One Layer Sentiment Stamping

Happy Saturday crafty friends!!  Today I am sharing a one layer card that features sentiment stamping for the background!  I purchased the Mama Elephant set Tiny Heros and hadn't inked it up yet - so I wanted to do something a little different this go 'round with my stamps.  So - I chose two of the sentiments to use as my background for the sentiment stamping, and two colors of Memento Ink -Lady Bug and Cantaloupe.  I created a 5 x 5 square card base, and I die cut an oval from a Stampin Up Ovals die set from some Inkadinkado Masking paper - and placed that as much in the upper center of my card base as possible.  Then, I just started inking up my sentiments, and starting stamping.

Once I was done with my stamping, I took some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and inked around the edges of my mask paper to really define the edge, so when I removed my masking paper, it would give it some fun dimension even though this was a one layer card.

I then stamped one of the kid images from the same stamp set with my MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink, and colored in the mask part and star.  I really wanted to highlight those images to represent our "Super, awesome" this girl was!  It was hard to not color in the entire image.  I really wanted to do something different.

I have the video tutorial below in case you wanted to see how I made this card from start to finish.

Enjoy your weekend, and I'll be back soon!! Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Name That Tune

So I made it through another Monday!!  YAY!!  Hope the rest of the week goes as smooth as today did.  I couldn't wait to get home and make my submission for this week's CFC - Name That Tune.  Make CAS card inspired by a song.  Since Lionel Richie recently came out with an album of his greatest hits with a country flair - it brought to my mind one of my favorite songs of his - "Stuck on You".  I have loved this song since I was a child.  It brings back so many wonderful memories of my mom putting his albums on while cleaning the house - and I would sing along!  Good Times :o)  So - I that song inspired me for my idea for this weeks challenge.

I had some really cute alpha stamps that I hadn't used yet by Inkadinkado - and I inked up most of the alphas in Versa Mark and inked up my Hero Arts Kraft note card.  For the letter "U" - I wanted it to stand out - and so I inked it up in Lady Bug Red Memento Ink.  My letters I applied to some vellum card stock, and to enhance the red letter "U", I added strips of red card stock.  I did some faux stitching with my Uniball Signo Broad White gel pen.  Hope this card inspires you to listen to some Lionel!  :o)

See you soon!!

Friendships

I'm back to share with you another card.  It is a beautiful Sunday afternoon - and since I had some time - I wanted to share with you a card I made on Thurs. evening for a friend/coworker of mine.  I have some very supportive friends - and I always want to show them that I appreciate not only their friendship,  but their confidence in me with my crafting.

This card features this mini stamp set from  Inkadinkado.  I thought it was very cute - and knew I could make some cute cards with it.

I used "Pure Poppy" card stock from PTI for my card base.  I also found this 6 X 6 paper pad at Tues. Morning ( not KMart ) and used one of these patterns to mat on my card base.  It really complimented everything with the image - and brought it all together.

I added some silver brads for the "headlights" for a little fun, and then added some twine from SU, and a button from a button pack I had from Making Memories.

I thought it turned out cute and fun.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone - and I will  meet you back here soon!

Stay inspired!
