LSC #41 - Sketch

Hello my blog readers - Today, I wanted to share with you my entry for the latest LSC.  It is based on a sketch - and I will tell you right now - for some reason - I am not very confident in my creativity when it comes to the sketches for some reason. You would think it would be pretty simple - but leave it to me to make it difficult for myself.  Anyhoo - for my card for the challenge - I am pretty happy with the result.

My card base is the beloved Hero Arts Kraft note cards I love so much ( that I am hoarding as much as possible).  They are hard to find in stores or online - this pack come with the note cards and envelopes.  I started with a washi tape back ground scene ( love this washi tape), and then added the scalloped border at the bottom.  I had some POW glitter paper, and used my Fiskars Cloud punches to punch out some clouds. I then stamped out my airplane from Lawn Fawn's Bon Voyage - and paper - pieced it with some papers from Basic Grey What's Up 6 x 6 pad.  I popped up my airplane with dimensionals,  then stamped out my sentiment from Grand Greetings from Lawn Fawn.

I just might send this card to my cousin that lives in the Chicago Area - she is a pilot for United Airlines - this would be perfect for her!!

Here is the sketch that I had to follow -

See what you can come up with!!  :)

LF Challenge # 36 Color Splash

Back again for another submission for the Lawnscaping Challenge.  What a fun challenge this go round.  Make a card or project with neutral tones - and then add that splash of color!!  I never know what I will come up with from one project to the next.  This one is one of those times!  I was thinking of what I had in my "stash" and I remembered that I had bought some Honey Pop paper.  If you have never seen this stuff - it is so neat.  Inky Antics has stamps that coordinate with this paper.

So - I thought I would use it to make a hot air balloon for my splash of color!  I used LF's "Sunny Skies" to stamp out my ribbon flags from the balloon , and my sentiment " Reach for the Sky"

Such a happy card, don't you think?!  I punched out some clouds with my Fiskars cloud punches - and used pattern papers from My Mind's Eye - On the Bright Side.

Well - it is getting late for me - and need to wind down for the night.  See you all back here soon!

CFC# 51 - Happy Birthday!

Monday, Monday...I'm actually enjoying Monday today as I am on vacation, and free to be crafty a little bit more this week than usual.  This morning, I wanted to share my card for this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  Over at the blog, they are celebrating their 1st birthday.  So - its all about making birthday cards!!

Who doesn't love getting a birthday card - and to me birthday cards are suppose to be colorful!  Since its CAS-ual Friday's birthday, I wanted to incorporate the logo's birthday colors - blue and yellow.  I love this embossing folder!  And - I thought the sentiment went well with the occasion.  It comes from Stampology.  I stamped my balloons from one of my Fiskars stamp sets ( sorry, I don't have the name on this set).

So - Happy Birthday CAS-ual Fridays!!  Here to many more happy birthdays and fun challenges. :o)

Have a great day, everyone!

It's been a while..BUT I'm here :o)

Sorry for my absence lately everyone.  I honestly haven't been the right mood to do a post.  I have been so busy with work, and trying to rest and have some  fun on the weekends - that I just haven't felt like getting my blog at all.  Anyway - with all that said, I am back today on this Sunday to share a card with you that I hope to bring a smile to your face.  The person that received this card sure did like it, and it perked her spirits up and that was the whole intention!!

With this card I used some Kraft card stock from PTI, and paper from the Sweet Nectar 6 X 6 pad from K & Company.  I used one of my favorite new background stamps from Hero Arts called Envelope Pattern.  I inked it up with Colorbox Frost White pigment ink.  I punched the edges of the patterned paper with one of my Fiskars border punches, and layered them on top of one another.  Then I took some of the cute Puffies stickers from KI memories, and adhered them to my card.  My sentiment comes from another Hero Arts stamps set called "Sending Smiles".  I finished off by adding some ribbon from PTI.

I hope to get back on track with more posts, so bare with me!!! Thanks for stopping in!!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #162

Hi!!  After a few days of absence from blogging - I am back to share with you a card I made for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge for this week.  This time we have a beautiful picture to be inspired by with sunflowers, and beautiful bright colors.  Here is what I came up with.

I stamped the beautiful Engraved Daisy Cling  stamp from Hero Arts onto some paper from Authentique, and then used my Fiskars craft knife to cut out the image that is so detailed.  I added some color to the middle of the image by coloring with my YR12 Copic marker, and also punched out several flower design pieces using one of the "Itty Bitty punches" from SU!.  I added some pearls and a hemp twine bow, and of course added my butterfly to the top edge of one of the petals.  I thought this would be a beautiful birthday card - and so I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the SU! stamp set " Punch Bunch".  My card base is some card stock from Papertrey Ink - Terracotta Tile.  I love their card stock!!!

Till we meet back here again!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fall is in the air

WHEW..what a day it has been.  I am so thankful I have my card making to fall back on as a stress reliever!  I tell ya, some days leave you scratching your head and asking "Really"??!!
Ahh, enough about that.

Let's get to today's card.  I am pretty proud of this one.  Not that I am not proud of all my cards, but as a card maker there are ones that you are just so happy how they turned out, sometimes you want to keep them for yourself.  I took some patterned papers from the Amber Autumn matstack from DCVW, and placed one all over the card front, and the other I used my Fiskars edge punch "Treading Water", and put that at the bottom of the card.  I sponged at the bottom of the edges some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to make the pattern paper appear a little softer.  Then, I have some "Woolies" stickers from Basic Gray, and applied that beautiful sticker onto the card front as the "center piece" of the card.  Your eyes just goes right to that beautiful thing, and the colors are perfect fall colors.  I took some scrap orange cardstock I had and stamped my "thanks" greeting from a stamp set from TPC Studio in Fired Brick Distress Ink, and also sponged the edges with that same color as well to tie it all together.  I made this card Tues night. 11-16-10, and gave it to a friend/co worker today at work.  She loved it!  I take pride in my cards, and giving to those that appreciate them.  Makes this girl feel good inside.  Hope your day was a good one.  Till next time, be good to one another.
