2014 Holiday Card Series - Card #1

Hello my fellow crafters!!  Welcome to card #1 in my Holiday Card Series for 2014!!  This is my first series I've done, and first Holiday Card Series, so I hope you enjoy the cards I make and present to you, and I also hope to inspire you on what to make for your holiday cards this year!!

Today, we are using a great stamp set from The Stamps of Life called Ornaments4Christmas and its coordinating dies.

For the first ornament, I stamped it out in Fern Ink from Simon Says Stamp.  I love this green color, such a pretty Kelly Green. I then die cut that out with the matching die as well as the ornament topper.  I took my Galaxy Gold Memento Ink Dew Drop and just swiped the pad across a piece of scrap white card stock, and let dry, and used the topper die to cut out.  I then worked on the other ornament.  I used a piece of silver shimmer paper from the Shimmer Stack from DCWV, and inked up my ornament in VersaMark Ink, and then applied some SU! Gold Embossing Powder, and heat to set, and also die cut it out using the matching die. I then used a white panel that I had previously die cut from a another project using the stitched frame from Femme Frames from ME.  I didn't use it before because it has gotten a smudge on it, so I set it aside.  I didn't want to scrap it and waste it, so that is when I decided to use some pattern paper from the Oh, Deer 6x6 pad from Fancy Pants.  I love this candy striped pattern, so I die cut it using the same stitched frame, and I adhered that pattern paper using my PLUS adhesive.  I needed some "strings" for my ornaments so I decided to use the dotted stamp from Deck the Halls from Lawn Fawn and stamped those using my favorite black ink - VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I stamped my sentiment from the same SOL set also in the same black ink.  I added my ornaments to my card panel, and then added some foam squares to the panel to pop it up off of my white card base.  Simple, and easy to replicate!  I think that's the name of the game when making Holiday Cards!!
The video is below if you'd like how this one came together!!  Thanks for stopping by, and I'll be back with Card #2 soon!!

PPP Cutting Edge Blog Hop

OK - so I am doing a little catching up on my crafting!  This is the first full day I have had the chance to dedicate to crafting in 3 weeks!  I've missed it...
So, I wanted to participate in the PPP Cutting Edge Blog Hop.  I also did a video on how I made this card coming soon to my blog - once it goes live I will add it to this post.
I recently purchased the Stitched Film Strip Die - it was a die I really didn't have in my die collection - so many possibilities with this cute die.

For my card I inked up a couple of Stamps of Life stamp sets that I had that hasn't seen ink yet - Popcorn2stamp and TV2stamp.  These cute stamps also have coordinating dies to match!  You know me...love those coordinating dies!  I inked up the popcorn bag in Memento Luxe Love Letter, and the 'POP' sentiment in MFT Black Licorice and Memento Dandelion inks.  I die cut a few pieces of True Black CS from PTI from the Stitched Film Strip Die, because I didn't know exactly how my design would turn out.  So - that is when I used the 'News Flash' sentiment and stamped it 3 times within the die cut and then added my popcorn and popcorn bag.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  I also used one of the die cuts inside of my card as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!!  And, once the video for this card goes live I will share it as well!! Also, thank you to Paulina and her line up of sponsors for the chance to show off our creations during this blog hop!!

PDCC Challenge #178

Kari here with you again - sorry I've been a little bit silent on my blog, but I am back this afternoon to share with you my submission for the latest PDC Challenge.  I just love these colors in this challenge.  So bright and cheery, and it made me want to play along!

For my card, I broke out THIS set from The Stamps of Life.  I really hadn't used it yet, and I've had it for a while.  I thought it would be fun to play with it on this challenge.  I stamped my crayons in Dandelion Memento Ink, Gray Flannel Memento Ink, and Neon Pink Hero Arts Ink, and I used this set from Paper Smooches, and this set from Mama Elephant to create my sentiment that I stamped using Tuxedo Black ink. I found some pattern paper from this 6x6 pad to create my notebook paper, and used this punch by EK Success.  I also was able to use some of my new washi from Freckled Fawn.  I added my stamped panel to gray card base and to finish it off I rounded the corners, and added a cute little paperclip to my notebook page.  Cute. Simple. Hope you like it!!

See you soon!

Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthdays!!

Hi all!!  Sorry I have been MIA other than posting for Sweet Stamp Shop's August Release.  Hope you all enjoyed the release!!  It was fun seeing all the DT projects and being active for my first DT!!  OK- switching gears here!!  Thought I would post three birthday cards I've made recently.  These birthdays happened all within the last week!! Two on the same day :)  Here is a look at card #1.

This card features a Gina K. Designs set called Holiday Basket.  I just LOVE this basket - so much fun to play with!!  I also used the sunflowers in this set.  I colored directly on the stamp of the sunflowers with various colors of Memento markers.  I colored the leaves with Copic marker G05.  I stamped the basket directly onto my card base, and stamped it again onto some pattern paper from the Basic Grey 6 x6 paper line Shine On - it was a line exclusively for Joann craft stores.  I added some dimensionals to pop it off the card.  I added a few embellishments to tie everything together - like the copper brads on the basket - a button in the middle, and used some hemp twine and tied a bow and added it to the single sunflower.  I added some sunburst washi tape.  My sentiment is from Lawn Fawn - Grand Greetings.

OK- Card #2

This card was a simple card to make but with lots of color!  The fun element to this card is of course the cassette tape.  It is from a set from TPC Studios - Retro.  The pattern paper comes from Amy Tan's Sketchbook.  For the sentiment - I added some various Thickers :)  Quick and simple!!

Card #3

This card features The Stamps of Life set Candy2share.  The border on this card was cut using this die from Memory Box.  Love this design!!!  The pattern paper that is behind the die is from the same Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad Shine On.  The birthday sentiment comes from Studio Calico Hey Day sentiments.  You can't use this candy images without using some glossy accents to bring the to life!!  Such a fun and happy card!!  Here is a closer look at the glossy accents on the candy - it really makes the shine!

Hope you all like these three totally different birthday cards!!!   They were fun to make and even more enjoyable - giving to them to the recipients with a smile on their face!
