Lawnscaping Challenge #100 Birthday Celebration

Hi all!! Welcome back to a new challenge is going on over at Lawnscaping, and it is a special one!!  Lawnscaping is celebrating their 100th challenge!!  I know everyone that is involved with Lawnscaping is excited to see this challenge, especially the founder, the awesome Laurel!  It couldn't have come this far with out you!!!  The participants!!  And, for that we thank all of you!!
I like all of us on both design teams started out as a participant and I couldn't wait to create my next card with each new challenge!!  I am so thankful and fortunate to have been on the FIT team going on 2 years!

So - we are celebrating this new challenge with a birthday theme!!

I wanted to make a bright a cheerful card to go along with the birthday/celebration theme!!  So - I used Lawn Fawn's "Hello Sunshine" stamp set.  I also used the Spring Showers dies, for my cloud and sun :)  I tried my hand at coloring my birds in a multi -colored way, and I gotta say, I am pretty happy with the results!!  I used my Copic markers to achieve this look :)  I stamped my wire line from the stamp set and then stamped out my birds, and stamped my birds again onto some white card stock, and I colored in each bird in a different color combination.  Once I was finished with the coloring, I fussy cut out the birds except their little feet of course, and paper pieced them onto my main panel.  I did the same for my balloon, except I stamped my balloon in Hot Lips ink, and then fussy cut that out and placed foam adhesive on the back and adhered to my panel for some dimension.    I added some irRESISTtible Pico Embellisher in clear for the balloon and black on the birds eyes to make them pop.

Our sponsor for this awesome challenge and milestone is no one other than Lawn Fawn!!  Hope you are able to join us for this celebration!!  We can't wait to see YOUR project in the gallery!!

LSC # 83 Embossing

Happy Monday :) Is it time for a new challenge already over at Lawnscaping ? - YEP!
For this new challenge - it is all about embossing!!  Whether you used embossing powder to heat emboss, or an embossing folder to dry emboss or BOTH, we want to see your projects!

For my card - I inked up the cute set "Here's the Scoop" - it is a fun summery type set from Lawn Fawn that you can get at Simon Says Stamp who is our awesome sponsor!!

I stamped and heat embossed my ice cream "tops" in various colors of embossing powders - all from Stampin' Up! because that is the only brand of colored embossing powders I own - but there are many colors from WOW! that you can get too! After I embossed all of the ice cream - I "fussy" cut them out and set them aside.  I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Stitched Journaling Card Die, and then I stamped my cones using Toffee Crunch Memento Ink, and then I added a bit of color using my E11 Copic Marker.  I also stamped the ice cream scoop image in Gray Flannel Memento Ink and colored it using C3 Copic Marker and then I also "fussy" cut it out. I adhered all of my images to my die cut white panel, and two of the ice cream images I popped up using dimensional adhesive.  I stamped the sentiment "Here's the Scoop" in Onyx Black VersaFine Ink.  I adhered that panel to a blue patterned paper from the Hello, Sunshine 6x6 paper pack from Lawn Fawn, and adhered all of that to my white A2 size card base.

Hope you are able to join us for this fun new challenge!!

See you soon!

LSC #81 Make Your Own Background

Welcome, Welcome to another challenge over at Lawnscaping!  If you joined in our last challenge, hope you had fun seeing all the "mini" projects!!  For you this week it is all about backgrounds, and creating your own!!  There are so many ways to create a background and it will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!!  I also want to mention that we are sponsored by the ever so popular Simon Says Stamp, and they have their new website up and running!!  If you haven't checked it out, its awesome!!  OK - onto my project!

For my card I used three different sets from Lawn Fawn - Hello Sunshine, Happy 4th, and Bannerific.

I started out by die cutting a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow card stock with the scalloped frame from Mama Elephant.  Then I started stamping the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment from Hello Sunshine to create my background using Soft Vanilla Ink from Hero Arts!  LOVE this ink color!  Then, once I was done stamping, I prepped by panel with my powder bag to prevent static  because I heat embossed the firework images from Happy 4th.  I heat embossed them in silver embossing powder - so pretty and it really is a neat effect against that soft vanilla background.  Then, I stamped and die cut one of the banners from Bannerific.  I recently purchased the dies to match, so I was anxious to use them.  I inked up the "Let's Celebrate" sentiment using Pale Tomato ink.  I placed foam adhesive both of the stamped panel and the banner, and all of that went on one of the patterns from the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad.  It gives a slight pattern between the stamped panel and the card base which a piece of Butter Mints card stock from Bazzill - cut and scored to a  create an A2 top folded card.

To finish off my card I wanted to add some sequins - so I used a couple from the Hello Sunshine collection from Lawn Fawn as well as some 4 mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I am addicted to the 4 mm size!

Hope I have inspired you to join in this week's challenge!!  Looking forward to seeing all the fun backgrounds in the gallery!!  Have a great week!

LSC #78 Clean and Simple

Welcome back to a new challenge for Lawnscaping Challenges! For this challenge, we are going to test your Clean and Simple skills!  For some this is really easy, and others, not so much!!  I think the meaning means different for every crafter, but none the less, it can be fun and challenging all at the same time.

For my card, I am taking some of the skills and techniques used in the current class over at Online Classes, Clean and Simple 3.
I started out by die cutting my balloon using one of the dies from the newest balloon die set from Simon Says Stamp, and I did that out of masking paper.  I, then applied my mask onto my card base, which is a standard card size of 4.25 x 5.5 - and scored to make a top folding card.  I, then took the diagonal strip border stamp from Lawn Fawn's Belinda's Borders, and inked it up using three colors of Hero Arts Mid tone Inks - Mint Julip, Butter Bar, and Pale Tomato.  Then, I need to define my balloon on my card base, so I took a sponge dauber, and inked slightly around the edge going from the middle of the masking paper out to the edge so the color wouldn't be so intense.
I think stamped my birthday sentiment from Lawn Fawn's So much to Say stamp set using the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.  I love this font! and then I stamped 3 start from one of the newest sets - Hello Sunshine, and then added a bit of shimmer to the stars using the Wink of Stella clear marker pen.  I, then rounded the corners to finish everything off.

This would be a fun one layer card too!  Hope you are able to join us over at Lawnscaping!!  Our awesome sponsor is....well yes - Lawn Fawn!  SCORE!

Looking forward to seeing all the clean and simple creations over at the gallery!
