Quick and Simple Friendship Valentine's Day Cards | Two Ways

Hi my friends!
Today I wanted to share with you two cards you can create quick and easy using one stamp set for Valentine's Day for any of your friends.  You also don't have to give these as Valentine's Day Cards, but anytime of the year!

I used the Heart Smile stamp set from Concord and 9th.  Their products have been some of my favorites.  They actually came out of the blue for me.  I knew they of course existed in the stamping industry, but since I've purchased some of their products, I've really been drawn to their stuff!  They have unique stamps and dies, and I love that about them!

I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp the large solid heart, and I used two ink colors from Simon Says Stamp, Sunkist, and Rosie Cheeks!  I love these two pastel like colors!

For this first card, I used the Rosie Cheeks color, and stamped it a few times getting a good saturated in color image.  I am stamping on my favorite white card stock, PTI stampers select white.  Once, I finished with this one, I moved onto the Sunkist color, and did the same.  I die cut both panels using the stitched frame from the Femme Frames die set from Mama Elephant.

I wanted to heat emboss my sentiments, so I used my powder tool first to prep the area of the heart, and then I stamped my sentiments and embossed in two embossing powders on each card, Gold and Liquid Platinum from Ranger.  I also added the arrow element to the Sunkist heart to added a bit more interest.

I backed the main panels with some PTI Hawaiian Shores card stock, and used the other die in the Femme Frames set to die cut the card stock.

For the inside I stamped some sentiments from the Fun and Flirty stamp set from Paper Smooches, and added a heart to tie everything together.

For a final touch, I decided to add some shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen to the Rosie Cheeks heart and that completes both cards!

You can see all supplies used and the video tutorial below!  Thanks for stopping in today!  See you soon!

Hello, Friend! (card share + video)

Hello everyone!!  Hope your weekend has been relaxing and filled with happy moments.
Today I am using some new products that I recently purchased, and I wanted to break them in.

I used a new Paper Smooches stamp set called Just a Note.  I also used various colors of Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Ultra Pink, Lemon Yellow, Dark Quartz, Mint Julip, and Corn Flower.  I stamped the crayons onto a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow white card stock that I ran through my Big Shot using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die.  I also used dies from Mama Elephant's Femme Frames.  I used patterned papers from Amy Tangerine's Yes, Please 6x6 paper pad.

I did actually did a video tutorial for this card - Here is the LINK :)

Hope you enjoy!!
Have a great Sunday!

Warmest of Wishes

Hi ya'll! :)  I wanted to pop in this evening and share with you my submission for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  It is all about Birthdays ( in particular - Michele's birthday! HB Michele!)

This card is also going up for my second submission for the PDCC because of the color scheme.

Here is my card:

I stamped my card using this set by Paper Smooches.  I just love, love this pattern!!  I stamped it in Dandelion and Gray Flannel Memento Ink.  Then I die cut one of the Apothecary labels from the exclusive die set from Simon Says Stamp, and I then I colored my label my using this ink, and let it dry a bit before stamping my sentiment from this set also from Simon Says Stamp.  I stamped that in Versa Fine black ink.  To finish off my card I added this "always" wood chip piece that I just LOVE!

See you soon!

PDCC Challenge #178

Kari here with you again - sorry I've been a little bit silent on my blog, but I am back this afternoon to share with you my submission for the latest PDC Challenge.  I just love these colors in this challenge.  So bright and cheery, and it made me want to play along!

For my card, I broke out THIS set from The Stamps of Life.  I really hadn't used it yet, and I've had it for a while.  I thought it would be fun to play with it on this challenge.  I stamped my crayons in Dandelion Memento Ink, Gray Flannel Memento Ink, and Neon Pink Hero Arts Ink, and I used this set from Paper Smooches, and this set from Mama Elephant to create my sentiment that I stamped using Tuxedo Black ink. I found some pattern paper from this 6x6 pad to create my notebook paper, and used this punch by EK Success.  I also was able to use some of my new washi from Freckled Fawn.  I added my stamped panel to gray card base and to finish it off I rounded the corners, and added a cute little paperclip to my notebook page.  Cute. Simple. Hope you like it!!

See you soon!

CAS challenge - Opposites Attract

It's that time again to show you my submission for this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Opposites Attract.  Like most of us I love color!! So, this week we had to choose to opposite colors on the color wheel for our CAS projects.  I choose yellow and purple! I started out by stamping my houndstooth pattern from my Paper Smooches set Debonair.  I just love this set!  It is awesome, people!!  I stamped one in Grape Jelly Memento Ink, and the other in Dandelion Memento Ink.  I love the coverage that these inks give me on photopolymer stamps.

Then I picked some paper flowers from my stash that were yellow and purple, and added black in the middle to compliment my sentiment, which comes from HA set Sky's The Limit.  I popped up my card panel on foam adhesive, and called it done.  I love the contrast of these two colors.  I hope it makes you smile, like it does me!!

Stay Inspired my friends!!  Be back soon!

PS Sparks DT Call Submission

Good Evening!! Paper Smooches is having a DT call for their challenge blog - and I wanted to throw my bid in on having the chance to make their DT.  Part of the application process is to draw inspiration from one of the photos past or present that they have submitted for the challenges ( past or present).  I am drawing my inspiration from this photo -

I LOVE the colors in this photo - bright and clean colors.  I am really drawn to a bright green color lately.  So - here is what I came up with from this photo-

I used PS sets Debonair, and the sentiment is from Word Up.  I loved how the flowers just came together - and I know you really can't tell from the photo - but the button I had from my stash has a chevron pattern to it!!  So hot right now!!

I know there will be lots of wonderful designers submitting their apps too for a chance to be on the wonderful challenge blog - and to represent the one and only Paper Smooches.  Their stamps are so much fun and whimsical and the fonts one their sentiments are one of a kind!  Wish me luck!!

Be back soon for another card share!!

Stay Inspired!!

CAS-ual Friday #44

It is CAS-ual Friday time!  This week "It's easy as 1-2-3".  It can't get any more simple that this - create a CAS card with a pattern, image and sentiment!
From last SU! workshop, I had earned one of the hostess sets - Ain't Love Grand.  I loved this set from the time I saw it in the latest catalog.  So happy that I was able to earn it before my SU Demo "retired" from being a demo.  Now, I will be the first to admit, I am not the best when it comes to Copic coloring, because I am still learning, but in my opinion this came out pretty decent.  I punched out my image with 1 3/4" circle punch, and then adhered that to a scallop circle.  Then, from my new Paper Smooches border set Debonair, I stamped that to the bottom of my card base.  I added some trim to complete my border, and added my sentiment " Ain't Love Grand".

This would make a cute card for any newly married couple!  Or that couple keeping the LOVE alive :o)

Thanks for visiting!!

Lily Pad Cards- Virginia's View Challenge # 3

Happy St. Paddy's Day Everyone. **said in my best Irish accent** :o)

Hopefully you are wearing your green where you won't get pinched - Or maybe you do :o)

Today - I wanted to share with you a card I am submitting for the latest Virgina's View Challenge.  It caught my eye with the inspirational photo with all the color!!  You all know I love color!  It makes me happy!  I used my new stamp set from Paper Smooches called Debonair.  I love all three of these images - but the diamond pattern is my favorite.  I just imaged this stamped several times in a border filled with color.  I, then stamped the banner image from Lawn Fawn's Bannerific.  Then I took the I love you sentiment from Say Cheese, and broke up the sentiment to fit the banner.  Since the photo had buttons, I added buttons to the corners to coordinate with my ink colors ( all from Memento ink), and the same with the Bakers Twine from The Twinery.

I am also literally submitting this into the Paper Crafts Magazine Stamping Royalty Contest.  It is one of 4 cards I am submitting.  Ever since I found out about this contest 2 years ago - I've wanted to enter.  As nervous as I am, I wanted to give it a shot.  You never know until you try!

Hope that your weekend is fantastic where ever you are in the world!!  Make it great!!

Paper Smooches Challenge

It is a beautiful today to be crafty!  Hi all!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!!  I want to share with you my submission to my first Paper Smooches Challenge.  In the last few months I discovered PS stamps, and I love their style.  So cute, and versatile.  I just love their font!!  Very whimsical.

This week the challenge is to create a card being inspired by this photo

For me, sketches and photos are a bit more of a challenge for me to make a card, why I don't know.  There is inspiration all around us, and that certain something will inspire us and off we go, so I am proud of what has come of my project this time.  As I don't have many PS stamps yet ( slowly building them up), I knew this was a challenge in itself.  Luckily - I received my new set Metropolis.  I used the image that looks like fireworks to me, and I created a circle of color.  Goes great with the sentiment, don't you think?!  The sentiment comes from the PS set Word Salad.  The Kraft card base brings out the white doily, and all the color!  Here is another look at my submission

Make today great, and hope everyones weekend is fantastic!!  See you soon!!

CAS-ual Friday : Penguin Suit

Good Afternoon! So I'm sharing with you all this afternoon my submission for the latest CAS-ual Friday challenge. Pretty simple really on the concept. Make a black and white card. You know I haven't made too many black and white cards. Don't know why - know real reason really, but nonetheless I wanted to enter this challenge. I do have a confession. I started out making a completely different card than the one shown, which was an actual penguin card, but after the advice of my husband ( I asked ), I decided not to do that. So - here is what I did come up with. I am also thinking of doing another one as well - we will see. For now - here is my first entry :o)
I love doilies!! They can really make an impact on a card. This one is from Stampin' Up! This is all one layer card. My sentiment comes from Paper Smooches, and the tag image comes from Inkadinkado. Hope you all like! I might be back to share another submission...we will see! Have a nice rest of the weekend!! - Kari

Simon Says Stamp Presents a Product Challenge:Lilly Pad Cards

I'm back!!  Those of you in the States - I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving, and shopped till your hearts content!!  I am back to share with all of you my entry for the latest challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  All you have to do is make a card featuring buttons.  I love buttons, and I love the sponsor, Simon Says Stamp.  I wanted to make a bright and cheerful card, but rather simple.  I used the cute flower from the stamp set called "Button Buddies" from SU!.  I want to point out, I didn't do that on purpose - :)

I stamped my flowers on Kraft card stock, and added some buttons from PTI, and baker's twine from The Twinery.  The leaves were punched from a Martha Stewart leaf punch, and the patterned paper comes from Echo Park "Holly Jolly Christmas" 6 x 6 pad.  My sentiment comes from Paper Smooches, and I did some paper piercing with my mat stack from SU!.   Hope you all enjoy the simplicity, and the colors as I do.

See you soon!!
