Holiday Card Series| Day 4 | KWCardDesign

Hello all!  Sorry for the break in posts the last week, but I took a little break from blogging and videos to celebrate my birthday last weekend - I took a trip to St. Louis, MO for a shopping trip at IKEA! I've been so excited to go since I learned there was going to be one 3 hours away from me - believe me that is close compared to the one that was over 8!

Anyway - I am back to continue to my Holiday Card Series for 2015 with this card.

I used stencil from Heidi Swapp to create my inked background using Distress Inks, then I added shimmer to my polka dots with a little Mister Huey Shine mist.  I die cut that panel using the stitched Femme Frames from Mama Elephant, and also die cut a piece of pattern paper from Lawn Fawn with the scalloped frame from the same die set.  I also die cut three pieces of white card stock using the Jingle Snowflakes die from Simon Says Stamp.  I wanted my top piece to be gold - so I heat embossed it with some WOW embossing powder.  My sentiment comes from My Favorite Things - I love this font.  All the supplies used are listed below!

Below is the video tutorial!!  Enjoy!!

Lawnscaping FIT Team DECEMBER Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to the final Lawnscaping FIT Team Monthly Blog Hop for 2014!  This month we are focusing and inspired by Greens and Turquoise colors!!  Thank you to Spectrum Noir for sponsoring this hop once again!!  You should have found your way to me by Isha, who is super talented!!

Here is my card for this hop!  I wanted to make something simple, but was colorful.  I chose the stamp set "Wish You Were Here" and what a perfect way to represent these colors than this stamp set.  I chose the globe image.  I wanted to have fun and do something different than just coloring in the image.  So I chose to use two colors of embossing powders - both from WOW!

I die cut a piece of PTI Stampers Select white card stock ( my favorite) and used the circle stitched die from Simon Says Stamp.  Then, I inked up my globe image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Usually when I emboss, I use my VersaMark Ink, but I really couldn't do that for what I wanted to do, so the next best thing is the VersaMarkER - I color in the areas I wanted blue, added the blue embossing powder, heat to set with my Milwaukee Heat Tool,  and then moved on to the green areas and repeated the same process.  I set my main panel aside, and worked on my card base which is the same white card stock.  I wanted a subtle background and I absolutely love the Tiny Star background from Hero Arts.  I inked it up in Wet Cement ink from Hero Arts.  Then, I worked on my sentiment - I masked off "World" because I wanted it in green, and inked up the rest of the sentiment in my VersaFine Black ink, stamped it down, then masked off the other parts of the sentiment except "World" and stamped in in Green Hills ink, also from Hero Arts.  I wanted it to stand out a bit more, so I took my Copic Multi Liner and outlined it, and it really made it pop!  It was time to add my main focal point, so I added some foam adhesive and adhered it to my card base.

So Fun, and colorful too!!  Now, its time for me to send you off to Lenny - I am sure she has something awesome in store as well!!  Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win some products from Spectrum Noir!!  Take care and see you in the New Year!!

Lawn Fawn Fawny Holiday Week Day #3

Hi everyone!! I am so honored and thrilled to be apart of Lawn Fawn's Fawny Holiday Week! The Lawn Fawn and Lawnscaping DT's have teamed up and there are so many wonderful talented ladies, and I hope you've enjoyed all of the wonderful inspiration so far!  OH! And...there are prizes - so be sure to leave comments for your chance to win!

For my card, I wanted to use the Stitched Snowflakes dies. I die cut three of them and I wanted to add some shine and sparkle, so I applied my Versa Mark Ink pad directly onto the snowflakes, and then I added some Ultra Shimmer WOW Embossing Powder, and then I heat set them.  They are so pretty in person!! I also used some scraps I had of the Snow Day 6x6 paper pad.  I had used the red snowflake pattern on a previous project when I die cut it with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables - I used the largest die and had a strip of it left, so I used that as well the teal snow falling pattern, probably one of my favorites from the pack and I adhered both strips directly to my red card base.  I wanted a pop of white other than the snow flakes, so I used the largest Stitched Scallop Border die and added that to the teal pattern paper to give it a finished edge.  For my sentiment, I used the 'Joyful Wishes' from Joy to the Woods stamp set.  I strategically inked it up in Versa Fine Onyx Black ink so it would the sentiment wouldn't be in one line.  Then, it was time to adhere my snow flakes, and to finish them off I added some Hero Arts gems and I used a red sequin from my stash to the largest snow flake.

I like how simple this card is, but elegant at the same time!!  Thank you again to Lawn Fawn for the pure joy of being apart of this wonderful week!!  Happy Fawny Holidays!!
