Lawnscaping Monthly Blog Hop | June 2015

Hello and welcome to another Monthly Blog Hop for Lawnscaping Challenges!  This month we are inspired by PURPLE!  I think you will all love the projects on this hop!  So much pretty purple to feast your eyes on!  You should have made your way to me by ISHA!  I have no doubt she had something fun and fabulous!

For my card I kept things simple.  I used the hexagon background from Interlocking Backdrops which is one of my favorite background sets from Lawn Fawn!  I used the new ink in Juice Box - such a perfect purple shade.  I stamped this background onto my white 5x5 card base. I had a piece of white card stock left over and created an ombre looked with 3 shades of purple Copic Markers, and then die cut several die cuts from the THANKS die - once using the ombre background, and then 5 more times just with white card stock, and I glued all of them together to create a faux chipboard piece.  I love doing this with my sentiment die cuts.

Then, I just die cut a star using one of the Puffy Star Stackables - and adhered it to my card base with foam adhesive, and then applied liquid glue to the back of my sentiment piece and adhered that to the star.  Check out the dimension below!

So fun!  To finish things off I added some shimmer using my Wink of Stella Clear brush pen.  Before I send you off to the next stop - I wanted to be sure to thank our wonderful sponsor The Ink Road ! Be sure to leave comments along with the way to have a chance to win a gift certificate from The Ink Road.

And, finally - Sadly, this post marks my final post for the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team.  I was honored to have served on this team for over 2 years - It was so fun bringing you inspiration for each challenge every two weeks, and for the blog hops.  I will miss working with such sweet ladies and not to mention talented!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today - I hope you continue to come back every once in a while :)  OK - enough with the mushy stuff - off to my girl Lenny's blog.

Happy Crafting ( and blog hopping)

Holiday Card Series #2 (Lawnscaping Challenge #93 Fall & Pumpkins)

Welcome back!  Today my card is pulling double duty!  The newest challenge for Lawnscaping is up!  It is all about Fall/or Pumpkin themed projects.  This is also Card #2 in my Holiday Card Series for 2014.  Before I get down to details, I must give a shout out to our wonderful sponsor Simon Says Stamp!  For the winner of this challenge - they will get a $25 dollar gift certificate to spend how ever you'd like in their online store!

So I used some of my favorites for this card!  I used the So Thankful set along with the matching dies as well as the pumpkin from Spooktacular.  I stamped the So Thankful pumpkins on pattern papers from from the Sweater Weather 6x6 pad( LOVE THIS SO MUCH) using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and I stamped the pumpkin from Spooktacular with the same ink, but removed the ink from the eyes and mouth, and stamped it down on to white card stock.  I added some dimension with a W-3 Copic Markers as well as a C1 Copic Marker to give the look of a white pumpkin.  Once all of my pumpkins were stamped and die cut out, I die cut my framed pieces from the same 6x6 pad, as well as some colored card stock.  I also die cut the largest leaf from the Stitched Leaves die set from Lawn Fawn as well as the Thanks from the Thanks die also from Lawn Fawn, and used some Wood grain Card stock from SSS.  I wanted to emboss my Thanks die cut, so I applied some Versa Mark ink and sprinkled on on Pewter Embossing Powder, and heat to set. I assembled all of my pieces to my card, and once I was finished, I added some Lawn Trimmings to my leaf as well as some Wink of Stella to my pumpkins.  To see how I put it all together - my video is below!  Thanks so much for watching and reading, and I will be back for Card #3 of my Holiday Card Series soon!!  Have a great week!

Tattered Florals

Hi all!  'Tis me again.  Can you believe the weekend is among us again!!  YEA!!!

I don't believe I have shared this card with all of you.  I looked back at my previous posts and didn't see this one, and wanted to share it with all of you.  One of my favorite dies is the Tattered Florals Die by Tim Holtz.  It is a wonderful die.  Anything Tim Holtz is awesome though, don't you agree??

I also used one of the adorable banners from Lawn Fawn stamp set "Bannerific" .  I just {heart} Lawn Fawn Stamps.  They are so much fun, and so versatile.  I have only been a fan for just a few months, but once I discovered them, I grew into a fast fan of theirs.  :)  Well, tomorrow night I will be attending my first SU! workshop in a long while.  My Demo has gone through lots of things the last few months, and finally has had the chance to have a gathering.  Just in time too!  We get the new 2011-2012 Ideal Book and Catalog.  I have been looking forward to this for two weeks!!  I am tellin' ya, it doesn't take much to make me happy, REALLY!  :o)  I hope all of you have a nice weekend where ever you are in the world!!  Do something that makes you happy!!  That's what it is all about!!  :)

Thank you for everything.

Happy Friday!  WHEW!  Glad we made it to Friday!!  It has been a rough and long week, but another weekend has come around and I am happy about it.  I am back to share with you a card I made for my cousin who we stayed with when my hubby and I went to Chicago for vacation in May.  I wanted to make her a card, and thank her for the wonderful stay we had.  This card has some bright and cheerful colors to it.  I added glossy accents to the windows of the house, but don't know if you can tell from the photo.  This is one of the stamp sets from Fiskars called Outdoor Fun.  It was one of the many sets I bought on Ebay from one of my favorite sellers.  She always has great deals.

Anyhoo, here is my card.....

In other news - I have been entering into different challenges, contests, and even showed my interest in becoming a member on a design team....so far...my projects haven't been chosen, nor did I make the DT this time, but it is all a learning experience, and I think of it this way - if nothing else, it is exposure, and one day, my day will come when my card will be chosen - or another opportunity will knock on my door.  I am hopeful anyway!!  Crafting is a passion, and it will remain so since I discovered it 2 years ago.  :)

Everyone have a nice weekend, and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!!

Just sayin' thanks!

Happy Tues. evening blog readers-  I'm back this evening to share another card with you.  Tonight I will keep this short, sweet and to the point.  I made several different cards over the weekend, and this was one of them.  I have mentioned before that when I start to make a card, usually I don't have any clue of what I will make, and it always winds up becoming a surprise to even myself.  This one was no different.  I started out stamping the card base with my Flourish background stamp, and off I went.

I love pink and green together.  Those colors are so vibrant, and happy to me.  I wanted to add some fun dimension, so I stamped this flower and added some Copic coloring, and then stamped the image again on my white card stock, and popped up the colored flower on top of the same image.  I added a jewel toned green brad in the middle, and then punch it out with my oval punch.  I thought I needed to add a little "something" in the middle of the card, and that is where the "hand- stiched" ribbon from Hero Arts comes in.  I love this stuff.  It is so simple, but adds such a quick elegant look that I was looking for.

Hope you like!!  I will be back soon for another card share.  I wish you all a good night or afternoon where ever you are in the world!!

Fall is in the air

WHEW..what a day it has been.  I am so thankful I have my card making to fall back on as a stress reliever!  I tell ya, some days leave you scratching your head and asking "Really"??!!
Ahh, enough about that.

Let's get to today's card.  I am pretty proud of this one.  Not that I am not proud of all my cards, but as a card maker there are ones that you are just so happy how they turned out, sometimes you want to keep them for yourself.  I took some patterned papers from the Amber Autumn matstack from DCVW, and placed one all over the card front, and the other I used my Fiskars edge punch "Treading Water", and put that at the bottom of the card.  I sponged at the bottom of the edges some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to make the pattern paper appear a little softer.  Then, I have some "Woolies" stickers from Basic Gray, and applied that beautiful sticker onto the card front as the "center piece" of the card.  Your eyes just goes right to that beautiful thing, and the colors are perfect fall colors.  I took some scrap orange cardstock I had and stamped my "thanks" greeting from a stamp set from TPC Studio in Fired Brick Distress Ink, and also sponged the edges with that same color as well to tie it all together.  I made this card Tues night. 11-16-10, and gave it to a friend/co worker today at work.  She loved it!  I take pride in my cards, and giving to those that appreciate them.  Makes this girl feel good inside.  Hope your day was a good one.  Till next time, be good to one another.
