Celebrate featuring Right At Home stamps!

Hello all!  Today, I am featuring some Right At Home stamps both from the new release and from a previous release.  I love how that you can mix and match stamp sets no matter when they have been released, and make them work on your projects all year round.

I wanted to feature the new set Find The Beauty, which is a lovely builder set with fun flower images.

I started by die cutting a piece of smooth white card stock, and a scallop frame from Pretty Pink Posh. On my white card panel, I took one of the flower images and stamped down the main solid image flower, and then took the builder images for the flower and stamped them using different colors of ink to really make it pop.  I wanted the center of the flower to stand out with the sentiment, so I stamped the middle flower accent, and took my powder tool to ensure that no embossing powder wouldn't stick to areas where I didn't want it, and then I used my Versa Mark ink, and stamped my image down, then coating it with Gold embossing powder and heat setting it.  I wanted leaves around my flower, so I took another one of the building images that suppose to accent another flower, and turned it into leaves.  I just made a mask for my flower and stamped my "leaves" to make it look like they were behind my flower.

For my sentiment, I used the oh so popular Script Greetings, and used the Celebrate sentiment, and also embossed it in Gold embossing powder.
To finish up my card, I took the scallop frame, and inked around it with an ombre' look, and then adhered that onto a piece of kraft and gold foiled pattern paper to really set off the gold accents on my card.  I adhered my main panels onto a 5 x 5 white card base.

I wanted to keep it fairly clean a simple as I wanted my focal images to take stage!

You can find the stamp sets and more of the latest release over at the Right at Home store!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will see you very soon!

SSS Wednesday Challenge: Touchy Feely

Hey everyone!  Thought I would share with you a fun and simple card I made for the latest SSS Wednesday Challenge!

It has been a hot minute since I've participated in a challenge, but thought this one would be fun!

I wanted to play with my new to me set Tree Hugs from Concord and 9th!  This is such a unique set, and playing with it just once, I can see how you can get addicted to it, and also how you could create some fun masculine cards too!

I created my card using my favorite white card stock and took the tree image ( that is half of the tree) and stamped it using some Walnut ink from Lawn Fawn.  What is fun about this stamp is you can make your tree as skinny or as wide as you'd like.  I was going for a one-layer card, but yet clean and simple.  I stamped the heart from the set with Lobster ink from Lawn Fawn, and then carefully colored the heart with a R29 Copic Marker.  I, then masked off the sides of my card front getting it close to the edge of the tree, and then I took a little Antique Linen Distress Ink, and added some shading to the tree.

I wanted to add felt to my card ( as it tied into this week's challenge) - but I didn't have any red felt. So, I cut down a piece of white that I had, and took that same R29 Copic and colored my felt.  Once it was dry, I die cut a heart using a Lawn Fawn heart die, as well as die cutting the inside of my stamped heart.

I stamped the sentiment using the words Love and Hugs from the same stamp set in Lobster ink.  Love this red!  I adhered my felt heart to the inside of my card with some Multi Medium Matte,  and for a final touch added some Wink of Stella to the stamped heart!

Such a fun and different look - one I usually don't do.

Hope you enjoyed!

Lawnscaping Challenge #99: Clean and Simple

Hi everyone!!  Gosh - I simply can't believe we are introducing a new challenge already....time is flyin!!  So - its all about being Clean and Simple for this challenge!  And, we are happy to have our sponsor Ellen Hutson!!

Clean and Simple cards are not my strong suit, I'll be honest, but that is why it is called Lawnscaping CHALLEGE - to challenge us...even us on the design teams :)

I used the set from Lawn Fawn called #Awesome for my card.  I am obsessed with Instagram, and so I wanted to make something with this cute little "Instagram-esk" camera.  I simply stamped it out in HA Cup O' Joe ink and carefully colored it in with Copics and this ink is not usually friendly with Copics.  I cut it out with the coordinating die and set it aside as I did a little more stamping on my white card base.  I stamped the star background from Teeny Tiny Backdrops with Soft Vanilla ink from HA and then stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set in Memento Espresso Truffle ink.  I added some foam dimensionals to my camera and popped up my card and finished the card off by using my Corner Chomper and I rounded the edges.

I hope you are able to make a clean and simple project and ink it up for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Ellen Hutson!!

See you soon!!

LSC #78 Clean and Simple

Welcome back to a new challenge for Lawnscaping Challenges! For this challenge, we are going to test your Clean and Simple skills!  For some this is really easy, and others, not so much!!  I think the meaning means different for every crafter, but none the less, it can be fun and challenging all at the same time.

For my card, I am taking some of the skills and techniques used in the current class over at Online Classes, Clean and Simple 3.
I started out by die cutting my balloon using one of the dies from the newest balloon die set from Simon Says Stamp, and I did that out of masking paper.  I, then applied my mask onto my card base, which is a standard card size of 4.25 x 5.5 - and scored to make a top folding card.  I, then took the diagonal strip border stamp from Lawn Fawn's Belinda's Borders, and inked it up using three colors of Hero Arts Mid tone Inks - Mint Julip, Butter Bar, and Pale Tomato.  Then, I need to define my balloon on my card base, so I took a sponge dauber, and inked slightly around the edge going from the middle of the masking paper out to the edge so the color wouldn't be so intense.
I think stamped my birthday sentiment from Lawn Fawn's So much to Say stamp set using the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.  I love this font! and then I stamped 3 start from one of the newest sets - Hello Sunshine, and then added a bit of shimmer to the stars using the Wink of Stella clear marker pen.  I, then rounded the corners to finish everything off.

This would be a fun one layer card too!  Hope you are able to join us over at Lawnscaping!!  Our awesome sponsor is....well yes - Lawn Fawn!  SCORE!

Looking forward to seeing all the clean and simple creations over at the gallery!

Clean and Simple Congrats

Hello bloggers and craft lovers.  I am back to share with you a simple 'Congrats' card I made for a friend/co worker.  I made this in the event of my dear friend Gena being promoted to a manager position "officially".  She had been filling in, but the sweet woman that had the job already was retiring, and Gena got to take her position officially, and I wanted to of course congratulate her.  She deserves this opportunity!

Believe it or not, it is hard to make clean and simple cards.  We all want to "doll up" our cards, but sometimes the clean and simple ones are wonderful, too.  On this card, I wanted it to be very colorful.  There is nothing more eye catching than rows of color!!

All of the inks that I used are Memento Dye Inks.  I {heart} these inks so much.  Memento Ink and Distress Inks for me are the most used inks that I have.  They stamp well on all the stamps I own, whether it is rubber stamps, or my clear/cling stamps.  Distress Inks are good stamping inks as well.  Some forget to actually stamp with them, but they are awesome for embossing because they stay wet longer for you to apply your powder.  Just a friendly reminder tip!  :)
I changed the look of my blog slightly.  How does everyone like it??  Anyone think I shouldn't have changed it??  Everyone once in a while, I want change, and that means in my blog too.  I think I drive people at work crazy, because I am always changing and rearranging things around my desk or what have you.  I digress!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day/evening!!
