LSC #81 Make Your Own Background

Welcome, Welcome to another challenge over at Lawnscaping!  If you joined in our last challenge, hope you had fun seeing all the "mini" projects!!  For you this week it is all about backgrounds, and creating your own!!  There are so many ways to create a background and it will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!!  I also want to mention that we are sponsored by the ever so popular Simon Says Stamp, and they have their new website up and running!!  If you haven't checked it out, its awesome!!  OK - onto my project!

For my card I used three different sets from Lawn Fawn - Hello Sunshine, Happy 4th, and Bannerific.

I started out by die cutting a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow card stock with the scalloped frame from Mama Elephant.  Then I started stamping the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment from Hello Sunshine to create my background using Soft Vanilla Ink from Hero Arts!  LOVE this ink color!  Then, once I was done stamping, I prepped by panel with my powder bag to prevent static  because I heat embossed the firework images from Happy 4th.  I heat embossed them in silver embossing powder - so pretty and it really is a neat effect against that soft vanilla background.  Then, I stamped and die cut one of the banners from Bannerific.  I recently purchased the dies to match, so I was anxious to use them.  I inked up the "Let's Celebrate" sentiment using Pale Tomato ink.  I placed foam adhesive both of the stamped panel and the banner, and all of that went on one of the patterns from the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad.  It gives a slight pattern between the stamped panel and the card base which a piece of Butter Mints card stock from Bazzill - cut and scored to a  create an A2 top folded card.

To finish off my card I wanted to add some sequins - so I used a couple from the Hello Sunshine collection from Lawn Fawn as well as some 4 mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I am addicted to the 4 mm size!

Hope I have inspired you to join in this week's challenge!!  Looking forward to seeing all the fun backgrounds in the gallery!!  Have a great week!

It's a Fawny Holiday!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to week full of inspiration and fun ideas for your Lawn Fawn Winter and Holiday sets we are calling A Fawny Holiday!  I am thrilled and honored to take part in this fun event happening over at the Lawn Fawn Blog!  We were asked to pick one winter/holiday Lawn Fawn set and make a project featuring that set!

I chose Winter Sparrows and its coordinating Lawn Cuts Dies.

I think that this set is one of the cutest winter sets!  And, the fact that it has dies to match warms my creative heart!!  This card is a simple one that can be easily duplicated if you wanted to - it packs a festive punch, but is also simple to reproduce over and over!!  And, we card makers love those two elements during the holiday season!!

Be sure to visit all week the Lawn Fawn blog for more fun inspiration, projects, videos, and did I forget to mention PRIZES!  Lawn Fawn is so great about that!!  "Season's Tweetings" LF lovers!!

PDCC # 168- Be Our Valentine

It's the weekend!!  Time to play with crafty goodies again!  Today I am sharing with you my submission for the latest Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I haven't played with them in a while - and I loved the color combination for this challenge.  It was also a good reason to play with  my one and only Avery Elle stamp set.  This is quickly becoming another favorite stamp company of mine.  I love their images, and the quality of their stamps.  They are growing super fast in popularity ( as they should)!

Here is my card!

I inked my favorite image of the Fanfare stamp set.  I inked it up in this weeks' colors - I used Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry, PaperTrey Ink Berry Sorbet, and Memento Angel Pink.  I die cut the largest heart from PTI Framed Out #11, and inked up the rest of the hearts with the same set in the same inks as before.  My sentiment comes from a new stamp set I just got in the mail this past week - Darling Sentiments by Studio Calico/Hero Arts.  I mounted my card panel to a Cotton Candy card base.

I am also going to enter this card into the SSS Challenge - Have a Heart. It is the first time in a while since I have entered into this challenge.  There are so many wonderful entries!!  You should check it out and play along too!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #44 - New Technique

Hello Crafters!

So happy its the weekend - but as always it will go so fast!  I enjoy my time to be able to craft and the weekend is a good time for me to do DT projects, challenges, or just be crafty in general!!  I wanted to share with you my project for the next Lawnscaping Challenge - Try a New Technique.  For my technique - I've always wanted to try stamping with bleach.  I've seen so many cool projects done with it, and how it gives such a neat look.

To tell you the truth I actually did another card previous to making this one - but I felt this one turned out a bit better overall.

I first made a "bleach pad" by layering up a piece of paper towel and saturated it with bleach.  I chose the microphone from Stay Tuned from Lawn Fawn and stamped it out first with the bleach.  The image wasn't as solid as I would have liked - but still gave it a neat look.  I, then stamped the image again with Memento Morocco Ink and offset the stamped image a bit.  Then, I stamped my microphone image with black Staz On ink.  I took one of the speech bubbles from A Birdie Told Me, and stamped that above the black microphone.  Above the others, I stamped in the Morocco Ink the music notes from Stay Tuned.  My sentiment also comes from Stay Tuned.

I wanted to add some texture so I turned to my basket of washi tape - and found this gray diagonal pattern and a thin mustard yellow pattern.  For some embellishments- I added some gems and pearls.  I forgot to say in the beginning - I finally was able to purchase the sampler pack of the Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock, and I love it!!  Like they say - its great for card makers - my card panel is the Circus Peanuts color, and the Licorice Twist is my card base.

Here is another look -

As always I enjoy participating in the LSC. It is my favorite Challenge blog :)  I'll meet you back here soon!
