Lawnscaping Monthly Blog Hop | June 2015

Hello and welcome to another Monthly Blog Hop for Lawnscaping Challenges!  This month we are inspired by PURPLE!  I think you will all love the projects on this hop!  So much pretty purple to feast your eyes on!  You should have made your way to me by ISHA!  I have no doubt she had something fun and fabulous!

For my card I kept things simple.  I used the hexagon background from Interlocking Backdrops which is one of my favorite background sets from Lawn Fawn!  I used the new ink in Juice Box - such a perfect purple shade.  I stamped this background onto my white 5x5 card base. I had a piece of white card stock left over and created an ombre looked with 3 shades of purple Copic Markers, and then die cut several die cuts from the THANKS die - once using the ombre background, and then 5 more times just with white card stock, and I glued all of them together to create a faux chipboard piece.  I love doing this with my sentiment die cuts.

Then, I just die cut a star using one of the Puffy Star Stackables - and adhered it to my card base with foam adhesive, and then applied liquid glue to the back of my sentiment piece and adhered that to the star.  Check out the dimension below!

So fun!  To finish things off I added some shimmer using my Wink of Stella Clear brush pen.  Before I send you off to the next stop - I wanted to be sure to thank our wonderful sponsor The Ink Road ! Be sure to leave comments along with the way to have a chance to win a gift certificate from The Ink Road.

And, finally - Sadly, this post marks my final post for the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team.  I was honored to have served on this team for over 2 years - It was so fun bringing you inspiration for each challenge every two weeks, and for the blog hops.  I will miss working with such sweet ladies and not to mention talented!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today - I hope you continue to come back every once in a while :)  OK - enough with the mushy stuff - off to my girl Lenny's blog.

Happy Crafting ( and blog hopping)
Kari

Lawnscaping FIT Monthly Blog Hop | May 2015

Hi blog hoppers!!  Welcome to my blog and another monthly blog hop featuring the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team aka FIT Team :)  This month we are inspired by the color Teal!  I think this hop in particular this month will be a popular one, because this color is a happy one, and it seems a lot of us love this color!  It is one of my favorite colors no doubt!!  Before I get into the details of my card  - you should arrived to my blog by the way of the talented Isha - no doubt I am sure that she had something fantastic!!  What a talent!

For my card for you today I wanted to keep it simple in design and let the color that we are inspired by stand on its own!  I used my first stamp set I ever purchased from Lawn Fawn - Say Cheese!  It is still a favorite and will remain that way I am sure.  And, who doesn't like a teal colored camera!  :)

I started my card by stamping my background which is from Argyle Backdrops - another one of my favorite background stamps from LF.  I used two colors of Teal ink, both from HA - Mint Julep and Tide Pool.  I stamped that onto my favorite white card stock - PTI stampers select white card stock, and I stamped enough to cover the card stock so I could die cut the panel with the Largest Stitched Rectangle Die from LF.  Once my background was done, I die cut another smaller panel with the same die set, and stamped my camera, as well as my sentiment which are the letters from Quinn's ABC's and I stamped them with Versa Mark ink, and them heat embossed them with Gold Embossing powder.

I colored both my camera and my letters with 4 shades of teal of Copic Markers - BG10, BG11, BG13, & BG15. I colored them with an ombre' effect in mind.  Once I was satisfied with how it looked, I moved onto the camera lens, and flash area of the camera, and I colored those areas with grays - C1 & C3.  I also added some shimmer with some Wink of Stella, and Clear irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.  I created a mat for my colored panel with a piece of the foiled card stock from the Bazzill Basics 6x6 pad.  And, here is a closer look at the details of the camera.

I liked how it turned out!!  I hope you do too, and it inspires you to get those older stamp sets out!!  I can't forget to give a shout out to our monthly ( and awesome) sponsor - Lara Smith from The Ink Road.  She has a wonderful shop on Etsy if you haven't checked it out yet!.  Be sure to leave a comment along the way and have a chance to win a gift certificate to her shop!!

So - its time move along to Lenny and her amazing project for you!!  If you get lost along the way - below is the hop order!!  Have fun on the rest of the hop!!

Lawnscaping FIT Team FEB 2015 Blog Hop

Hi gang!!  Welcome back to my blog and another Lawnscaping FIT Blog Hop!  We are happy to bring you another hop inspired by another create color/color combo!  Since this is heart month - it is only fitting that our inspiration color is RED!  Before I get to my card and all the details of it, first you should have found your way to me by my teamie Isha!  No doubt I am sure she had something fabulous for you to "ooooo and awwww" over!  Also - we are happy to have our fun and awesome sponsor The Ink Road!  Lara also has a blog HERE!

OK - now onto my contribution for the hop!!

I wanted to keep my card fairly simple in design!  The more I kept creating this card, I kept adding more elements to it!  I guess my creative slump is hopefully coming to an end then!  I used the stamp sets "Bannerific" "Happy Fourth" and "Argyle Backdrops" to create my card.  I had the scallop frame already die cut left over from a previous project, and thought I would put it to good use on this card.  I also had the red card stock panel sized down from my stash, and I used it as my focal panel, so I stamped the stitching stamp from Argyle Backdrops and embossed it with some Pewter embossing powder!!  Love watching this embossing powder melt!  So fun! I, then die cut out of some vellum one of the banners from "Bannerific" and stamped from "Happy Fourth" the Let's Celebrate sentiment and also embossed that in the same embossing powder. I adhered that to my red card stock panel with some vellum adhesive. Then I put all of my elements of my card together onto my True Black card base.  I added my scalloped frame first with Ranger Multi Medium in the matte finish and then I popped up my main panel for some dimension to my card.  I then die cut some hearts from the Small Journaling card die set and I added them to my card, and applied some White irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to my hearts to make them stand out!  I also added that Pico Embellisher to my banner as well.

Well, that's it from me!!  It is time for me to send you off to Miss Lenny!!  Be sure to leave comments along the way for your chance to win a gift certificate to The Ink Road online store!!

See you all soon!!  Enjoy the rest of your hop!

Lawnscaping FIT Team JAN 2015 BLOG HOP

Well, hello hello friends! Welcome to another edition of the Lawnscaping FIT Team Blog Hop!  As we did last year, we will be inspired by different colors, or color combos, and want to inspire you with those colors :)  We have a new sponsor of our monthly blog hops this year, but before I get into that, I just want to make sure you are on the right track on the hop!  You should have found your way to me by the fantastic Isha!  I will have the blog hop order listed below just so you can be sure to hop to each blog and see what each of us has in store :)

We are so excited to announce that we have a NEW FIT blog hop sponsor this year!!!!!!! Please join me in welcoming The Ink Road to the Lawnscaping sponsorship family!
The Ink Road is an adorable shop run by the fabulous Lara Smith!
Her store is filled with all kinds of adorable crafty goodies from stamps
(she carries our beloved Lawn Fawn) to dies to supplies to journals and planners!
If she doesn't have it, she can get it. She also price matches... .
AND YES, she ships internationally.
When you receive your order, you will smile because the packaging is absolutely adorable!
Each order is filled from the creative heart!
Be sure to check her out at her shop: The Ink Road and go here to visit her Blog!
The winner of the FIT Team hop will receive a gift certificate to her adorable store!

So - now onto my card :)

For my card, I created a shaker!  I first started out stamping out my background with Argyle Backdrops from Lawn Fawn onto a piece of white card stock.  I love this background builder stamp, and who doesn't like Argyle.  It is a great pattern to use for masculine cards. I love the contrast between these two blue ink colors.  Once I was done inking up my background, I die cut my panel out using the largest die from the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die set, and also created a window using the next to last size in the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackable set. Then, I worked on the inside panel of the shaker.  I stamped onto a piece of blue card stock using the So Much To Say stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped it in white pigment ink, and then applied white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the powder.  Then, I added a piece of acetate to my window and then some foam adhesive around the window.  I did double up on my foam adhesive to ensure that my seed beads would shake freely :)  Once I added my beads, I adhered my shaker panel to my white card base.
I felt I needed just a little something extra as it felt too plain, so I die cut out two stars from the Star Stackables from Lawn Fawn.  I inked up a polka dot background stamp and stamped the pattern down onto my white start, and then added my smaller star on top and finished it off by adding a bit of shimmer with my Wink of Stella Pen ( even though its hard to capture here.  Well - that's it from me - now its time to send you off to the one and only Lenny!!  Be sure to leave comments for your chance to win a gift certificate from our new and awesome sponsor!!

And, here is the blog hop order!

Lawnscaping FIT Team DECEMBER Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to the final Lawnscaping FIT Team Monthly Blog Hop for 2014!  This month we are focusing and inspired by Greens and Turquoise colors!!  Thank you to Spectrum Noir for sponsoring this hop once again!!  You should have found your way to me by Isha, who is super talented!!

Here is my card for this hop!  I wanted to make something simple, but was colorful.  I chose the stamp set "Wish You Were Here" and what a perfect way to represent these colors than this stamp set.  I chose the globe image.  I wanted to have fun and do something different than just coloring in the image.  So I chose to use two colors of embossing powders - both from WOW!

I die cut a piece of PTI Stampers Select white card stock ( my favorite) and used the circle stitched die from Simon Says Stamp.  Then, I inked up my globe image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Usually when I emboss, I use my VersaMark Ink, but I really couldn't do that for what I wanted to do, so the next best thing is the VersaMarkER - I color in the areas I wanted blue, added the blue embossing powder, heat to set with my Milwaukee Heat Tool,  and then moved on to the green areas and repeated the same process.  I set my main panel aside, and worked on my card base which is the same white card stock.  I wanted a subtle background and I absolutely love the Tiny Star background from Hero Arts.  I inked it up in Wet Cement ink from Hero Arts.  Then, I worked on my sentiment - I masked off "World" because I wanted it in green, and inked up the rest of the sentiment in my VersaFine Black ink, stamped it down, then masked off the other parts of the sentiment except "World" and stamped in in Green Hills ink, also from Hero Arts.  I wanted it to stand out a bit more, so I took my Copic Multi Liner and outlined it, and it really made it pop!  It was time to add my main focal point, so I added some foam adhesive and adhered it to my card base.

So Fun, and colorful too!!  Now, its time for me to send you off to Lenny - I am sure she has something awesome in store as well!!  Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win some products from Spectrum Noir!!  Take care and see you in the New Year!!

Lawnscaping FIT November Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!  These last few months of the year are flying by, and the holiday season is in full swing!!  The Facebook Inspiration Team always want to provide you with extra inspiration for your holiday cards!  This blog hop is sponsored by Spectrum Noir, and they will be giving a lucky commentor a set of their awesome markers!!  This month we are inspired by Grays and Blues. You should have found your way to my by the talented Isha!

For my card this month, I decided to make a shaker!  I usually don't make a whole lot of these - but I need to make more so I can get better at making them.  I used Critters in the Snow for my seal.  I stamped him down onto some white card stock, and used my cool grays to color him in.  I cut several panels for my shaker.  To make the frame, I used the two largest Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables dies, and for the inside piece I used the inside portion of the frame I created.   I also used the largest frame to die cut a piece of acetate for my window.  The snowflake pattern paper comes from the Frosty Friends 6x6 pad from DoodleBug.  For my sentiment - I used the 'Warm Wishes' greeting from Love You A Latte from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped it down onto my pattern paper using Memento Luxe Pigment Ink in Danube Blue and I embossed it with clear embossing powder. For my shaker elements I used a few colors of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as well as the snowflake sequins from American Crafts.

Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win some awesome Spectrum Noir products!  Your next stop is Lenny!!

Thanks for stopping by and have fun on the rest of the hop!

September Lawnscaping FIT Team Blog Hop

Hello everyone! So hard to believe we are winding down September, and heading into October! Crazy!! Today, the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team is bringing you more inspiration, and we are inspired by Yellows and Browns.  This awesome hop is sponsored by the awesome Spectrum Noir.  You should have found your way to me by the awesome Isha!

For my card, I pulled out some papers from Lawn Fawn's Sweater Weather 6x6 pad.  One of my favorites for sure!  I die cut both pieces of pattern papers I chose from the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies!  Love these too!  They make a card quick and simple!  I stamped out my sunflower from Our Friendship Grows, and colored my flowers using some yellows and browns, with a 'dash' of orange to bring it all together.  Once I was done coloring my flower, I die cut it out using the coordinating die, and added some shimmer using the Wink of Stella brush marker ( I am addicted). Then, I stamped out my sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and cut it down to fit on my card and popped it up with foam adhesive!
OK - time to send you off to Lenny! I am sure she has something awesome for you to feast your eyes on!!

Be sure to leave comments for your chance to win some awesome Spectrum Noir Markers!

See you soon!

Lawnscaping FIT August Blog Hop

It is the end of August!!  OH. MY. WORD!  That is craziness isn't it!?  Hello, everyone!  Welcome to another blog hop featuring the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team aka the FIT team :)

This hop is sponsored by the fabulous Spectrum Noir!!

You should have found your way to me by the uber talented Isha!  I am sure she had something fabulous to feast your eyes on!

For my card - I went a simple route.  I was thinking ombre all the way!

This month we are inspired by Warm Grays and Pinks - so I took a few of the warm gray markers and colored from lightest to darkest on my white card stock.  This is pretty much a one layer card minus my sentiment :)  After getting the grays down I took the Chevron Backdrop stamp set and stamped the thicker of the chevron stamps in Memento Luxe Pigment inks in Rose Bud, Love Letter and Lilac Posies.  For something "extra" to my chevrons I just added a stitched detail with my Memento Tuxedo Black marker.  For my sentiment I stamped the 'Thinking of You' speech bubble from Chit Chat, and inked that up in the Lilac Posies and Love Letter inks again, and then die cut it out using the coordinating die and of course it screamed " I need shimmer" so I used my clear Wink of Stella to do just that!  To finish off the card I rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper with the 3/8" setting.

It wouldn't take no time at all to whip up a few of these to keep on hand :)  Well, its time for me to send you off on the next stop...my girl Lenny!  Be sure to leave comment love along the way for a chance to win some of these awesome Spectrum Noir Markers!!

See you soon!

Lawnscaping FIT JULY Blog Hop ( sponsored by Spectrum Noir)

Hi folks!!  Happy Friday!  Welcome to another blog hop brought to your by the Lawnscaping FB Inspiration Team.  This month for our blog hop sponsored by the awesome Spectrum Noir, we are inspired by Yellows.

You should have found your way to me by the fun, and awesome Isha!  I am sure she had something fun to feast your eyes on!!
Here is my card...

A perfect summer set is "Make Lemonade" from Lawn Fawn.  I don't ink it up as much as I should.  These are cute images.  Of course, when I think of summer I think of  lemonade.  I wanted to incorporate as much as this set together as I could.  I stamped out the lemon image in Lemon Yellow Mid Tone Shadow ink from Hero Arts on my die cut piece of white card stock using the Postage Edge dies from Simon Says Stamp. The, I worked on my pitcher and glass of Lemonade coloring them in various shades of yellow alcohol markers, and when I was done, it needed shimmer...so I added some Wink of Stella!!

Be sure to leave a comment as Spectrum Noir is going to be giving away some of the awesome markers!
OK - time to send you off for some more fun projects - next up - Lenny!

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Have a great weekend!

Lawnscaping FB Inspiration Team MAY Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies! Welcome to another Blog Hop brought to you by the Lawnscaping FB Inspiration Team sponsored by Spectrum Noir.

This month we are inspired by Purples and Cool Grays.  You should have found your way to me by the fun and talented Isha!

Here is my card for this month's hop!

For my card I used the "Dream" mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I first stamped out 3 of the larger feathers and two of the smaller feathers all in VersaMark, and then I coated it in silver embossing powder.  I used my Milwaukee heat tool to heat set the embossing powder, and then it was time to add some pretty purple colors to my background.  I used Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord - and my mini ink blending tool and blended the two colors onto my background.  Once I was done and happy with my results, I used my mini spritzer bottle and sprayed water in my hand and flicked the water with my fingers on my Distressed background to give it some texture. I then added Wink of Stella to my feathers for some shimmer, and stamped my sentiment "You Inspire Me"  from the set Flutter By in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.  I added my main panel to a scalloped frame cut from the Femme Frames by Mama Elephant, and adhered both of those pieces to a Blue Violet card base.  To finish everything off, I added some PPP sequins.

Hope you are enjoying the hop so far!!  It is time for me to send you off sweet Lenny!

See you soon!

Lawnscaping Winter Blog Hop!!

Hello, Hello!!  Welcome to the Lawnscaping Winter Blog Hop!!  You should have come my way by the talented Nancy Thomas.  If you have gotten lost along the way, never fear you can head back to the Lawnscaping Blog to find you way back on track.

I'm so tickled you are visiting me today along this fun event from Lawnscaping!  I'm am especially honored and proud to be apart of this being a member of the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team.  There are a ton of talent along your journey, so be sure to visit each and every person!  There will be lots of inspiration, and not to mention prizes and giveaways!

"Meow-y Christimas" :)  Since I am a cat lover and a fur baby mama to two cats, Katie and Daisy - this was fitting for me to create !  I used 5 different LF stamp sets for this card!  Winter in the Park, A Birdie Told Me, Harold's ABC's, Hats off to you, and Critters in the Burbs.  I used my favorite dies for my cards - the Femme Frames from Mama Elephant, and I started by stamping on the smaller panel the light posts, and the park bench.  I actually did some masking, but after I paper pieced my kitty, I realized I really didn't need to.  No biggie!  I stamped  out some snowflakes from the Winter in the Park set and white embossed it, and then added some Tumbled Glass Distress ink to bring out the snow flakes.  One of my favorite techniques is emboss resist!
Then, I started working on paper piecing my kitty cat, and the Santa hat.  By this point, my kitty is pretty festive!!

I started working on my sentiment, which is as you see is a customized sentiment.  I stamped and die cut one of the speech bubbles from A Birdie Told me, and used Harold's ABC's and stamped out my sentiment - "Meow-y Christmas!".  I added some Liquid Applique to the park bench and ground to add extra texture and fun.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the bows on the lights, and kitty's hat.

I die cut the largest scalloped frame from Femme Frames from some pattern paper from the Peace, Joy, Love 6x6 pad, and then adhered my panel to the patterned paper, and then adhered that to my black stock card base.

Fun huh!!  Well - its time to send you off to your next stop along the hop to the talented Heidi!  :)
