Lawnscaping Winter Blog Hop!!

Hello, Hello!!  Welcome to the Lawnscaping Winter Blog Hop!!  You should have come my way by the talented Nancy Thomas.  If you have gotten lost along the way, never fear you can head back to the Lawnscaping Blog to find you way back on track.

I'm so tickled you are visiting me today along this fun event from Lawnscaping!  I'm am especially honored and proud to be apart of this being a member of the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team.  There are a ton of talent along your journey, so be sure to visit each and every person!  There will be lots of inspiration, and not to mention prizes and giveaways!

"Meow-y Christimas" :)  Since I am a cat lover and a fur baby mama to two cats, Katie and Daisy - this was fitting for me to create !  I used 5 different LF stamp sets for this card!  Winter in the Park, A Birdie Told Me, Harold's ABC's, Hats off to you, and Critters in the Burbs.  I used my favorite dies for my cards - the Femme Frames from Mama Elephant, and I started by stamping on the smaller panel the light posts, and the park bench.  I actually did some masking, but after I paper pieced my kitty, I realized I really didn't need to.  No biggie!  I stamped  out some snowflakes from the Winter in the Park set and white embossed it, and then added some Tumbled Glass Distress ink to bring out the snow flakes.  One of my favorite techniques is emboss resist!
Then, I started working on paper piecing my kitty cat, and the Santa hat.  By this point, my kitty is pretty festive!!

I started working on my sentiment, which is as you see is a customized sentiment.  I stamped and die cut one of the speech bubbles from A Birdie Told me, and used Harold's ABC's and stamped out my sentiment - "Meow-y Christmas!".  I added some Liquid Applique to the park bench and ground to add extra texture and fun.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the bows on the lights, and kitty's hat.

I die cut the largest scalloped frame from Femme Frames from some pattern paper from the Peace, Joy, Love 6x6 pad, and then adhered my panel to the patterned paper, and then adhered that to my black stock card base.

Fun huh!!  Well - its time to send you off to your next stop along the hop to the talented Heidi!  :)

LSC #66 - Monochromatic

Hi all!  I am a little tardy getting my post up for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge - but I did get it up in the same day - so it counts, right??

This one was a bit of a challenge for me - but I think I handled it well!!  What do you all think??

I used one of my favorite back ground building stamps - "Interlocking Backdrops" and stamped it out onto a Crisp Cantaloupe card base using Crisp Cantaloupe ink - I also got out my " A Birdie Told Me" set and stamped the biggest word bubble onto some pattern paper from the "Yes, Please" 6x6 paper pad from Amy Tangerine/AC. My sentiment comes from the "Many Thanks" set from LF.  I stamped out that cute little birdie onto a strip of washi of the same color combo that I am trying to achieve and I stamped it using some Staz-On Ink and then used the coordinating die.  For some finishing touches, I added some enamel dots and some Lawn Trimmings twine.

Be sure to take some time out and get crafty with us and submit your projects to this challenge!!  There will be some awesome inspiration on the blog with the design team, and also be sure to check in with Facebook and visit Lawnscapings Facebook page for the LF Facebook Inspiration Team's inspiration as well!!

See you over at the blog!!  Have fun!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 57 Bling It!

'Ello every one.  Whew! It feels like a long time since I have gotten crafty, and posted to my blog.  The last few weeks have been a bit of a trying situation for me.  I became sick with a respiratory infection, and then I severely sprained my ankle, and have been recovering from that.  Needless to say, I haven't felt good, or had the time to do much when it comes to being creative.  So - today, I wanted to change that.  First let me say, Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and grandmother's out there!  Hope your day has been fantastic!

Now - onto my submission for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  It feels like forever since I have been able to "play" because all through the month of April I was honored to be a Guest Designer! So - I am a player once again.  This time it is all about "Bling".

I wanted to keep my card simple, and not try so hard to come up with some uber- fantastic....I have mentioned in a post before...sometimes I try to go in deep depths of card making to come up with something fabulous, when sometimes the most simple card designs do the trick too.  So...here it 'tis

I used these dies to die cut some glittered card stock from a DCWV stack I had in my stash.  Then, I inked up sentiments from this set using Staz-On black ink. My card is an A2 standard size card, and I used papers from this 6x6 paper pad.  I adhered my papers to my white card base, and used foam adhesive to pop up my speech bubbles.  To finish off my card, I did some faux stitching with a black glitter pen from Sakura.  Quick, simple. and I love it!

Here is a closer look at the "blingy" sentiments.

See you soon!!
Kari

LSC#53 Stamp a Scene

Hi!!  I'm returning today on the blog to share with you my card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  This one was really fun!!  Well - they all are :)  I am always wanting to "think outside the box" on these challenges, and this one is no exception.

For this card - my inspiration was my mom.  She is the book reader in my family and she loves owls - so I thought this card would be fun to give her and submit for this challenge. It was a fairly simple card - the longest part with making it would be of course stamping out the custom sentiments.  I used some of the pattern paper from the Dewey Decimal 6x6 paper pad.  I stamped out my owl from "Critters in the Forest", and did some "altering" on his eyes to make them look like he is a surprised owl. Then, I stamped, cut out and colored my little bird from "A Birdie Told Me" set. The, I used "Harold's ABC's" for the custom sentiments " You're cool for reading books" - "Who Me"??

I know how much my mother LOVES her books, and I envy her for that.  I am more of a magazine girl! HA!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!!
