Hi! Welcome back to my blog - today I am following up with my Lawn Fawn Dye Ink Review to talk about the Black ink in this line. I promised I would do a separate video comparing the black ink with others that I own and how it "stacks" up on how it stamps, the coverage, and how it performs when using alcohol markers.
Again, I am doing this is video form as I felt it was easier to cover more info that way in a short amount of time.
I have the video below, and just in case you missed my initial review of the other colors in the line from Lawn Fawn, I will have that video as well!! So - how do you think Lawn Fawn compared to the other black inks??
Happy Saturday crafty friends!! Today I am sharing a one layer card that features sentiment stamping for the background! I purchased the Mama Elephant set Tiny Heros and hadn't inked it up yet - so I wanted to do something a little different this go 'round with my stamps. So - I chose two of the sentiments to use as my background for the sentiment stamping, and two colors of Memento Ink -Lady Bug and Cantaloupe. I created a 5 x 5 square card base, and I die cut an oval from a Stampin Up Ovals die set from some Inkadinkado Masking paper - and placed that as much in the upper center of my card base as possible. Then, I just started inking up my sentiments, and starting stamping.
Once I was done with my stamping, I took some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and inked around the edges of my mask paper to really define the edge, so when I removed my masking paper, it would give it some fun dimension even though this was a one layer card.
I then stamped one of the kid images from the same stamp set with my MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink, and colored in the mask part and star. I really wanted to highlight those images to represent our "Super, awesome" this girl was! It was hard to not color in the entire image. I really wanted to do something different.
I have the video tutorial below in case you wanted to see how I made this card from start to finish.
Enjoy your weekend, and I'll be back soon!! Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
Hello all! TGIF!! Today, I wanted to share with you a card I made yesterday using the new Mama Elephant set Just Hatched. This is an adorable set!! I was debating back and forth on whether to get it, and I am so glad I did. I didn't purchase the dies this time, but I will find my self eventually buying them.
I also did a video making this card over at my YouTube channel - and so I thought I would share that with you too!
Hello! I wanted to share you a card I made using some of the new Simon Says Stamp products from the Spring Release 2014. I also have a video showing you the process of how I made it. I enjoy using new products - and I really love a lot of the new products from the latest release.

Hi everyone! I'm posting on the blog today my entry for the Mama Elephant Challenge! YEP! That's right Mama Elephant is doing challenges now! So exciting. I really do love their stamps and dies! They are quickly becoming a favorite company of mine!
Here's my take on this challenge -
This was a great time for me to use some of these stamps that I haven't inked up yet!! I used the set Lights Out, and I also used the oh so loved by me Femme Frames! I stamped one of these adorable light bulbs in Bubble Gum Ink from HA, and then used the inside of the bulb using the heart image stamped in Raspberry Jam ink also from HA. I stamped the bottom part of the bulb in Espresso Truffle Memento ink, and then stamped the little chain in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it in Silver embossing powder. It is a little tough to decipher that here.
I chose the sentiment " I will feel a glow just thinking of you" and carefully inked it up in Raspberry Jam and then in the rest in Versa Fine Black ink by masking it off in parts. Then, I randomly stamped some hearts found in the new Pandamonium set in the same inks, and also heat embossed in silver the larger hearts.
My pattern paper background panel is an older MME 6x6 pad called "Love ME". To finish the card off, I HAD to use some Wink of Stella *wink* to my heart in my light bulb to give it that shimmery glow.
So fun! I plan on doing these challenges again....because Mama Elephants stamps are fun!!
Welcome to the first Lawnscaping Challenge of 2014!! We are kicking the year off with a PARTY! We are celebrating Lawnscaping's 4th year!!! YAY!
We are also excited that Simon Says Stamp will be a sponsor again in 2014! I wanted to make a card featuring that it is Lawnscaping's 4th year!!
I was *really* wanting to use Lawn Fawn's newest set Science of Love and its coordinating dies somehow in this card!! So - I thought it would be cute to use the calculator! I stamped and die cut it 4 times and I colored it with some Copics in some primary colors. I used the 'Happy Birthday' greeting from Grand Greetings, and I used also Quinn's 123's and Jessie's ABC's.
For a little bit more of a festive birthday look I added some streamers from Bake Me A Cake and stamped them using some Memento dew drops in the same primary colors.
To finish off my card - I added some Wink of Stella to the calculators.
Hope you are able to join us for this happy challenge, and submit your birthday/party themed card!! See you over at the gallery!
Well hello there. Hope you are having a nice evening - or least it is evening where I am in the world. Tonight - I wanted to pop in to share with you this fun card using some new Mama Elephant stamps and dies. When I saw this newest release from Mama Elephant - the one stamp and die set that I just absolutely HAD to have was Fair Feathers - and don't forget the coordinating Creative Cuts.
This is by far my favorite 'feather' and die set on the market! And, there are lots of great ones out there - but this one spoke to me!! Anymore - If I don't feel that I will really use what I *think* I want - I talk myself out of getting it. I am at the stage in my crafting life where I know if I just HAVE to have something or not - and not just buy stuff because its new. This was one of the sets I knew I would love and use!!
I am planning on giving this to a friend / coworker that is leaving in a few weeks for a new job and opportunity. I intended to keep this more a masculine card with the colors - and I like the overall turn out :)
It feels so great to be in the craft room this evening!! I don't know what it is, but I don't get to sit down and create as much as I'd like to! I am finally getting to play with my SSS August Card Kit ( which is sold out - sorry to those that might have been interested) Good news is though - there are some of the products in the kit that are sold individually and are available for purchase!
This kit is such a great one too! Well, all of the SSS kits usually are - and this one is no exception!!
Most of the items you see on this card were used from the kit, however the die cut leaves are from a die and stamps from PTI, the "Just Because" comes from "Handwritten Sentiments" from SSS, and the green card stock was just a piece that was from my scraps. I love these colors together! So happy!
You can never have enough "Hello" or "Just Because" cards! I always like to have them on hand - and I want them to make who ever receives them smile! I think this will be one of those cards :)
Hi ya'll! :) I wanted to pop in this evening and share with you my submission for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge. It is all about Birthdays ( in particular - Michele's birthday! HB Michele!)
This card is also going up for my second submission for the PDCC because of the color scheme.
Here is my card:
I stamped my card using this set by Paper Smooches. I just love, love this pattern!! I stamped it in Dandelion and Gray Flannel Memento Ink. Then I die cut one of the Apothecary labels from the exclusive die set from Simon Says Stamp, and I then I colored my label my using this ink, and let it dry a bit before stamping my sentiment from this set also from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped that in Versa Fine black ink. To finish off my card I added this "always" wood chip piece that I just LOVE!
Kari here with you again - sorry I've been a little bit silent on my blog, but I am back this afternoon to share with you my submission for the latest PDC Challenge. I just love these colors in this challenge. So bright and cheery, and it made me want to play along!
For my card, I broke out THIS set from The Stamps of Life. I really hadn't used it yet, and I've had it for a while. I thought it would be fun to play with it on this challenge. I stamped my crayons in Dandelion Memento Ink, Gray Flannel Memento Ink, and Neon Pink Hero Arts Ink, and I used this set from Paper Smooches, and this set from Mama Elephant to create my sentiment that I stamped using Tuxedo Black ink. I found some pattern paper from this 6x6 pad to create my notebook paper, and used this punch by EK Success. I also was able to use some of my new washi from Freckled Fawn. I added my stamped panel to gray card base and to finish it off I rounded the corners, and added a cute little paperclip to my notebook page. Cute. Simple. Hope you like it!!
Hi all! Today's post is all about the Avery Elle Challenge. This will be my first time playing with them. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp companies. All of their images are wonderful, and versatile, and the stamps are excellent quality. I wanted to participate in the challenge for a chance to possibly become the April Guest Designer! How cool would that be!!
The challenge is to create a project from this photo.
And, here is my take on this photo.
There are so many wonderful colors and patterns to take from this photo. Of course, what jumps out at you is the yellow chevron! Chevron is my favorite!! Instead of stamping out a chevron background, I wanted to mix it up a bit, and knew I had a chevron bag from Whiskers Graphics in my stash, and it happened to be yellow!! I adhered the bag to my white card base, and then took out my stash of paper flowers and picked out some orange, and dark pink ones and adhered them to look like a had a "bunch" of flowers coming out of my bag. To finish off the flowers, I added some small pearls to the middle of the flowers. For my sentiment, I stamped out the chevron banner tag in Rose Bud Memento ink from To The Point stamp set, and stamped out the "hello there" sentiment from the same stamp set - I cut out my banner tag, and then added some pink bakers twine and adhered to my card base with foam adhesive.
Here is another look at my card.
It was fun participating in this challenge! I hope to do it again in the next one!! Have a great rest of the weekend!
**Before I get to my post - I just want to take the time to express how deeply sad I am about the events that took place last Fri 12-14-12 at Sandy Hook Elementary in CT - my deepest thoughts and prayers are with the children families that were taken from the world WAY too soon - and the heros that played a part in trying to shield those children from harm. May you all Rest In Peace!**
Hi all!! We are a week away from celebrating Christmas! Can you believe it!! I am not done with shopping either - but luckily I won't be seeing some of my family right at Christmas - so I still have a little time to buy what is left on my list :) Today, I wanted to share with you a Christmas card I made using my beloved Lawn Fawn stamps :) If you follow me regularly - you know how much I adore all things Lawn Fawn - and that I feel my stamp collection wouldn't be the same without Lawn Fawn in it.
I love the set Sweet Christmas. How fun are these images to create your own ginger bread house with the ginger bread men and woman :)
I started with a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than a A2 size card. I have this peppermint background stamp that just screams to be embossed!! I stamped out two of the Christmas Trees in a chevron patterned paper. I then stamped/embossed the gingerbread in white onto kraft card stock and 'fussy' them and then added a bit of color with some of my Memento Markers. I popped all of those pieces on my white background piece with dimensionals. For some fun - I stamped out the sentiment in black, green and red for something different instead of straight black onto a die cut piece using one of my Sizzix Framelits from Stampin' Up. To finish up the card - I added some red grosgrain ribbon with green stitching to "tie" everything together - and mounted my panel onto a piece of kraft card stock.
I am not sure if I will get to post another project for all of you before Christmas - so from me to all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
