RAK from Yainea!

Real quickly I wanted to share with all of you the sweet RAK I received from Yainea today!  First - If you guys don't know who she is - she is one of the DT members of Lawn Fawn.  I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She is UBER talented!!  I first fell in love with her style when I saw THIS card.  It took my breath away - and it tugged at my heart strings, because I have two "fur babies" of my own and they remind me so much of them!!  Well over the last 6 months or so, I've had the pleasure of becoming friends with Yainea, and we've sent cards and "goodies" to each other, and really hit it off.

Well - today I checked my mail, and what did I see - a RAK from my sweet friend!  I asked her if she still had that wonderful card she made with the two kitty cats, and she said she did!!  I was happy to hear that she still had it and hopes she is displaying it proudly in her craft area.  To my surprise - I too, have one now! She remade that card just for me, and I am in awe!!

She also sent to me a couple of Copics ( which we both love, but can guarantee you she uses them better than I do )  :o) and also some washi!  This washi came all the way from Spain!!  I am tickled pink by her sweetness and generosity!

Yainea!  You rock girl!  I hope that this post doesn't embarrass you!!  I just wanted to spread the word how awesome you are!!  People that love Lawn Fawn will know how awesome you are anyway with all the beautiful projects you make!

OK - I will be back tomorrow with that HAPPY news I mentioned on Monday that I would share!!!  :o)

Sending Warm Thoughts...

YAY! It's getting closer to Friday - and I couldn't be happier about it.  I have some fun plans for the weekend - so I am ready to get it started.  First things first though - I thought I would share a card today that ISN'T a challenge submission!!  A good 'ole fashion card share!!  My card features supplies from Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit.  I have had this kit for several weeks now - and I am just now diving into it.  Sometimes creativity isn't an instant thing - it takes time for creative juices to flow - for me at least!

I started out stamping out a background onto this kraft paper which is Neenah Desert Storm card stock.  I used my new set from Lawn Fawn - Belinda's Borders.  I love this set - and I can't wait to use it for many uses in the future!  Then, I just cut strips from the pattern paper that was in the kit - this line is from Basic Grey - Paper Cottage.  I adhered everything to my kraft card stock and then stamped out my sentiment  from the stamp set that comes in the kit in Memento Ink - Espresso Truffle .  This is one of the main reasons why I purchased the kit to begin with - this set is created by Kristina Werner.  She is so awesome, and her handwriting is so lovely!!

This lovely button comes from Chari Moss' Etsy Shop.  If you are not familiar with her - she is on the Design Team for Lawn Fawn.  She is a sweet, sweet girl - and awesome designer!!  She makes these handcrafted buttons in many colors and styles, and now has dyed ribbon to go with her buttons.  You should check out her blog/Etsy shop!!  She's fantastic!!

Pretty simple card  really  - but colorful and happy!!  My favorite kind!!

I'll return soon  - until then stay happy and crafty!!

CFC#61 - Let's Strip

Happy Sat. everyone!!  So happy it is the weekend - but like every weekend, it will go like the speed of light!!  So - I am taking advantage as much as I can and doing a little crafting today.  I'd like to share with you what I am submitting into the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  Use strips of card stock, pattern paper, washi tape - what ever you can think of to create a clean and simple project.

I thought it would be fun to use strips of AC glitter tape to mimic the flash of a camera - so I first stamped my beloved Polaroid camera image from one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets - Say Cheese

I stamped my camera onto on yummy chevron pattern paper from Amy Tangerine- Sketch Book line from AC.  My sentiment actually comes from the sticker element sheet from Simple Stories - Fab-U-lous.

To finish off - just added some faux stitching to tie everything together.  Pretty fun card.  Hope the girls at CAS-ual Fridays like it, too :)  Have a nice rest of the weekend everyone.  Do some crafting - or whatever makes YOU happy!!

See you soon!

Thank you again to Lawnscaping for allowing me to do this!!  It was so much fun - and I hope to do it again soon!!

Enjoy :)

LSC Submission #2

Well, I'm back again this morning with another submission for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge.  After I created my first card for this challenge - I had another idea in my head, and I didn't want to lose it, so I went to work, and this is my second card.  I went in a different direction with this card - bright, colorful and cheery.

With this card - I created my "pattern paper" using washi tape.  I have four different colors of this diagonal washi tape, and created this background, and to give it something a bit extra - I embossed it with my swiss dots embossing folder using my Cuttlebug.  I used the Lawn Fawn set Year One, and I embossed the birthday cake in white over some papers from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side 6 x6 pad.  I stamped out my birthday sentiment from this same set in Tangelo ink from Memento, and for an extra fun element added a mini clothespin from SU!  I put everything on dimensionals - because after all this challenge is about dimension.  To finish off, I added some Lawn Trimmings from Lawn Fawn and some Yellow Stickles for the candles.

Here is another look at my card for the dimension....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  Happy Crafting!!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 37 - Use Dimension

Happy Sunday my friends!! It is time for another LSC - and its all about dimension on your project!  Dimension is so much fun, because it makes your card/ or page come alive!  For my card, I used LF set You've Got Mail.  I stamped out two postcard images - one for the postcard itself, and one to represent an envelope. I used some Old Paper Distress Ink to make them look vintage,  and then added some text from my Newspaper Background stamp from Hero Arts.  I added some fun air mail washi to my postcard!  Loved this washi tape when I saw it on Etsy. :)  I added some paper from the new line from Kaiser Craft - Check -IN to my card base.

I used SU dimensionals for my first layer ( my envelope), and then some pop dots from AC for the second layer.  For another fun element, I used a mini paper clip.  This one was a fun one for me.  They all are though really - who am I kidding :)  It is suppose to be fun!  :)

See you soon!!

CFC#59 - Round and Round

Good Afternoon bloggers - First - To all the Canadians out there - Happy Canada Day!  I'm back to share with you my submission for the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge - Round and Round.  Isn't there a song with that title??  Anyway, the challenge is to make a clean and simple card incorporating two circles - I technically  used more - but the circles are intertwined :)  I used a SU! background stamp for my design.  Check it out.

I heat embossed my background onto different colored card stocks from both SU! and Paper Trey Ink. I applied my color block panel with dimensional adhesive onto my card base which is Simon Says Stamp 120 lb weight card stock.  My sentiment comes from Stampendous called Happy Messages.  I also adhered that to my card with dimensional adhesive.   Pretty simple card - but the different colored card stocks really makes this card in my opinion.

Here is another look -

Thanks for stopping in!!  Have a nice rest of the weekend!!

Miss You!

Hi blog readers.  Sorry I have been sporadic with with my posts lately.  So much going on with life, that its hard to keep up sometimes. Today I wanted to pop in and share with you a card I made for a dear friend, and co-worker who is leaving and taking a new job.  I will miss my friend so much not being able to see her everyday - but I know this opportunity will benefit her in so many ways - so for that, I am happy for her!

Here is my card....

I used the new Summer Seasonal Distress Inks, and added some Dylusions Pure Sunshine ink spray and blended it all together on my Ranger craft sheet - and liberally sprayed some water onto the ink - and "mopped" it up with some watercolor paper.  I loved how this rainbow of colors turned out.  I used my Blossom punch from SU! to punch out my flower.  I used THIS punch, and some blue glitter tape from AC to add something extra to this long note card from HA.  I love these cards, because they come with envelopes!!  I added my sentiment using some Thickers, and finished it off with some faux stitching.

I believe my friend will love this card.  She was and still is so supportive with my card making.  I'm so happy to call her a dear friend!!

LF Challenge # 36 Color Splash

Back again for another submission for the Lawnscaping Challenge.  What a fun challenge this go round.  Make a card or project with neutral tones - and then add that splash of color!!  I never know what I will come up with from one project to the next.  This one is one of those times!  I was thinking of what I had in my "stash" and I remembered that I had bought some Honey Pop paper.  If you have never seen this stuff - it is so neat.  Inky Antics has stamps that coordinate with this paper.

So - I thought I would use it to make a hot air balloon for my splash of color!  I used LF's "Sunny Skies" to stamp out my ribbon flags from the balloon , and my sentiment " Reach for the Sky"

Such a happy card, don't you think?!  I punched out some clouds with my Fiskars cloud punches - and used pattern papers from My Mind's Eye - On the Bright Side.

Well - it is getting late for me - and need to wind down for the night.  See you all back here soon!

Happy Father's Day

Hi all! I wanted to pop in real quickly and wish all of the dad's out there a wonderful Father's Day.  Here is the card I made for my dad - who LOVES his chair.  It is the reason why I bought this Lawn Fawn set. :)

There will be a video tutorial on how I did the chair very soon!  Have a great day!!

CFC#57 Challenge: Clear as Day

Helloooo!  Kari back with you to share a card I have made for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  I haven't submitted an entry to this challenge for a few weeks, and thought I would get back into the swing of things.  I haven't had the CAS mojo, so I opted out for a little bit.  This week challenges us to use either acetate or vellum on our projects.  I have only made a few "clear" cards - and they CAN be challenging.  So - I thought I would break out my acetate - and THIS is what I came up with.

It is very warm afternoon here - and I was inspired by the birds that take a bird bath on a hot summer day.  So - I have these cute card stock stickers from Echo Park's Hello Summer line.  I first punched out some cloud images from masking paper, and applied them to my white card stock insert.  I then used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and applied it to my card stock to create my sky.  I removed my masks - and you are left with a beautiful sky.  I took the adorable bird on a limb sticker and applied it to the outside of my acetate card and put some pop dots to create some dimension between my white card stock insert and my acetate card base.  I then added this cute butterfly sticker to add a bit more of color.  My sentiment is from Unity and Authentique called Direction of Happy.

Here is another look at my card.

I hope that you are having a nice fulfilled weekend!!

Popping up to say..

Afternoon!! I wanted to share another card I made for the Lawnscaping Challenge.  I had this idea in my head - and thought it worked well for the current challenge.  For this card, I used Lawn Fawn sets - "Love 'n Breakfast", "Sophie's Sentiments", "Critters on the Farm", and "Make Lemonade".

I also made this card for a friend's daughter who's basketball team bagged groceries one Sat. afternoon for charity.  Mom wanted a 'Thank You' card to give to the management team of the grocery store that allowed them to do this.  My patterned papers come from the 6 x 6 pad by Echo Park - Happy Days.  I used a little brown envelope to represent the "grocery bag" and this came from Hobby Lobby.  I inked up all my images with Memento Tuxedo Black  ink and used my Copic markers.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend - and a happy week ahead!!
