A Rainy Day Challenge - Lily Pad Cards/SSS

Hi Friends - **This is my second post today - **

I'm getting all of my challenge submissions done today - and this time I am back with the latest SSS challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  Make a card representing rain, or rain related.  I got out my "Ain't Love Grand" hostess set from SU!.  It has this cute umbrella image in it.  I wanted to do a emboss resist technique, and I did that with the water drop from the Lawn Fawn set " Plus One".  The Distress Inks I used were Tumbled Glass, and Chipped Sapphire.

My sentiment also comes from Lawn Fawn - but from the set " On the Mend".  You can't really tell in the photo, but I added some glaze gel pen to the water puddles.  I finished off the card with some Twinery Twine.  If I was feeling down or blue - getting this card would perk up my spirits for sure.  :o)

Stamping with Acrylic Paint

It feels so good to slowly getting back into the groove!!  It feels very satisfying for sure!!  Today, I wanted to share with you a card I just finished making " on the fly".  I have several different supplies that I have not even cracked open yet, and I am wanting to try some different things that I intended to do all along.  One of those things was try stamping with acrylic paints.  I had bought some time last year on clearance at Michaels some Adirondack Acrylic Paints, and I initially bought them, because I knew it would be a great thing to have to cover chipboard.  So - this afternoon - I opened up these paints for the first time, and used them on my Flourish Background stamp from Hero Arts.  It is one of my favorite BG stamps!!

The colors I used are Sunshine Yellow, Red Pepper, and Sunset Orange.  I also used my new package of " Glubers" from Cosmo Cricket.  I wanted to use up some ribbon scraps, so I made a flower, and "blinged" it up with some stick pins.  My sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn - ( have I mentioned I LOVE Lawn Fawn)  :o).  In fact this card I am entering into the LawnScaping Challenge - Distressing.

See you all soon!!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #162

Hi!!  After a few days of absence from blogging - I am back to share with you a card I made for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge for this week.  This time we have a beautiful picture to be inspired by with sunflowers, and beautiful bright colors.  Here is what I came up with.

I stamped the beautiful Engraved Daisy Cling  stamp from Hero Arts onto some paper from Authentique, and then used my Fiskars craft knife to cut out the image that is so detailed.  I added some color to the middle of the image by coloring with my YR12 Copic marker, and also punched out several flower design pieces using one of the "Itty Bitty punches" from SU!.  I added some pearls and a hemp twine bow, and of course added my butterfly to the top edge of one of the petals.  I thought this would be a beautiful birthday card - and so I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the SU! stamp set " Punch Bunch".  My card base is some card stock from Papertrey Ink - Terracotta Tile.  I love their card stock!!!

Till we meet back here again!!  Thanks for stopping by!

It is a blustery Sunday...

Well, the excess wind will just not stop!! - It makes me think of winter, and snowmen.  So, I thought it would be fitting to share a card that featured a snowman on it.    It is cold outside, but it is warm inside, and that is what matters to me at the moment.  I got out a few times today, and one of those times, I purchased a new little heater for when it is cold ( which is all the time during the winter months) in my craft room.  It will make it more pleasant to do my crafting.  The weekend has flew by.  I guess the wind took the weekend with it!  :o)  So, here is my Sunday card share for today.

I stamped the card base with Florentine Pattern stamp from Hero Arts.  I inked it up with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  I, then took a piece of patterned paper that I had already cut out with my Top Note Die from Stampin' Up, and adhered that down the the card base.  The snowman you see there is from a sticker pack that was purchased from Wal-Mart last year in there craft section.  I, then stamped my sentiment from Stampin' Up, that I believe comes in a stamp set, but I had purchased this one stamp from a small scrapbook store in some of my travels.  I also stamped the sentiment with the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  Mr. Snowman looks to be a happy 'lil guy to be so cold!!!  :o)

I have edited some of my blog to make it more visitor friendly.  If you like this card, or any other of the cards you see on my blog, at the bottom of each post, there is a "reaction" box you can check and it will say "I like this one".  I love to hear feedback from my readers.  There is also a comment box at the bottom of each post, and a "c-box" where you can add your comments or if you have any questions, you may submit them, and I will be happy to answer them for you.  I have other Christmas cards I need to make, so I can send them out this week!  I need to get on the ball!!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend where ever you are in the world!!  Till next time friends!!

Stay Inspired!
