Making a Card : Sealed with a Kiss | Lawn Fawn

Hello Friends!!  Today I am sharing this card using the Lawn Fawn mini set, Sealed with a kiss!  This set was a Black Friday promotion only, but I am sure at a later date, LF will release this set for all to enjoy!!

I did a bit of shadowing on these two adorable seals with my C3 Copic marker and added some dot detail to really bring the seals to life.

I also used some more of the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland papers.

I love the detail to the cheeks of that right seal!!  So cute!!  You could easily use a blush colored marker to add this, but it is fun to stamp it as well!!

To see how I put this one together - I have the video below!  And, as always the supplies are listed below as well!  Have a great day!

LSC #91 Patterned Paper

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the first challenge for October 2014 for Lawnscaping! We are focusing on using pattern papers and there lots of great ones out right now!  Of course, I used the newest ones from Lawn Fawn and you can pick these papers up along with so many other awesome finds from our sponsor Simon Says Stamp!  They are wonderful to give the winner a $25 gift certificate to their store!

Here is my card that I made and I didn't do any stamping!  I used pattern papers from LF's Snow Day 6x6 paper pad.  To create the layers, I used the Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables dies - I love these!!  I am obsessed frame dies right now!

For my sentiment - I used this adorable "Merry" wood veneer - and these are exclusive to Simon Says Stamp.  They are in Kristina Werner's handwriting!  LOVE! To add a bit of something extra ( not that it really needs it) and added some of Wink of Stella glitter pen :)

I hope this has inspired you to get out your pattern papers!  I know for me - I need to use them more often instead of hanging on to them!  We buy these things to use!! I have to keep reminding myself of that sometimes - LOL!  Thank you all for stopping by today!!  Hope you have a great week!!

LSC# 75 Dots & Hearts

Welcome back to a new challenge over at Lawnscaping!  I think a lot of us like heart or polka dots or both!  So - in this challenge you get to use one or both in your project!!

Here is what I came up with!

I used both in my card!  I just love these birds and thought they particularly would be a cute addition because their wings look like hearts.  I also used the heart strip die that comes with the Stitched Journaling Card die, and added some pattern papers from the new 6x6 pad Hello Sunshine!

This month is an exciting one as the new releases are going to be available at Simon Says Stamp!  And - they are our wonderful sponsor for this challenge!!!

Here is a closer look at my love birds :)

I hope to see all of your wonderful ideas on how to use heart and dots!!  See you over at Lawnscaping!

FAN-tastic!

OK - I know I have been a little quiet on the blog...a post here...and post there....but you know how it is....Important thing is...I have another card to share....and it isn't for a challenge!!! Can you believe it?!?!

Sometimes, you just gotta PLAY...and that is what I've been doing for a little bit this Friday evening.  So - for this card I am playing with one of the new stamp sets from Sweet Stamp Shop called "Spin Me".  I got it mainly for the fan image in this set.  I think overall this is an adorable set, and there are many ideas that you could get creating with it.

I'll tell ya...I am obsessed....I am obsessed with this "pool" blue color lately.  It has made its way in the last 4 or 5 card I've made!  Not only that, but it was the nail color I had on ( before I changed it today), its my new phone cover, its in decor I have at work...everywhere...its a lovely color, and I thought it went so lovely in the card and design!

This stamp set, and this color - FAN-FREAKIN- TASTIC! :)

Have a great weekend!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 57 Bling It!

'Ello every one.  Whew! It feels like a long time since I have gotten crafty, and posted to my blog.  The last few weeks have been a bit of a trying situation for me.  I became sick with a respiratory infection, and then I severely sprained my ankle, and have been recovering from that.  Needless to say, I haven't felt good, or had the time to do much when it comes to being creative.  So - today, I wanted to change that.  First let me say, Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and grandmother's out there!  Hope your day has been fantastic!

Now - onto my submission for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  It feels like forever since I have been able to "play" because all through the month of April I was honored to be a Guest Designer! So - I am a player once again.  This time it is all about "Bling".

I wanted to keep my card simple, and not try so hard to come up with some uber- fantastic....I have mentioned in a post before...sometimes I try to go in deep depths of card making to come up with something fabulous, when sometimes the most simple card designs do the trick too.  So...here it 'tis

I used these dies to die cut some glittered card stock from a DCWV stack I had in my stash.  Then, I inked up sentiments from this set using Staz-On black ink. My card is an A2 standard size card, and I used papers from this 6x6 paper pad.  I adhered my papers to my white card base, and used foam adhesive to pop up my speech bubbles.  To finish off my card, I did some faux stitching with a black glitter pen from Sakura.  Quick, simple. and I love it!

Here is a closer look at the "blingy" sentiments.

See you soon!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #54- Stitching

Hello all!  I am back to share with you my submission for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  It is all about stitching whether is faux, by hand or by a sewing machine.  Personally, I am not sewer, but I have done a little in the past.  I don't do it on my cards hardly ever - but its a fun change to add something new to my card designs.

For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's set - "Happy Easter".  What a cute set this is! AND - you can use it so much more than for Easter cards.  I started out my stamping in Versa  mark ink my "hopping lines".  I needed a guide to paper pierce my holes for my hand stitching.  Then, I went to town with my hand stitching.  It was fun to have this fun element on my card.  Then, I stamped and paper pieced using various pattern papers for my bunny, one of my clouds and my sun and one of the Easter eggs for some fun patterns on my card.  I had die cut some clouds previous that I didn't use and decided to add them to this card.  I changed the "Happy Easter" sentiment slightly by using Sally's ABC's and inserting one of the Easter eggs for a fun element to the sentiment.  I like mixing up different fonts in the sentiments too.
I added some yellow Stickles to the sun, and Star Dust Stickles to the egg - and for the bunny's tail - I added some white Liquid Applique for a "puffy" tail.

Thanks for stopping in!!

CAS-ual Friday - #71 Fall Fun

Hope all of you are having a good Monday - I won't even go into the Monday I am having - so I will digress and share with all of you my project for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  You can tell around my area that fall is here - the cooler temps, the turning of the leaves - my favorite time of the year.  So - it was fun to create this fall themed card!

I started out with a 4.25 square piece of Vintage Cream card stock from PTI - and used my Hero Arts Woodgrain background stamp to add texture to my card stock.  I stamped out some leaves from Stampin' Up cling set called "Gently Falling" - this is actually a two step stamp set - but I just used the outlined portion.  I stamped out all of my leaves onto pattern paper that I purchased from Michael's that is a 6 x 6 pad from AC.  I then "fussy cut" out all of the leaves.   I added some pretty Glitter tape from AC as well as some Perfect Pearls Mists for some shine and shimmer to my fall card.  My sentiment comes from a Lawn Fawn set called Many Thanks.  The stamp is actually one line - but I stamped it out into a two lined sentiment.  I punched that out with a Stampin Up punch - I forget the name of this punch ( sorry).

Here is a close up of the shimmer if you can see it.

Are the fall colors turning where you live????  It would be fun to capture that in pictures :)

Lawnscaping Challenge # 35 Patterned Paper

Well, it is late for me, and I really need to get to bed, but I know myself, and if I didn't get this done - I would be restless.  I will be short though :)  This week over at Lawnscaping  - we have been asked to use patterned paper for our projects this week.

For my card I used " Dad's Day", " Critters in the Burbs", " Stay Tuned", and "Fanciful Frames".  I did some reverse stamping to my "TV" and did the "kissing" technique for some interest on the sofa chair.  My pattern papers come from Lawn Fawn's 6 x 6 Bright Side, and My Minds Eye The Bright Side ( that was by a fluke of course ).  My little frame comes from Studio Calico - the wood veneer frames.   I added some glossy accents to the TV screen.  I tell ya - the reverse technique with solid images is much harder than with lined images - but I got it to work.

I had fun creating this little scene.  The kitty cat reminds me of my Katie - here is a picture of her

She is the queen of the house for sure ( or she thinks she is)  She has definite personality :)

OK!  I am heading to bed!!  Be back soon!!

Night!

My obsession with 6 x 6 paper pads

I have a confession...actually I have confessed this before, but I wanted to dedicate a full post about it :o)  They are small, they are compact, they are simply wonderful, they are 6 x 6 paper packs!  They are so wonderful for card makers, like myself, and so many manufacturers are producing them now!!  I have to say that my favorite is My Mind's Eye!  Their papers are so gorgeous, and so yummy!!  There is no way in this world I will ever use all of this paper, but just knowing that it is in arms reach, just brings a simple smile to my face!  I have discovered some others manufacturers I like - Simple Stories comes to mind.  Their line FabUlous is right up my alley with the color palette.  Fancy Pants and Basic Grey are others that I like a lot.  My small obsession is growing and growing, and its seems that it is turning into a hoarding issue.  :o)  Of course this ever changing, but here is a pic of my collection - and as I am writing this, I've bought more today online to add to this collection of mine.

**Since posting this last night, I decided to share an updated picture with you on how much my collection has grown.  This first picture is from a few months ago, and the second is what it is currently**  :o)

I must say that I sometimes feel guilty buying more, but not enough to stop!!  hahaha.  It doesn't hurt anyone, and it makes me happy - goes right along with my happiness of creating!!

So - let me hear from you!  What is your crafting obsession - what is the one product you have that you can't get enough of!!  I'd love to hear from who ever would like to share with me!!!
