Miss You!

Hi blog readers.  Sorry I have been sporadic with with my posts lately.  So much going on with life, that its hard to keep up sometimes. Today I wanted to pop in and share with you a card I made for a dear friend, and co-worker who is leaving and taking a new job.  I will miss my friend so much not being able to see her everyday - but I know this opportunity will benefit her in so many ways - so for that, I am happy for her!

Here is my card....

I used the new Summer Seasonal Distress Inks, and added some Dylusions Pure Sunshine ink spray and blended it all together on my Ranger craft sheet - and liberally sprayed some water onto the ink - and "mopped" it up with some watercolor paper.  I loved how this rainbow of colors turned out.  I used my Blossom punch from SU! to punch out my flower.  I used THIS punch, and some blue glitter tape from AC to add something extra to this long note card from HA.  I love these cards, because they come with envelopes!!  I added my sentiment using some Thickers, and finished it off with some faux stitching.

I believe my friend will love this card.  She was and still is so supportive with my card making.  I'm so happy to call her a dear friend!!

LF Challenge # 36 Color Splash

Back again for another submission for the Lawnscaping Challenge.  What a fun challenge this go round.  Make a card or project with neutral tones - and then add that splash of color!!  I never know what I will come up with from one project to the next.  This one is one of those times!  I was thinking of what I had in my "stash" and I remembered that I had bought some Honey Pop paper.  If you have never seen this stuff - it is so neat.  Inky Antics has stamps that coordinate with this paper.

So - I thought I would use it to make a hot air balloon for my splash of color!  I used LF's "Sunny Skies" to stamp out my ribbon flags from the balloon , and my sentiment " Reach for the Sky"

Such a happy card, don't you think?!  I punched out some clouds with my Fiskars cloud punches - and used pattern papers from My Mind's Eye - On the Bright Side.

Well - it is getting late for me - and need to wind down for the night.  See you all back here soon!

CFC#57 Challenge: Clear as Day

Helloooo!  Kari back with you to share a card I have made for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  I haven't submitted an entry to this challenge for a few weeks, and thought I would get back into the swing of things.  I haven't had the CAS mojo, so I opted out for a little bit.  This week challenges us to use either acetate or vellum on our projects.  I have only made a few "clear" cards - and they CAN be challenging.  So - I thought I would break out my acetate - and THIS is what I came up with.

It is very warm afternoon here - and I was inspired by the birds that take a bird bath on a hot summer day.  So - I have these cute card stock stickers from Echo Park's Hello Summer line.  I first punched out some cloud images from masking paper, and applied them to my white card stock insert.  I then used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and applied it to my card stock to create my sky.  I removed my masks - and you are left with a beautiful sky.  I took the adorable bird on a limb sticker and applied it to the outside of my acetate card and put some pop dots to create some dimension between my white card stock insert and my acetate card base.  I then added this cute butterfly sticker to add a bit more of color.  My sentiment is from Unity and Authentique called Direction of Happy.

Here is another look at my card.

I hope that you are having a nice fulfilled weekend!!

Popping up to say..

Afternoon!! I wanted to share another card I made for the Lawnscaping Challenge.  I had this idea in my head - and thought it worked well for the current challenge.  For this card, I used Lawn Fawn sets - "Love 'n Breakfast", "Sophie's Sentiments", "Critters on the Farm", and "Make Lemonade".

I also made this card for a friend's daughter who's basketball team bagged groceries one Sat. afternoon for charity.  Mom wanted a 'Thank You' card to give to the management team of the grocery store that allowed them to do this.  My patterned papers come from the 6 x 6 pad by Echo Park - Happy Days.  I used a little brown envelope to represent the "grocery bag" and this came from Hobby Lobby.  I inked up all my images with Memento Tuxedo Black  ink and used my Copic markers.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend - and a happy week ahead!!

Good For You!

Well, I thought I would share with all of you just a card I made for a friend/co worker.  It has been a while since I have shared a card that wasn't made for a challenge blog - and I need to get back into doing that.  After all - I didn't start doing this hobby just for challenge blogs - I did it because I enjoy making cards for all occasions.  So - this card features the stamps by  Hero Arts - You're the Best.  I wanted to make it simple, but elegant.  I used my own ribbon for the tails - to make it seem a bit more realistic.  I made this over a month ago - so I apologize, but I am not sure which papers I used for this card.  I did emboss the card base - and I added some gems to "glam" it up a bit.

The recipient of this card got her Masters in Nursing.  She is such an awesome girl.  She has worked so hard for a very long time.  Congrats, Amy!!

Be back soon!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 35 Patterned Paper

Well, it is late for me, and I really need to get to bed, but I know myself, and if I didn't get this done - I would be restless.  I will be short though :)  This week over at Lawnscaping  - we have been asked to use patterned paper for our projects this week.

For my card I used " Dad's Day", " Critters in the Burbs", " Stay Tuned", and "Fanciful Frames".  I did some reverse stamping to my "TV" and did the "kissing" technique for some interest on the sofa chair.  My pattern papers come from Lawn Fawn's 6 x 6 Bright Side, and My Minds Eye The Bright Side ( that was by a fluke of course ).  My little frame comes from Studio Calico - the wood veneer frames.   I added some glossy accents to the TV screen.  I tell ya - the reverse technique with solid images is much harder than with lined images - but I got it to work.

I had fun creating this little scene.  The kitty cat reminds me of my Katie - here is a picture of her

She is the queen of the house for sure ( or she thinks she is)  She has definite personality :)

OK!  I am heading to bed!!  Be back soon!!

Night!

Lawnscaping Challenge# 34 - Embossing

Hello!!  It is time for another fun challenge over at Lawnscaping!  This time it is all about embossing.  First, let me say, I am obsessed with Instagram - and I thought it would be a cute idea to turn the polaroid from Lawn Fawn's "Say Cheese" into an Instagram camera.  So - I did a few things by hand ( which is amazing within itself - I can't draw to save my life).  I first drew the colorful Instagram lines on the camera.  Then, I made my own mini polaroid.  This may have been done before - I am not sure, but I think its so stinkin' cute!!

I created a "love bird" scene with the birds from "Gnome Sweet Gnome", added the tiny little heart from " Plus One" and my sentiment comes from "Grand Greetings".  I did two types of embossing.  I did dry embossing, but with a twist.  I inked up my tiny hearts embossing folder with "Love Letter" Memento Ink, and then dry embossed my card stock.  I heat embossed both my camera, and my little birdies.  For dimension, I added pop dots to both my camera/polaroid, and my sentiment.  I hope you all think its as cute as I do!!

Hi all!  I wasn't expecting to make a post today - but I wanted to share with all of you my first RAK from Sharon Martinelli ( smscrapper ).  I wasn't expecting do receive anything from her at all.  I know I should do a video showing all the stuff here in detail - but honestly - don't have time for a video right now, and I wanted to acknowledge Sharon the day I received it - SO - Sharon!!!  Thank you girl so much for all the nice goodies!!  I love all the trims, and such you've sent me.  I don't buy trims and little flowers like this on my own - so its neat to be able to see what I can do with these!  You're card is gorgeous!!  So much detail!!  I'm in awe!!!!  I appreciate you thinking of me so much!!  You've made my day!!!

You're awesome and I thank you so much for thinking of  me!!!  I love it all!

Flying By....

Hi Friends - I'm on a roll - can't stop me now... **grin**  Back to share with you a card I finished for a challenge going on over at Paper Smooches - a Card stock challenge..  Make a card using nothing but card stock - no patterned paper. Sometimes that is harder for me than anything, because I {heart} my 6 x 6 paper pads - and I've got enough to last me for a lifetime.

I am also submitting this into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  So -  this was another fun challenge for me.  I just made my scene with PS set "Metropolis".  I know at times I have a "lead foot" - so I "ran" with the idea of this cute lil car speeding down the road.  He's got good intentions though - he's speeding to make it into this challenges and saying "hi" at the same time!  HAHA.

I used not only this PS set - I used a couple of Lawn Fawn sets - like " Flying by" for part of the sentiment, and " You've Got Mail"  - the wavy lines to represent the car speeding by.  :o)  The "Hi" sentiment comes from PS "Word Up".

Have a great day everyone!

CFC# 51 - Happy Birthday!

Monday, Monday...I'm actually enjoying Monday today as I am on vacation, and free to be crafty a little bit more this week than usual.  This morning, I wanted to share my card for this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  Over at the blog, they are celebrating their 1st birthday.  So - its all about making birthday cards!!

Who doesn't love getting a birthday card - and to me birthday cards are suppose to be colorful!  Since its CAS-ual Friday's birthday, I wanted to incorporate the logo's birthday colors - blue and yellow.  I love this embossing folder!  And - I thought the sentiment went well with the occasion.  It comes from Stampology.  I stamped my balloons from one of my Fiskars stamp sets ( sorry, I don't have the name on this set).

So - Happy Birthday CAS-ual Fridays!!  Here to many more happy birthdays and fun challenges. :o)

Have a great day, everyone!

A Rainy Day Challenge - Lily Pad Cards/SSS

Hi Friends - **This is my second post today - **

I'm getting all of my challenge submissions done today - and this time I am back with the latest SSS challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  Make a card representing rain, or rain related.  I got out my "Ain't Love Grand" hostess set from SU!.  It has this cute umbrella image in it.  I wanted to do a emboss resist technique, and I did that with the water drop from the Lawn Fawn set " Plus One".  The Distress Inks I used were Tumbled Glass, and Chipped Sapphire.

My sentiment also comes from Lawn Fawn - but from the set " On the Mend".  You can't really tell in the photo, but I added some glaze gel pen to the water puddles.  I finished off the card with some Twinery Twine.  If I was feeling down or blue - getting this card would perk up my spirits for sure.  :o)

ABNH- Topsy Turvy Challenge#3

Good Sunday afternoon!!  I am sharing with all of you today my first submission to ABNH ( A Blog Named Hero) for the Topsy Turvy Challenge.  Use a sentiment as something other than a sentiment.  So - I was looking through all of my Hero Arts stamp sets - and saw a rainbow - and it clicked in my head!!  Make a rainbow using different sentiments!!  This was so much fun to create!!  I love color - and rainbows!!

So I took sentiments from these Hero Arts sets - "Sky's the Limit", and "Friends".  All my inks are Memento ink colors.  I love Memento as you all know!  When I got the the bottom of my rainbow - I didn't have a sentiment that was short enough to curve around to finish off the rainbow - so  I saw the "moon" image on the "Sky's the Limit" set - and though perfect!!

This was a fun challenge!  I look forward to all the creativity that comes out of this one!!  Everyone get crafty and see what you can do with it!!  :o)

** On a side note** - I am on vacation all this week from work - and I'm so happy to have the time off to enjoy some crafty time, and just the break in general!

Take Care!!
