Valentine's Day Shaker Card | Zig Clean Color Markers | Neat & Tangled

Hi Friends~

Today I wanted to share with you this shaker card featuring Neat and Tangled's stamp set Favorite Little Nut.  This is an adorable set and perfect for Valentine's Day.  You could also use this set all year long too!!

I love these illustrations by Elena Roussakis!  She's got such a fun and sweet style to her images and love the fonts also that she creates with her sentiments!

For my squirrel I decided to color with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  These are great to achieve a fast water color look to your images!

I also stamped several times one of the acorn images, and created my own shaker bits to add inside the window, along with some die cut hearts.  My red panel is a piece of Pure Poppy card stock from PaperTrey Ink.  This red is one of my favorites!  I die cut my card stock with a stitched rectangle die from Mama Elephant and created my window using MFT's Peek a boo window die.

I added two layers of foam adhesive to ensure my shaker elements would move around well.  Before putting together my shaker card, on the front of the focal panel, I stamped my sentiment from the same Neat and Tangled set, You Are My Favorite!

Once I was happy with how that stamped, I put my shaker card all together.  I wanted to add a bit more silver into my card to tie in my shaker bits, so I die cut a piece of MFT silver sparkle card stock with one of my Hero Arts Infinity Dies.  Love this set!!  So handy to have!

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the same set, I am nuts for you, which I felt appropriate for my shaker theme.

Thank you all for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones and friends!

Holiday Card Series| Day 1| KWCardDesign

My my...its been a while since I last posted anything to my blog - my apologies!  Life just happens, ya know! You should be seeing more frequency over here - I am starting my Holiday Card Series for 2015!!

Today's card is using the Simon Says Stamp/Lawn Fawn exclusive stamp set Merry Christmouse.  Unfortunately, this set is sold out - it was only available during Simon Says Stamp Stamptember event - but I couldn't resist using this set for my first installment!!

I feel I kept it simple with the design - but I feel it turned out really cute too!!  I did a little of everything, stamping, coloring and die cutting.  I started out stamping the cute image of the mouse in the stocking onto a piece of white PTI Stampers Select White CS, and used MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink.  I did some simply Copic coloring of my image.  All of the markers, and other supplies that I used for this card I listed/linked below the video tutorial.

Once I was happy with the coloring - I did some die cutting - I used the Small Stitched Rectangles Dies from LF as well as a Stitched  Circle die from SSS and I die cut from a piece of New Leaf CS from Papertrey ink.  I also die cut a scalloped rectangle from LF and die cut a piece of Schoolhouse Red CS from SSS.  For my green card stock piece, I wanted to add a bit of interest, so I used the cheese present image, and stamped it using Green Hills ink from Hero Arts and created a random pattern all over. Then I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set using the same black ink as before.  I then placed foam adhesive on the back of my panel, and adhered it to my red scalloped piece.  I then adhered my circle piece, and for the final touch I added some clear wink of stella to add some shimmer.

Super cute to mass produce and it really wouldn't take long to crank out a few of these!!

Thanks for stopping by for Day 1!  Hope you come back for Day 2!!  See you then!

Thinking Of You Today

Good Sunday to you all!  Hope everyone's weekend has been a good one!  Today, I wanted to get a little crafty time in, and pulled out some supplies that I don't use often, but still love!  I have THIS Sizzix and Hero Arts Stamp and Die set that I think is the prettiest out of all of these sets ( IMO) - and wanted to break it out as I don't use it often enough.

I also don't use my Copics all that often.  I am not a big person on coloring, but I do like to do it every now and then.  I stamped the biggest butterfly and flower images of the set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored the images using RV34, RV19, BG13, BG15, YG63, and G05.  Then, I used the coordinating Sizzix dies and die cut the images ( which is the most fun part for me!).  I, then cut down a piece of Hawaiian Shores from PTI, and scored and folded to a standard A2 size card.  I, then pulled out some wood grain patterned washi I had that is about the same color and added to my card base to give a bit of interest and pattern to my card.  My sentiment also comes from the PTI set We Go Together.  To finish off the card - I just added some glitter using my Wink Of Stella pen.

Here is a closer look at the glitter goodness -

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

You Totally Rock!

Happy Sunday to you all!  Back to share with you another card project.  Whew!  Two cards shares back to back!!  That's unheard of for me - especially lately!  I actually created this card last weekend, but I am just now able to blog about it and share with you.

This card features a new die I recently purchased from Papertrey Ink called Rainbow Stripes Die.  This die is so much fun and you could do so much with it!  The possibilities are endless!  I die cut with the die twice using Kraft card stock and  Wax Lips (red) card stock from Bazzill Card Shoppe card stock.  I also die cut using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Star Stackables from some silver POW glitter paper by American Crafts. To me, this is the best way to have the glitter look and there is no fuss or mess - the glitter will not come off!  Love it!  I stamped my sentiment "You Totally Rock" that come from the stamp set  "For The Record" from Simon Says Stamp.

It seems pretty much all my cards have this teal color incorporated somewhere!  I am obsessed with this color!!  To finish off my card - I added a few enamel dots and some faux stitching.

Hope your weekend has been great!  Thanks for taking time out to visit today!

Hello, Just Because

It feels so great to be in the craft room this evening!!  I don't know what it is, but I don't get to sit down and create as much as I'd like to!  I am finally getting to play with my SSS August Card Kit ( which is sold out - sorry to those that might have been interested) Good news is though - there are some of the products in the kit that are sold individually and are available for purchase!

This kit is such a great one too!  Well, all of the SSS kits usually are - and this one is no exception!!

Most of the items you see on this card were used from the kit, however the die cut leaves are from a die and stamps from PTI, the "Just Because" comes from "Handwritten Sentiments" from SSS, and the green card stock was just a piece that was from my scraps.  I love these colors together!  So happy!

You can never have enough "Hello" or "Just Because" cards!  I always like to have them on hand - and I want them to make who ever receives them smile!  I think this will be one of those cards :)

Thanks for stopping in!!

Hello, Sunshine! ( LSC # 59 - coloring)

I'mmmm back!! Today I wanted to share with you my submission for...yep...you guessed it - the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  I will freely admit - I don't feel I am the best at coloring - but I sure do give it my best shot!

I really do love the "sun rays" look on cards and layouts, and I really hadn't created anything like it yet - so I thought I would break out some supplies that I bought intending to do this look.  I used a PTI die called " Beautiful Beads" - it is intended to help make your own jewelry, but I am using it for my "rays".  I used papers for Lawn Fawn's 6x6 Pink Lemonade collection.  I also die cut from some sookwang adhesive sheet a zig zag circle from this die set from Sizzix.  I then applied some Stardust glitter to give my circle some sparkle and I burnished it onto the circle. I adhered all the pieces of patterned paper onto my card base, then applied my glittered circle.

I then colored the card base around the sun rays with Copic Marker B21 to make it look more like a sky.  I stamped the "hen" from "Critters on the Farm" from Lawn Fawn twice, once on the middle circle, then again onto white cardstock to give it some color and to pop it up to give it dimension on the card.  I then stamped one of the banners from "Bannerific" and stamped out a custom sentiment using "Harold's ABC's"

Here is a closer look.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Hope you all have a great weekend!!
