LSC #76 Dust 'em off

Hello, hello!  Wow - time sure is flying!  I can't believe we are starting up a new challenge already!  We want you to "dust 'em off" - get out a crafty tool or stamp that you don't use or haven't used in a while and show the love!

I used two stamp sets, and a few of my Stampin' Up inks that I haven't used much. In fact the My Silly Valentine stamp set I've never inked up!!!  I know, right!?!  I also used Interlocking Backdrops - and I inked up the hexagon strip with Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding inks.  I die cut two panels from my Postage Edge frame dies from SSS, and I stamped out my hexagon background first - then I stamped on the square panel the two pears and colored them in with Copic Markers - and of course had to add shimmer like the rest of the card making population with my Wink of Stella pen :)  I, then stamped out my sentiment which "pairs" up with my pears :)  Super punny on that one!  I doubled up on the foam squares for the small panel, and adhered it to my stamped panel and then I added some Lawn Trimmings and then I added both panels also with foam adhesive onto a Pistachio Pudding card base which is A2 size.

Hope you are able to join us for this new challenge!!  Lawn Fawn is our wonderful sponsor this week!!  And, the new release will be available this week too!! YES!!  Sorry - a little excited there!

See you soon - thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday, Mom!!

This is all about my mom today!!  Happy Birthday, Mom!!  I love you!!   Today, I am celebrating my mom and her life.  She has blessed me in so many ways!  I am happy to call her my mom!

I wanted to make her a birthday card that was as bright and happy as she has made me over the years.  As any mother and daughter relationship - we've had our moments that weren't so happy - but overall we've been there for each other when it counted the most!!

Mom - hope you don't mind me sharing your card with everyone before its in your hands!  I hope today you feel loved like you are everyday!!

Thanks everyone for stopping in and allowing me to share this with all of you!

You Make....

It's the weekend!!  YAY!  Even better than that - it is the start of my vacation to relax and do something else besides work!!  :)

Today - I am here to share a card with you that I made using the Simon Says Stamp set Card Exchanging Friends.

I also used the new ink In Colors for 2013-2015 from SU!  So pretty - these colors together are so yummy!!  So up my alley!!  I stamped out one of the banners from the stamp set several times - and I used Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, and back to Crisp Cantaloupe.  My card is a 4.25 x 4.25 square card. I then wanted for each banner to have a sentiment in it - so I stamped " You Make" in the first banner and then continued down with each different sentiment from the same stamp set.  I adhered my stamped panel to a piece of Wood Grain card stock - also from Simon Says Stamp, and then adhered that to a Coastal Cabana card base.  To finish off the card and bring in more of the strawberry color - I added to bakers twine that closely matched that color.

So simple  - yet colorful and fun!!

Thanks for stopping in!!

LSC # 58 Clean and Simple

One of the only reasons I look forward to Mondays is because there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge :)  This challenge is all about creating a CAS card.  Now, I will admit, when I first started making CAS cards, it was SO hard for me!!  I wanted to keep adding and adding, but the more I practiced on this, I feel I have the hang of the concept now.

For my card this week, I wanted to used my new dies for the set Admit One.  Another admission here....this is the first time I have inked up this stamp set.  I am not very good at fussy cutting, although I will do it, but I am SLOOWWW at it.  HAHA.  So - when LF released the dies for this set, my eyes lit up with joy!!

My card is a standard A2 size card, and I cut a separate white piece of card stock to emboss my clouds using a SU! embossing folder, and I die cut the carousel using the coordinating die.  I stamped the carousel onto my card base and colored it with Copics, and then added my "Enjoy the Ride" sentiment, and I popped up my card panel with foam adhesive to give dimension to my carousel.

It was a fun card to make, and to ink up this cute set and use its coordinating dies!

Hope your week is off to a great start!!  See you back here soon!

PDCC # 168- Be Our Valentine

It's the weekend!!  Time to play with crafty goodies again!  Today I am sharing with you my submission for the latest Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I haven't played with them in a while - and I loved the color combination for this challenge.  It was also a good reason to play with  my one and only Avery Elle stamp set.  This is quickly becoming another favorite stamp company of mine.  I love their images, and the quality of their stamps.  They are growing super fast in popularity ( as they should)!

Here is my card!

I inked my favorite image of the Fanfare stamp set.  I inked it up in this weeks' colors - I used Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry, PaperTrey Ink Berry Sorbet, and Memento Angel Pink.  I die cut the largest heart from PTI Framed Out #11, and inked up the rest of the hearts with the same set in the same inks as before.  My sentiment comes from a new stamp set I just got in the mail this past week - Darling Sentiments by Studio Calico/Hero Arts.  I mounted my card panel to a Cotton Candy card base.

I am also going to enter this card into the SSS Challenge - Have a Heart. It is the first time in a while since I have entered into this challenge.  There are so many wonderful entries!!  You should check it out and play along too!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!!

Winter Owl - LSC#50 and Pinspired Challenge#2

Hello lovlies!  I thought I would get crafty this Sunday.  It is a rainy day in Southern Missouri, and what a better way to spend it than getting inky.  After all, like I mentioned in yesterday's post - I am trying to get back in the crafty groove again!!  So - today I am here to share with you my card that I am entering into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge, and also entering the next Pinspired Challenge.

I kept it fairly simple. For some reason, I always think I have to make something spectacular to get noticed in these challenges - which don't get me wrong - I like most of the time, because it stretches my creativity, but I also have to keep in mind that sometimes simple is just as good!!!  It is just the way I am!!

I used some of the pattern papers from this 6x6 paper pad.  I stamped out my image from Lawn Fawn's Winter Owl stamp set.  This is the first time that I've inked up this cutie!!  I used this ink, and then I did some Copic coloring.  I paper-pieced the scarf of the owl using some scraps I had in my stash.  I wanted to customize my sentiment to say - "Baby, it's cold OWLside".  I used both Sally's and Harold's ABC's.

To finish the card off, I wanted to add some Stampin' Up Sweater Trim.  This trim is so soft!  I love it.

Where ever you are - I hope it is not too cold and if it is warm - feel lucky!!  So far, the winter here hasn't been as bad as it has been in the past, which is good - I am not a winter person!!!

See You Soon!

HELLO THERE!!

Hi all!!  It's been a busy, busy week - sorry my blog has been quiet the last week!  Today, I wanted to pop in real quick and just share a card I made last week.  I didn't make this card for a challenge or anything - just wanted to be crafty and this is what I came up with.  I did actually give this to a friend of mine.

I was in the mood to use my Distress Inks ( who am I kidding, I am always in the mood for DI).  I took an older background Paisley stamp from SU! and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then, I took Ripe Persimmon, Peacock Feathers, and Wild Honey, and blended that onto my background.  So fun, and gives such an awesome look.  I stamped out my sentiment "Hello There" from the Hey Day Sentiments set from Studio Calico.  I first stamped it in Butter Bar Midtone ink from Hero Arts - then stamped it again with Gray Flannel Memento Ink.  The gray ink turned a greenish color - which I didn't intend to do - but it turned out fine.  I then added some ribbon from SU! and a dimensional flower sticker from Sassafrass.  I wanted a different element for my sentiment instead of just placing it onto my card panel - so I took out some  Memo Pins from Tim Holtz - and it added that "something" that I was looking for.  I added my card panel to my card base with is a A2 size which is Summer Sunrise from PTI.

Turned out cute, I think.  Hope your weekend was a good one!!

CAS-ual Friday Challenge # 67 - Banners/Flags

Good Evening my friends - I wanted to share with you my submission for the latest CFC - Banners and Flags.  I haven't played with CAS-ual Fridays in several weeks - and thought this would be a fun one!!  I will just get right into it.  I used my Stampin' Up Mini Banner Framelits to die cut out several different pattern papers from the Echo Park Sweet Day 6 x 6 pad.

I adhered all of my banners to a piece of Kraft card stock and, then I dry embossed the whole panel with my Herringbone embossing folder.  It gives the effect that the banners are already in the kraft card stock!!  Love this look.  I made my own custom sentiment with some Hero Arts Micro White Letters.  I did use my Copic marker in Prawn R24.  I used dimensionals to adhere my sentiment to my card panel, and then adhered that to my SSS 120 lb. card base.

Here is closer look at the embossing.

This card would be a great card for a student, since school is just starting!!  It would be a great encouragement card to keep them motivated through the upcoming school year!!

Have a great remainder of the weekend!!!

LSC Submission #2

Well, I'm back again this morning with another submission for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  After I created my first card for this challenge - I had another idea in my head, and I didn't want to lose it, so I went to work, and this is my second card.  I went in a different direction with this card - bright, colorful and cheery.

With this card - I created my "pattern paper" using washi tape.  I have four different colors of this diagonal washi tape, and created this background, and to give it something a bit extra - I embossed it with my swiss dots embossing folder using my Cuttlebug.  I used the Lawn Fawn set Year One, and I embossed the birthday cake in white over some papers from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side 6 x6 pad.  I stamped out my birthday sentiment from this same set in Tangelo ink from Memento, and for an extra fun element added a mini clothespin from SU!  I put everything on dimensionals - because after all this challenge is about dimension.  To finish off, I added some Lawn Trimmings from Lawn Fawn and some Yellow Stickles for the candles.

Here is another look at my card for the dimension....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  Happy Crafting!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 37 - Use Dimension

Happy Sunday my friends!! It is time for another LSC - and its all about dimension on your project!  Dimension is so much fun, because it makes your card/ or page come alive!  For my card, I used LF set You've Got Mail.  I stamped out two postcard images - one for the postcard itself, and one to represent an envelope. I used some Old Paper Distress Ink to make them look vintage,  and then added some text from my Newspaper Background stamp from Hero Arts.  I added some fun air mail washi to my postcard!  Loved this washi tape when I saw it on Etsy. :)  I added some paper from the new line from Kaiser Craft - Check -IN to my card base.

I used SU dimensionals for my first layer ( my envelope), and then some pop dots from AC for the second layer.  For another fun element, I used a mini paper clip.  This one was a fun one for me.  They all are though really - who am I kidding :)  It is suppose to be fun!  :)

See you soon!!

CFC#59 - Round and Round

Good Afternoon bloggers - First - To all the Canadians out there - Happy Canada Day!  I'm back to share with you my submission for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Round and Round.  Isn't there a song with that title??  Anyway, the challenge is to make a clean and simple card incorporating two circles - I technically  used more - but the circles are intertwined :)  I used a SU! background stamp for my design.  Check it out.

I heat embossed my background onto different colored card stocks from both SU! and Paper Trey Ink. I applied my color block panel with dimensional adhesive onto my card base which is Simon Says Stamp 120 lb weight card stock.  My sentiment comes from Stampendous called Happy Messages.  I also adhered that to my card with dimensional adhesive.   Pretty simple card - but the different colored card stocks really makes this card in my opinion.

Here is another look -

Thanks for stopping in!!  Have a nice rest of the weekend!!

A Rainy Day Challenge - Lily Pad Cards/SSS

Hi Friends - **This is my second post today - **

I'm getting all of my challenge submissions done today - and this time I am back with the latest SSS challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  Make a card representing rain, or rain related.  I got out my "Ain't Love Grand" hostess set from SU!.  It has this cute umbrella image in it.  I wanted to do a emboss resist technique, and I did that with the water drop from the Lawn Fawn set " Plus One".  The Distress Inks I used were Tumbled Glass, and Chipped Sapphire.

My sentiment also comes from Lawn Fawn - but from the set " On the Mend".  You can't really tell in the photo, but I added some glaze gel pen to the water puddles.  I finished off the card with some Twinery Twine.  If I was feeling down or blue - getting this card would perk up my spirits for sure.  :o)

PDCC129

**This is my second post today**

I must be in a very crafty mood today, as I have made four cards - including this card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge # 129.  This is my first time participating in this challenge.  I like the retro feel of this challenge blog, and thought I would give it a go.  In this challenge there are colors that are suggested to follow to incorporate into each submission.  For my card I used my SU! set  Sprinkled Expressions.  This was Sale-a- Bration set that I earned after purchasing $ 50 dollars or more.  So, I was happy I was able to pick up this cute set.  Since graduation is right around the corner, even though I don't have anyone that is graduating, I thought the theme was nice, and could be used for other things other than graduation.

I like this colors together.  they are so striking!  I wanted to add some sparkle to my "shining stars", so I added some Stardust Stickles.    I had fun making the card - and its fun to play for the first time in this challenge.  :o)

CFC: April Showers Bring May Flowers

We are starting another week, and thought I would start by making a clean and simple card for this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  This time we are challenged to make a CAS card featuring trees and or flowers since Spring is here.  One of my favorite SU! sets that I have is Trendy Trees, and I haven't played with it in a long time, so I thought I would get it out, and use it for my card.

In order to use this set properly, you will need to use a stamp-ma-jig, which is something else I haven't played with in a while.  It was fun stamping these trees in spring like colors.  Brings so much "happy" to the card, in my opinion.  I wanted to do add "something" to the card besides my tree images, so I just made a border on my card base by scoring the outer edges.  I punched out my trees with a 1 3/4 circle punch and popped them up on my card.  The colors I stamped the trees in are SU! colors Pink Passion, Daffodil Delight, and Lucky Limeade.  The tree trunks I stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

I wanted to add a simple sentiment to my card - and this "Hello" sentiment comes from the Stampendous set, "Happy Messages".

In other news - I am looking forward to Friday for two reasons, one to see who has been chosen as this weeks challenge winners, and two I will be on 11 days of leisure!!  May 4th- 14th, I call VACATION!  I am so looking forward to the time!!

I feel there will be shopping in my future for craft goodies during this time. :o)  Everyone have a nice week!!

Sending Love...

'Tis Saturday - and when I woke up this AM, I had an idea for a card - so I jumped right to it, before it left my creative mind.  So I started out with my Lawn Fawn set You've Got Mail.  I hadn't used this set since buying it - and it was crying out to get inked!!  :o)  So I stamped out the mail box, and some of the envelopes, and did some Copic coloring.    I added the smallest heart from Plus One, and then cut all my images out.  I used a portion of the woodgrain paper from My Mind's Eye - On The Bright Side.  I popped up my  mailbox with dimensional adhesive, and then added my envelopes.

My sentiment comes from the same set from Lawn Fawn - and I embossed it with SCENTED cherry embossing powder from Stampin' Up!!  YES - Scented!!!  How cool is that!!??!!  On the side on my card - I die cut a scalloped envelope from this Sizzix Die.

I punched out some hearts from both my Stampin' Up heart to heart punch, and Martha Stewart cluster heart punch ( not sure what its actually called).  The envelope is die cut from the same paper pack from MME.  I added some bakers twine, and called it done!

Enjoy the weekend!!

Mini Baby Album

Good Afternoon!!  As promised, I am back to share with you my finished mini baby album I made as a request from one of my co workers.  She is about to have another grand baby, a baby girl! She wanted to give something different other than a card, but wanted something handmade.  I am glad that she gave me plenty of time to finish this...about a month to be exact.  The album I purchased is from Maya Road.  If you watch me on YouTube, it was in one of my latest haul videos.  I used various products from various companies for this album, but the more prominent companies used was paper from My Minds Eye Miss Caroline collection, and embellies from Fancy Pants Baby Mine collection.  A few things from Lawn Fawn were used, Stampin Up!, and Paper Smooches.

This is the front of the album.  The stickers for the front of this was actually purchased at Wal-Mart.  You might recognize the set, because I made a baby card using these same stickers, and I knew immediately that I would use them again for this album.

The front sticker is from the Baby Mine collection by Fancy Pants.  Such a cute collection.  Inspires me to have a little one of my own :o)  The first "page" is using papers from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side.  I generated from my computer the basic info you might see in a baby album.

On the other side of the first "page" is a pocket that I had from a pack I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  The person I made this for wanted to have a personal message for her new grand baby, so I thought this would be a cute touch.  The ribbon is white organza ribbon from Stampin' Up!.  I love this ribbon!  The next side is a place where the parents can insert a picture of their new addition :o)  I added some faux stitching for a finish touch.

This is a close up picture of the card all the way out.  The message is on the other side - but didn't want to reveal that without my co workers permission.  :o)

The other side of the second page is another place where they could insert a photo.  The "angel" die cut piece also comes from the Fancy Pants collection.  I figured they could put what ever else they wanted to here.

On the left side of the page, I stamped, colored and cut out this image from Paper Smooches.  This to me, is such an adorable image.  So very sweet!! The dimensional sticker was just from a pack in my stash.  And, finally the back of the album, we have a "reflective" page.  I thought it would be fun to have the baby see herself from this piece that is reflective in a way, that I die cut, and added a banner saying "sweet smile"  The owl die cut piece, another from the Fancy Pants collection.

Last, but not least - the spine of the album - I used some foam pink Thickers, and spelled out, " Heaven Sent".  I added some ribbon trim from Hero Arts to cover up my seam of the paper I cut to fit the binding.

It was a fun challenge for sure.  I sure hope that Sandy likes it!!!  Any questions on anything I used, please feel free to leave a comment or email me, and I will be happy to respond!!  Thanks for stoppin' in!!
