SSS Wednesday Challenge: Touchy Feely

Hey everyone!  Thought I would share with you a fun and simple card I made for the latest SSS Wednesday Challenge!

It has been a hot minute since I've participated in a challenge, but thought this one would be fun!

I wanted to play with my new to me set Tree Hugs from Concord and 9th!  This is such a unique set, and playing with it just once, I can see how you can get addicted to it, and also how you could create some fun masculine cards too!

I created my card using my favorite white card stock and took the tree image ( that is half of the tree) and stamped it using some Walnut ink from Lawn Fawn.  What is fun about this stamp is you can make your tree as skinny or as wide as you'd like.  I was going for a one-layer card, but yet clean and simple.  I stamped the heart from the set with Lobster ink from Lawn Fawn, and then carefully colored the heart with a R29 Copic Marker.  I, then masked off the sides of my card front getting it close to the edge of the tree, and then I took a little Antique Linen Distress Ink, and added some shading to the tree.

I wanted to add felt to my card ( as it tied into this week's challenge) - but I didn't have any red felt. So, I cut down a piece of white that I had, and took that same R29 Copic and colored my felt.  Once it was dry, I die cut a heart using a Lawn Fawn heart die, as well as die cutting the inside of my stamped heart.

I stamped the sentiment using the words Love and Hugs from the same stamp set in Lobster ink.  Love this red!  I adhered my felt heart to the inside of my card with some Multi Medium Matte,  and for a final touch added some Wink of Stella to the stamped heart!

Such a fun and different look - one I usually don't do.

Hope you enjoyed!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hi all!!  I am here to share my entry for the newest Wednesday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.  It has been quite a while since I've had the opportunity to enter into a challenge - usually I am making inspiration ( hopefully they are) cards for the DT that I am on, but for today's card, I am entering!  Feels good too!  Just to play!!  So - I had lots of fun coming up with the concept of my card!  The challenge is all about Friends or a Super Hero.  They are focusing on Mama Elephant stamps - and of course you do not have to use ME stamps - but since I have them, and ones that really fit the challenge, why not!

I looked through my ME stamps and one of my all time favorites is In My Heart!  I also like Tiny Heros, so I thought it would be fun to combine the two - convey a special message all at the same time!  I started out my card by die cutting a piece of my favorite white card stock - and I die cut it using the stitched frame from the popular Femme Frames from ME.  Then, I have some Sizzix Zig Zag Circle Dies and I cut one of the sizes out of some masking paper - I like the Inkadinkado Masking Paper.  I used the negative to create a mask, so I could do some inking of that shape in the middle.  I used Lemon Yellow ink from Hero Arts to ink up my background.  Once I was happy with that result, I removed my mask, and started working on my custom sentiment.  I used Sketchy Letters from ME, and stamped down the ' Be Your Own' part of the sentiment and used School House Red from Simon Says Stamp, and then I used the " You're My Favorite Superhero" sentiment from Tiny Heros and just inked up the 'Superhero' portion with Navy ink also from Hero Arts.

I added some Wink of Stella Clear Brush Marker to add some sparkle and shine :)  Then I stamped my two girl images - one from Tiny Heros, and the other from In My Heart, with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink because I used Copic Markers to color in my images.  Once I was finished with the coloring, I used the coordinating dies to die cut my images out.  Now it was time to start putting my card together.  My card base is a piece of School House Red from SSS - I stamped the Tiny Star background from Hero Arts with Versa Mark ink, and then coated my card base with Gold embossing powder, and then heat to set.  I then, die cut a piece of Fog card stock from a hill side border die I had in my stash to "ground" my two girl images.  I applied some foam adhesive to my hill side border, my two girl images as well as the main panel and I adhered everything into place.

I had fun creating this card!!  I think it is one of my favorites!!  See you all soon!

I Love You To The Stars....

Hi all!!  I've been experimenting!  Experimenting with different embossing pastes - and I have a new love!!  This stuff is so addicting!  Instant gratification! I am also doing something that I haven't done in a while!  Playing in challenge! I haven't actually been a participant in a while of a challenge.  Lately, I have had only enough time to complete DT projects - but today I am making the time to enter to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -  make your own background.  I haven't participated in this challenge before, so it is something fun and different for me.

I started out by taking a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Marshmallow card stock, and used Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks, and created by "Night Sky". Then, I have a Studio Calico Mask with Stars and used it with Silver Ferro embossing paste.  This stuff is AHHmazing!! The texture is awesome once it is dry.  Once it was dry - I then took one of my Lawn Fawn Star Stackables and die cut through my panel, and then I backed it with another piece of Marshmallow Card stock and then I adhered it to a black card base.  I stamped my sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Lucky Stars stamp set.  To finish it off I added some faux stitching to bring out the star on the white card stock.

If you haven't tried embossing paste - DO it! It is fun and a warning you will be addicted!  :)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Hi everyone!  Happy Memorial Day!!  I hope all the men and women and their families know how much we are blessed by their sacrifice everyday of their service for our freedom!!  God Bless all of you!!

Today, I am popping in quickly to share with you my entry for the latest SSS Challenge.  I actually had to work today ( half a day) and while at work, I had this idea that popped into my head for this challenge, and when I came home and after relaxing a bit, I put this card together!

I love Neon, and I really hadn't played with a stamp set that I own from Amy Tangerine called "Love Struck".  It's a bit of an older one, but I knew that this little camera was the perfect size for how I wanted to stamp on my card panel.  So - I stamped it out in five of the Neon Inks from HA, and then added some fun film strip washi across the card panel.  Then, my sentiment comes from Mama Elephant from a set called "Smitten".  Fun, huh?!

Hope your long weekend was a happy one!  See you back here soon!!

PDCC # 168- Be Our Valentine

It's the weekend!!  Time to play with crafty goodies again!  Today I am sharing with you my submission for the latest Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I haven't played with them in a while - and I loved the color combination for this challenge.  It was also a good reason to play with  my one and only Avery Elle stamp set.  This is quickly becoming another favorite stamp company of mine.  I love their images, and the quality of their stamps.  They are growing super fast in popularity ( as they should)!

Here is my card!

I inked my favorite image of the Fanfare stamp set.  I inked it up in this weeks' colors - I used Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry, PaperTrey Ink Berry Sorbet, and Memento Angel Pink.  I die cut the largest heart from PTI Framed Out #11, and inked up the rest of the hearts with the same set in the same inks as before.  My sentiment comes from a new stamp set I just got in the mail this past week - Darling Sentiments by Studio Calico/Hero Arts.  I mounted my card panel to a Cotton Candy card base.

I am also going to enter this card into the SSS Challenge - Have a Heart. It is the first time in a while since I have entered into this challenge.  There are so many wonderful entries!!  You should check it out and play along too!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Thinking of you/Sympathy

I'm still getting crafty - even into the night tonight, and thought I would make a card and enter into the Simon Says Challenge for my first time.  I am actually surprised that I have never entered into this challenge.  I usually buy my crafty goodies from Simon.

I recently bought a stamp set from PaperTrey Ink that I have been eyeing for quite some time - and I "splurged" and bought it with the coordinating dies.  The stamp set is called "The Sweet Life".  This set is gorgeous!!

This set makes any stamper look like they took hours to stamp out these beautiful roses.  I love the multi step  stamps - to me they are so much fun!!  I die cut and stamped out the roses and leaves from this set.  I used  THIS die and die cut a strip of pattern paper from the Sweet Day collection from Echo Park.  I applied my leaves, and roses on my card base - and I popped up the pink and yellow rose for some dimension away from the red rose.  I finally used the Always wood sentiment that came in my SSS October card kit, along with the stamp set - and that is where the "thinking of you" sentiment comes from.

Here is another look at my card -

This is one of my favorites that I've made in a while.  Great timing for this challenge :)
