3 CARDS | 1 6x6 PAPER PAD | Winter Wonderland by Simple Stories

Hey all!  I'm here to share with you that I am kicking off a new series on my #youtube channel called 3 CARDS 1 6x6 PAPER PAD.  I will feature a different 6x6 paper pad, and make three different cards with that same pad.  I wanted to do this series to use my pattern papers more, but also give ideas on how to use up those dreaded scraps we all have!

I won't be doing this as a back to back series, but more rather a once or twice a month thing on my channel.

For this set of cards I feature Simple Stories Winter Wonderland.  I love these papers and the color combination.  I also love the fact that they incorporate smaller patterns to create tags, and elements you could use on your cards as a sentiment and focal panel without having to use stamps if you didn't want to.

I show you how to do this very thing on Card #1 in this video!

For all the details on how I put these cards together, I invite you to watch the video!  All the supplies are listed below :)

Thanks for stopping by!!  See you soon!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #104 - Sketch

Hi Lawnscaping Fans!
We are entering into a new challenge over at Lawnscaping, and we are testing your skills by working with a sketch.  I will tell you right up front.  I felt like I've never been good at sketches, but it is a good challenge, and really push my creativity.  Annnndd, we have an awesome sponsor - the one and only Lawn Fawn!! The winner of this challenge will get a $25 dollar gift certificate and a fun badge to display on their blog!!  WHOO HOO!

My card, I kept it pretty simple - I took the star from the sketch and ran with it....I wanted a star themed card to go with the sketch.  I used papers from the BeachSide 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn, and I picked three colors with the star background.  LOVE this paper!  I also used my Stitched Rectangles dies to create the rectangle shapes on my card base.  I used a star background stamp also on my Fog card base, and stamped the background to create a tone on tone effect.  I used the stamp set Lucky Stars for my sentiment, and I heat embossed it in some Pewter embossing powder.  Love this stuff too!  SO pretty.

And, check out that sparkle on that star.  I took one of the wood veneer stars from Lawn Fawn and altered it by embossing it with some black sparkle embossing powder.  When it is embossed, it doesn't look black at all, but it gives such beautiful sparkle!!  I am glad my camera captured it!!

I hope you are able to play along with us!! Thanks for stopping by!!

It's my birthday!! Be Merry and Bright!

Hello lovelies!
I wanted to pop in today quickly and share with you one of the cards I had the chance to create this weekend during the long Thanksgiving holiday!

Today is my birthday - I am ....thirty - flooaghoahd - HAHA!  Seriously - I am turning 37 today! WOW! Where DOES the time go??

I've been blessed with numerous happy birthday wishes and love from my family and friends.  I feel blessed!

I am really liking this trend where you create "wonky" panels on cards - its different and fun!  So - I wanted to make my own creation this way.  I took some pattern papers from the "Bundle Up" Collection from Crate Paper - LOVE this paper!! I die cut it from the scallop frame from Mama Elephant - Femme Frames - again - I'm obsessed!!
I adhered my die cut panel to some Simon Says Stamp Wood grain card stock which is my base.  I die cut a banner from the small banners die also from Simon Says Stamp, and I stamped and heat embossed  " & Bright" from the Merry and Bright greeting that comes in the Small Folded Banners Holiday stamp set from SSS.  I love the wood elements that SSS came out with last year and I had some left over, so I used the "Merry" to complete my sentiment. To finish off my card, I just added some fun sequin embellishments from Lawn Fawn.

Well - gonna wrap this up and go celebrate as if were my birthday :) *grin*

N. L. Champions - St. Louis Cardinals!! + GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone - today is bit of a different post than I normally do, but I just wanted to share my excitement on how proud I am to be a St. Louis Cardinals fan!!  Last night we clinched our 19th NL pennant!  We are going to the World Series!!  YAY!!

I also wanted to share with you a card that I initially did not intend to post on my blog - but it is a special card to me, and I will explain why, but first here is the card - again I did not intend to share this card officially so I do not have a "professional" picture - but you will get the idea :)

The reason why this card is so special to me is because I specifically made this for my father in law for Father's Day this past June.  Tomorrow ( the 20th ) will mark one month since he passed away.  Mike was a die hard Cardinals fan, and he passed that love for baseball and the Cardinals onto his son, my husband, and him to me - this card was buried with my father in law - so it will remain with him forever.  I feel this card is one of my best - it represents to us more than just a card.

Also - the reason I love this card is because I used some of my favorite Lawn Cuts dies from Lawn Fawn - the Star Stackables, and the Quinn's ABC's dies.

I am proud to be a Cardinals fan!!  Just Sayin' :)

I also wanted add before I go that my GIVEAWAY is still going on - so you have plenty of time to get your comment in to be eligible for your chance to win - just head over to THIS post and just leave a comment!!

See you soon!
