LSC #84 Stars and Stripes

Hello Lawnscaping fans!  It is time for a new challenge!  Summer is on the horizon!  Can you believe it!  So, for our challenge this time it is about those versatile Stars and Stripes!  And, guess who is our our sponsor - Lawn Fawn!  YAY!!

For my card - I kept it pretty simple!  I used some white embossing paste by Wendi Vecchi and I added some gold glitter and incorporated the glitter in my embossing paste.  Then, I took my star stencil that I purchased from Simon Says Stamp, and applied it to one half of my piece of Tim Holtz water color card stock, and let it dry. It didn't take long at all for it to dry.  Then, I adhered to the other half of the card stock some papers from Lawn Fawn's Into The Woods 6x6 pad.  Then, I took one of my  Lawn Fawn's Star Stackables dies and die cut a star from my panel.  Then, I heat embossed in gold right on my card base my "You Shine" sentiment from the set Lucky Stars also from Lawn Fawn. Then, I adhered my main panel so my sentiment would be right in the middle of my star die cut.  Super fun and super simple :)

Hope you are able to join us for another new fun challenge!!
See you soon!

So - Here is my card that I've made to hopefully inspire you :)

I used two Lawn Fawn sets - (1)Hello Sunshine using the sentiment 'Fly away with me', and (2) Blue Skies and I used the smallest balloon in the set.  I, first prepped my card panel by die cutting it using one of the Femme Frames from Mama Elephant, and then I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for my sky.  Then, I die cut two pieces of white card stock and made a DIY stencil using the My Favorite Things Sun Ray die.  I, then added some color to my embossing paste using the Mustard Seed Distress Marker, and I applied my stencil and applied the colored paste, and then added some sparkle using Judikins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder.   I set that aside to dry before I heat embossed it, and then I worked on my balloon.  I stamped and die cut the smallest balloon, and colored it in using a couple of the green alcohol markers.
Once my embossing paste panel was dry, I heat embossed it for the embossing powder to shine and sparkle, and then I stamped my sentiment, and added my balloon using foam adhesive.  Then, I mounted that onto a A2 size top folding white card base.

Hope you are having fun on the hop so far!  It is time for me to send you off to the super sweet Lenny!

Thanks for visiting today!!

I Love You To The Stars....

Hi all!!  I've been experimenting!  Experimenting with different embossing pastes - and I have a new love!!  This stuff is so addicting!  Instant gratification! I am also doing something that I haven't done in a while!  Playing in challenge! I haven't actually been a participant in a while of a challenge.  Lately, I have had only enough time to complete DT projects - but today I am making the time to enter to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -  make your own background.  I haven't participated in this challenge before, so it is something fun and different for me.

I started out by taking a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Marshmallow card stock, and used Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks, and created by "Night Sky". Then, I have a Studio Calico Mask with Stars and used it with Silver Ferro embossing paste.  This stuff is AHHmazing!! The texture is awesome once it is dry.  Once it was dry - I then took one of my Lawn Fawn Star Stackables and die cut through my panel, and then I backed it with another piece of Marshmallow Card stock and then I adhered it to a black card base.  I stamped my sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Lucky Stars stamp set.  To finish it off I added some faux stitching to bring out the star on the white card stock.

If you haven't tried embossing paste - DO it! It is fun and a warning you will be addicted!  :)
