 Copic Marker and colored in the border to make it pop and to give it a bit of contrast against my pattern paper.  These little images from "Love you A Latte" are so cute, and the little faces just add to the cuteness.

I added all my pieces onto my tag, as well as my die cut sentiment, and adhered it to my pattern paper from the Snow Day 6x6 from Lawn Fawn. I liked the " you warm my heart" in the bottom right corner to this design - it paired nicely with the warm mug :)  I added a bit of wink of stella to my candy cane and the "steam", and added a little bit of ribbon to the top of my tag.  You can see a close up of the shimmer above.
A big shout out of love to our sponsor  - Lawn Fawn!  They always bring out the creativity in their stamps and dies! Be sure to link up your project for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate!!

Happy Holidays everyone!!!
