Lawn Fawn Day 5 with Christy Gets Crafty Collab!

Hi friends and welcome to Day 5 and my final day of  Lawn Fawn Week!!  I can't believe it has gone by already!  Today I have a special collab with Christy Gets Crafty ( Christy Reuling ) - she is one of my best friends and crafty friends and I am I so happy she decided to do this with me!  I will have her video linked below if you would also like to check it out!

For today's card - I wanted to do something a little different for me.  I wanted to achieve two things on my card - a monochromatic look, and I wanted to get out my colored pencils.  I haven't used them in LONG time!

For our collab - the theme was to use a new set along with an older set from LF.  I used Our Friendship Grows as my old set ( it is one of my all time favs ) and Easter Party for my new set.  I started out by creating my background onto a piece of kraft card stock.  I stamped in Versamark the flowers from Our Friendship Grows, and I heat embossed them with Rose Gold Embossing Powder from LF.  Then, I wanted to add some white highlights.  I started out using my white gel pen, but then I pulled out my white colored pencil, and that is when I made the decision to color in my girl with the pencils too!

I love how she turned out, and I got the itch to play with my colored pencils more!!  Sometime I'd like to invest in some of the Faber Castell PolyChromos pencils too.  Once I was happy with my colored image, I die cut it out with the matching die, and also a white piece of cardstock using one of the Everyday Banners, and I stamped out my sentiment from Simply Sentiments.  I added my girl to my banner with liquid adhesive, and added some foam adhesive all over the back of this entire piece.  I die cut my background with one of the Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and then I adhere my main panel to to another piece of kraft card stock.
For the inside, I stamped out the largest flower from Our Friendship Grows in Doe ink, and another sentiment from Simply Sentiments in Plastic Flamingo ink.

Well - that's it!!  This is a wrap on Lawn Fawn Week.  I still have the giveaways going on - so if you havent' checked out that video - I encourage you to.  Thank you so much again for Christy to join me for this collab!!

Hi and welcome to an excited day!  We are celebration Christy from ChristyGetsCrafty as she has surpassed 10 K subscribers on her Youtube channel!  She has asked a few of us to help her celebrate this wonderful milestone, and I am so happy to be apart of this celebration today!

She has put together an awesome line up of talented card makers, and wonderful sponsors to give YOU the chance to win during the hop!

Just be sure to hop along and leave a comment on all  of the participants to be eligible to win the fabulous prizes up for grabs!  Remember - if you don't comment, you won't have the chance to win!  And, its free!  WOOT!

Christy asked us to create a celebratory card, so I did just that, and I used a lot of Lawn Fawn products as she loves Lawn Fawn as well as one other stamp set from WPlus9 whom she also loves!

I created my own custom background with the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment and stamped that onto a piece of Fog card stock from Simon Says Stamp using the Manatee ink from Lawn Fawn.  I decided I wanted to cut a circle element from my panel, so I also took a piece of Peacock card stock from Lawn Fawn and created a framed panel to allow my Fog panel to stand out more.

I stamped out one of my favorite bird images from Lawn Fawn, and did some very simple coloring with a few Copic markers, and then die cut him out using the coordinating die.  I also used the Scripty Congrats Die from Lawn Fawn and used the same Peacock card stock and well as a piece of black card stock as I will adhere both of these die cuts together, and the black with create a drop shadow effect.  I did add some shimmer to the die cuts before adhering them together as that was easier.

Then I just put all of my elements together onto my white card base which is an A2 size card - 4.25 x 5.5

I am the last stop on today's hop, so be sure to find out more details about the hop, including the sponsors and prizes up for grabs, be sure to head over to Christy's blog!!

Congratulations again Christy!  You deserve 10K and more!

Card Collab with Christy from Christy Gets Crafty

Hi everyone!!  I have a fun and special post and video to share with all of you.  My sweetest and dear friend Christy from Christy Gets Crafty and I came together to do a card collaboration.  We used the stamp stamp set and color combination.  She chose the stamp set Gleeful Gardens from Lawn Fawn and I chose the color combination that we used.  I chose it from Pinterest.

I think these two combos worked well together!!  I got brave and decided to do some water coloring for my card.  When I saw the color combo picture, I immediately thought of water color.  So - that is what I tried my hand at.  I started die cutting my water color card stock from Tim Holtz with the largest of the Small Stitched Square frame dies from Lawn Fawn, and then I prepped my card stock with my embossing buddy powder bag for embossing.  I embossed all of my images with my Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, and heat set it with my heat tool.  Then, I used 5 Distress Ink colors to do my water coloring - Evergreen Bough, Worn Lipstick, Old Paper, Gathered Twigs, and Shabby Shutters.  If you watch the video you will see I had a lot of area to cover, but I think the end result turned out pretty well!  Once I was done with the water coloring, I sprayed my piece with Mister Huey's Shine Spray Mist and it gave it something extra and it didn't look so flat.  I then prepared the rest of my elements by die cutting a piece of pattern paper from an older 6x6 pad I had.  I used the Neopolitan 6x6 from Dear Lizzy. I die cut it using the Large Stitched Square frame and I created my card base from a piece of Butter Mints card stock.  I cut it down to 10 x 5 and scored it at 5 inches to create a square card. I adhered my pieces together and called it done!

I enjoyed doing this collab with Christy.  She is a dear friend and such an amazing talent!!  I am a lucky gal to have her in my life and as a friend!!

Please go check out her card HERE for this collaboration and there you will have a link to her video as well!!!

See you all soon!!
