Thinking Of You Today

Good Sunday to you all!  Hope everyone's weekend has been a good one!  Today, I wanted to get a little crafty time in, and pulled out some supplies that I don't use often, but still love!  I have THIS Sizzix and Hero Arts Stamp and Die set that I think is the prettiest out of all of these sets ( IMO) - and wanted to break it out as I don't use it often enough.

I also don't use my Copics all that often.  I am not a big person on coloring, but I do like to do it every now and then.  I stamped the biggest butterfly and flower images of the set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored the images using RV34, RV19, BG13, BG15, YG63, and G05.  Then, I used the coordinating Sizzix dies and die cut the images ( which is the most fun part for me!).  I, then cut down a piece of Hawaiian Shores from PTI, and scored and folded to a standard A2 size card.  I, then pulled out some wood grain patterned washi I had that is about the same color and added to my card base to give a bit of interest and pattern to my card.  My sentiment also comes from the PTI set We Go Together.  To finish off the card - I just added some glitter using my Wink Of Stella pen.

Here is a closer look at the glitter goodness -

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Hello, there!

Wow, the weekends go by super fast!!  Just when I am getting into a relaxed frame of mind - its back at it again for the work week!!  Oh well, that's life isn't it?

Stopping in to share with you a quick card - for this CAS card, I used one of my favorite stamps from Neat and Tangled.  This one is the Ink Splash.

This look is so hot right now - and I love how you can stamp this look and it looks so REAL!  I love the "controlled chaos" when it comes to the ink splatter look on my cards :)

I stamped it in my two favorite ink colors - both by Hero Arts - Pale Tomato and Tide Pool.  Then, I stamped my sentiment that comes from the Hey Day Sentiments also from Hero Arts.  Then, to finish off this card I added a few pearls and gems.

Hope your weekend was a great one!!  See ya back here soon!

PDCC #173- Color Splash

Happy Sunday!  Today is St. Paddy's Day which is a day a day filled with green, but today I am playing with The Play Date Cafe this week that is about a splash of CORAL.  I received some new goodies from Simon Says Stamp, and wanted to play with them, and thought this would be a good opportunity to "break" them in :)

I used one of SSS's new Spring Releases called  Circle Friends along with the coordinating die.  I used some  PTI white card stock - and inked up my polka dot stamp first in Versa Fine Onyx Black ink and stamped that on my card base, then inked it up in Hero Arts Pale Tomato, and stamped that also on my card base and then added my sentiment in Versa Fine Onyx Black Ink.  Then I took my die and die cut my white card panel, and added some foam adhesive to pop it up on my card base.  I added some washi tape and a button to bring everything together.  This set is so fun to play with, and the die makes it easy to pull it all together.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  See you right back here soon!

CAS-ual Friday - #71 Fall Fun

Hope all of you are having a good Monday - I won't even go into the Monday I am having - so I will digress and share with all of you my project for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  You can tell around my area that fall is here - the cooler temps, the turning of the leaves - my favorite time of the year.  So - it was fun to create this fall themed card!

I started out with a 4.25 square piece of Vintage Cream card stock from PTI - and used my Hero Arts Woodgrain background stamp to add texture to my card stock.  I stamped out some leaves from Stampin' Up cling set called "Gently Falling" - this is actually a two step stamp set - but I just used the outlined portion.  I stamped out all of my leaves onto pattern paper that I purchased from Michael's that is a 6 x 6 pad from AC.  I then "fussy cut" out all of the leaves.   I added some pretty Glitter tape from AC as well as some Perfect Pearls Mists for some shine and shimmer to my fall card.  My sentiment comes from a Lawn Fawn set called Many Thanks.  The stamp is actually one line - but I stamped it out into a two lined sentiment.  I punched that out with a Stampin Up punch - I forget the name of this punch ( sorry).

Here is a close up of the shimmer if you can see it.

Are the fall colors turning where you live????  It would be fun to capture that in pictures :)

LSC #41 - Sketch

Hello my blog readers - Today, I wanted to share with you my entry for the latest LSC.  It is based on a sketch - and I will tell you right now - for some reason - I am not very confident in my creativity when it comes to the sketches for some reason. You would think it would be pretty simple - but leave it to me to make it difficult for myself.  Anyhoo - for my card for the challenge - I am pretty happy with the result.

My card base is the beloved Hero Arts Kraft note cards I love so much ( that I am hoarding as much as possible).  They are hard to find in stores or online - this pack come with the note cards and envelopes.  I started with a washi tape back ground scene ( love this washi tape), and then added the scalloped border at the bottom.  I had some POW glitter paper, and used my Fiskars Cloud punches to punch out some clouds. I then stamped out my airplane from Lawn Fawn's Bon Voyage - and paper - pieced it with some papers from Basic Grey What's Up 6 x 6 pad.  I popped up my airplane with dimensionals,  then stamped out my sentiment from Grand Greetings from Lawn Fawn.

I just might send this card to my cousin that lives in the Chicago Area - she is a pilot for United Airlines - this would be perfect for her!!

Here is the sketch that I had to follow -

See what you can come up with!!  :)

CAS-ual Friday Challenge # 67 - Banners/Flags

Good Evening my friends - I wanted to share with you my submission for the latest CFC - Banners and Flags.  I haven't played with CAS-ual Fridays in several weeks - and thought this would be a fun one!!  I will just get right into it.  I used my Stampin' Up Mini Banner Framelits to die cut out several different pattern papers from the Echo Park Sweet Day 6 x 6 pad.

I adhered all of my banners to a piece of Kraft card stock and, then I dry embossed the whole panel with my Herringbone embossing folder.  It gives the effect that the banners are already in the kraft card stock!!  Love this look.  I made my own custom sentiment with some Hero Arts Micro White Letters.  I did use my Copic marker in Prawn R24.  I used dimensionals to adhere my sentiment to my card panel, and then adhered that to my SSS 120 lb. card base.

Here is closer look at the embossing.

This card would be a great card for a student, since school is just starting!!  It would be a great encouragement card to keep them motivated through the upcoming school year!!

Have a great remainder of the weekend!!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 37 - Use Dimension

Happy Sunday my friends!! It is time for another LSC - and its all about dimension on your project!  Dimension is so much fun, because it makes your card/ or page come alive!  For my card, I used LF set You've Got Mail.  I stamped out two postcard images - one for the postcard itself, and one to represent an envelope. I used some Old Paper Distress Ink to make them look vintage,  and then added some text from my Newspaper Background stamp from Hero Arts.  I added some fun air mail washi to my postcard!  Loved this washi tape when I saw it on Etsy. :)  I added some paper from the new line from Kaiser Craft - Check -IN to my card base.

I used SU dimensionals for my first layer ( my envelope), and then some pop dots from AC for the second layer.  For another fun element, I used a mini paper clip.  This one was a fun one for me.  They all are though really - who am I kidding :)  It is suppose to be fun!  :)

See you soon!!

Miss You!

Hi blog readers.  Sorry I have been sporadic with with my posts lately.  So much going on with life, that its hard to keep up sometimes. Today I wanted to pop in and share with you a card I made for a dear friend, and co-worker who is leaving and taking a new job.  I will miss my friend so much not being able to see her everyday - but I know this opportunity will benefit her in so many ways - so for that, I am happy for her!

Here is my card....

I used the new Summer Seasonal Distress Inks, and added some Dylusions Pure Sunshine ink spray and blended it all together on my Ranger craft sheet - and liberally sprayed some water onto the ink - and "mopped" it up with some watercolor paper.  I loved how this rainbow of colors turned out.  I used my Blossom punch from SU! to punch out my flower.  I used THIS punch, and some blue glitter tape from AC to add something extra to this long note card from HA.  I love these cards, because they come with envelopes!!  I added my sentiment using some Thickers, and finished it off with some faux stitching.

I believe my friend will love this card.  She was and still is so supportive with my card making.  I'm so happy to call her a dear friend!!

Good For You!

Well, I thought I would share with all of you just a card I made for a friend/co worker.  It has been a while since I have shared a card that wasn't made for a challenge blog - and I need to get back into doing that.  After all - I didn't start doing this hobby just for challenge blogs - I did it because I enjoy making cards for all occasions.  So - this card features the stamps by  Hero Arts - You're the Best.  I wanted to make it simple, but elegant.  I used my own ribbon for the tails - to make it seem a bit more realistic.  I made this over a month ago - so I apologize, but I am not sure which papers I used for this card.  I did emboss the card base - and I added some gems to "glam" it up a bit.

The recipient of this card got her Masters in Nursing.  She is such an awesome girl.  She has worked so hard for a very long time.  Congrats, Amy!!

Be back soon!!

ABNH- Topsy Turvy Challenge#3

Good Sunday afternoon!!  I am sharing with all of you today my first submission to ABNH ( A Blog Named Hero) for the Topsy Turvy Challenge.  Use a sentiment as something other than a sentiment.  So - I was looking through all of my Hero Arts stamp sets - and saw a rainbow - and it clicked in my head!!  Make a rainbow using different sentiments!!  This was so much fun to create!!  I love color - and rainbows!!

So I took sentiments from these Hero Arts sets - "Sky's the Limit", and "Friends".  All my inks are Memento ink colors.  I love Memento as you all know!  When I got the the bottom of my rainbow - I didn't have a sentiment that was short enough to curve around to finish off the rainbow - so  I saw the "moon" image on the "Sky's the Limit" set - and though perfect!!

This was a fun challenge!  I look forward to all the creativity that comes out of this one!!  Everyone get crafty and see what you can do with it!!  :o)

** On a side note** - I am on vacation all this week from work - and I'm so happy to have the time off to enjoy some crafty time, and just the break in general!

Take Care!!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge : Sketch

Good Monday Evening to you all - I just finished making my submission for this week's CFC. This week is a sketch we had to follow.  I played around with a couple of ideas - and then my eye's met all of my Ranger Blending Tools for my Distress Inks - and thought - "hmmm - I could do something different with those".  So - I picked to bright Distress Inks - Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed, inked up each of my blending tools really well, and applied the ink straight down.  No blending - nothing - so it would take on the shape of that blending tool.

Then, I cut out the middle of the two rectangles and thought of my sentiment I was using.  I thought having little twinkling stars went well with my sentiment from Hero Arts.  It is hard to tell, but I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to my stars.  I popped up my card panel from my card base for dimension - and I edged my panel with Black Soot Distress Ink to make it pop against my card base.

That concludes my take on this challenge!  See you on the flip side :o)

CAS challenge - Opposites Attract

It's that time again to show you my submission for this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Opposites Attract.  Like most of us I love color!! So, this week we had to choose to opposite colors on the color wheel for our CAS projects.  I choose yellow and purple! I started out by stamping my houndstooth pattern from my Paper Smooches set Debonair.  I just love this set!  It is awesome, people!!  I stamped one in Grape Jelly Memento Ink, and the other in Dandelion Memento Ink.  I love the coverage that these inks give me on photopolymer stamps.

Then I picked some paper flowers from my stash that were yellow and purple, and added black in the middle to compliment my sentiment, which comes from HA set Sky's The Limit.  I popped up my card panel on foam adhesive, and called it done.  I love the contrast of these two colors.  I hope it makes you smile, like it does me!!

Stay Inspired my friends!!  Be back soon!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Name That Tune

So I made it through another Monday!!  YAY!!  Hope the rest of the week goes as smooth as today did.  I couldn't wait to get home and make my submission for this week's CFC - Name That Tune.  Make CAS card inspired by a song.  Since Lionel Richie recently came out with an album of his greatest hits with a country flair - it brought to my mind one of my favorite songs of his - "Stuck on You".  I have loved this song since I was a child.  It brings back so many wonderful memories of my mom putting his albums on while cleaning the house - and I would sing along!  Good Times :o)  So - I that song inspired me for my idea for this weeks challenge.

I had some really cute alpha stamps that I hadn't used yet by Inkadinkado - and I inked up most of the alphas in Versa Mark and inked up my Hero Arts Kraft note card.  For the letter "U" - I wanted it to stand out - and so I inked it up in Lady Bug Red Memento Ink.  My letters I applied to some vellum card stock, and to enhance the red letter "U", I added strips of red card stock.  I did some faux stitching with my Uniball Signo Broad White gel pen.  Hope this card inspires you to listen to some Lionel!  :o)

See you soon!!
