CAS-ual Friday Challenge # 67 - Banners/Flags

Good Evening my friends - I wanted to share with you my submission for the latest CFC - Banners and Flags.  I haven't played with CAS-ual Fridays in several weeks - and thought this would be a fun one!!  I will just get right into it.  I used my Stampin' Up Mini Banner Framelits to die cut out several different pattern papers from the Echo Park Sweet Day 6 x 6 pad.

I adhered all of my banners to a piece of Kraft card stock and, then I dry embossed the whole panel with my Herringbone embossing folder.  It gives the effect that the banners are already in the kraft card stock!!  Love this look.  I made my own custom sentiment with some Hero Arts Micro White Letters.  I did use my Copic marker in Prawn R24.  I used dimensionals to adhere my sentiment to my card panel, and then adhered that to my SSS 120 lb. card base.

Here is closer look at the embossing.

This card would be a great card for a student, since school is just starting!!  It would be a great encouragement card to keep them motivated through the upcoming school year!!

Have a great remainder of the weekend!!!

You make my day BRIGHTER!

HELLOOO! I'm back to share with you my submission for the LSC - Make your own Pattern Paper and the YCU Challenge - Hot Trends.  It feels like forever since I play in the Lawnscaping Challenge!!  I was honored however to be a guest designer in last week's challenge!! I will treasure that forever!! This is the first time that I have submitted for the YCU challenge.  Today's card you sure can't miss for sure!! Neon is a trend that is coming back!! I feel like the 80's child I was all over again!!  Check it out!

I started out by creating a neon background with my deco tape, not washi tape.  I still would like to have some neon washi tape, because it is easier to work with.  I need to use this tape up though.  The stamps I used was Lawn Fawn's How Delightful, one of a couple of Lawn Fawn sets I hadn't used yet.  I heat embossed the "shine" images in white - stamped out the light bulb in Versa Fine black ink, and the lamp shade "pull" in Rose Bud Memento Ink.  This set has a sentiment "You make my day brighter" but I wanted the sentiment to bigger- so I recreated it with Harold's ABC's and some white sticker letters.

Here is another look at my card:

I love these challenges, because I love Lawn Fawn and these bright colors!!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthdays!!

Hi all!!  Sorry I have been MIA other than posting for Sweet Stamp Shop's August Release.  Hope you all enjoyed the release!!  It was fun seeing all the DT projects and being active for my first DT!!  OK- switching gears here!!  Thought I would post three birthday cards I've made recently.  These birthdays happened all within the last week!! Two on the same day :)  Here is a look at card #1.

This card features a Gina K. Designs set called Holiday Basket.  I just LOVE this basket - so much fun to play with!!  I also used the sunflowers in this set.  I colored directly on the stamp of the sunflowers with various colors of Memento markers.  I colored the leaves with Copic marker G05.  I stamped the basket directly onto my card base, and stamped it again onto some pattern paper from the Basic Grey 6 x6 paper line Shine On - it was a line exclusively for Joann craft stores.  I added some dimensionals to pop it off the card.  I added a few embellishments to tie everything together - like the copper brads on the basket - a button in the middle, and used some hemp twine and tied a bow and added it to the single sunflower.  I added some sunburst washi tape.  My sentiment is from Lawn Fawn - Grand Greetings.

OK- Card #2

This card was a simple card to make but with lots of color!  The fun element to this card is of course the cassette tape.  It is from a set from TPC Studios - Retro.  The pattern paper comes from Amy Tan's Sketchbook.  For the sentiment - I added some various Thickers :)  Quick and simple!!

Card #3

This card features The Stamps of Life set Candy2share.  The border on this card was cut using this die from Memory Box.  Love this design!!!  The pattern paper that is behind the die is from the same Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad Shine On.  The birthday sentiment comes from Studio Calico Hey Day sentiments.  You can't use this candy images without using some glossy accents to bring the to life!!  Such a fun and happy card!!  Here is a closer look at the glossy accents on the candy - it really makes the shine!

Hope you all like these three totally different birthday cards!!!   They were fun to make and even more enjoyable - giving to them to the recipients with a smile on their face!

Sweet Stamp Shop August Release -Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of Sweet Stamp Shop's August Release!! You are on track if you came my way by the lovely and of course talented Misty.  Today is the day to showcase another awesome set - Pattern Craze!!!!  I KNOW this one will be another home run hit with everyone!!  Nicole has done it again - and on trend!!  Hexagons is the name of the game with this set!!

I wanted to show case these hexagons in a different way!  Hexagon balloons :)  I took a regular tag, and embossed it to give the tag some texture.  Then took three of the Hexagon patterns and added some fun bright colors to them, and put them together in a balloon cluster.  I added some twine from Timeless Twine, and then added the cute little "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Scootin' By.

I added some Stickles to compliment the hexagon patterns!!  Here is another look at my tag.

I know that all of you have enjoyed all the DT samples of this set!! It is so much fun to play with!!  Now, don't forget to leave comments along the way - there is a SWEET prize pack just waitin' to be won!!!  You're next stop is the  SUPER AWESOME Nicole :)

Happy Friday :)

Sweet Stamp Shop AUGUST Release Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to Sweet Stamp Shop's August Release Blog Hop!  This week the Design Team will be showing you sneak peeks of the new sets that will be released this week!!  You will love the new sets!!  If you came to me by the way of the talented Jamie, then you are on the right track.  If you get a little off track though, no worries - just head back to Sweet Stamp Shop's blog, and it will be very easy to pick up where you left off or here is the order for reference:

Today we are giving you a taste of the new set Lil Peps.  Yes - you read that right - and it is not a typo - :o)
In my card I wanted to share that you could make a project by creating a background with one of the smaller of the stamps in this set - the pair of hearts - and for my background I also heat embossed  with white embossing powder to make them pop off of my pink card stock.  I know that this set will be a sure hit with everyone because of this cute camera ( among the other cute images)!!  I decided to make a "trendy camera" by stamping it onto some Chevron patterned paper.  I don't know if you can tell in my photo - but on the camera it says "LOVE" in the upper left hand corner!

I wanted the camera lens to be centered in on one of the hearts - and one of the sentiments in this set is perfectly paired with this camera - "Snapshot of Love".  I popped up both my sentiment and my camera with dimensionals - and I added some cute polka dot ribbon to tie everything together.  Here is another closer look at my card.

Hope you are having fun on this blog hop!!!!  You're next stop will be the awesome Nicole!!!  Be sure to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some awesome prizes!!!

GUEST DT SPOT! Lawnscaping Challenge #39 - One Layer

Helloooo!!!  Boy am I excited for this Lawnscaping Challenge to begin!  I've waited to share this wonderful opportunity with all of you for weeks now!!  I was asked by the wonderful Laurel, and the other DT members at Lawnscaping to be a Guest Designer for this challenge!  What a challenge it is!  One Layer!!  First, before I go any further - let me also say that this challenge is sponsored by the fantabulous ( is that a word - it is now) Simon Says Stamp!!  My favorite online store for sure!!

For my card - I took LF stamp sets Blissful Botanicals and Flutter By and created a floral fusion!!  I did some masking on this card because I knew going in, that of course I wanted to create the illusion of dimension, but keeping with the one layer theme!!  I used some Distress Inks in "Mowed Lawn", "Picked Raspberry", "Peacock Feathers", and "Squeezed Lemonade".  I colored with my blender pen and used these colors to bring some life into my flowers.

I created a bright pink scalloped border for the end of my card to break up between my card base, and stamped panel.   I am proud of the way this card turned out!!!  Actually, it is the first time I have inked up both LF stamp sets!!  Thought it would be a VERY good time to break them in!!

What an honor this is for me!!  Thanks again to Laurel and the Lawnscaping family for this opportunity!!  I will never forget it!!

OK- now its your turn!!  What kind of ONE LAYER magic will you make!!  Get your stamps, ink and creativity ready!!  Most of all- have fun!!

RAK from Yainea!

Real quickly I wanted to share with all of you the sweet RAK I received from Yainea today!  First - If you guys don't know who she is - she is one of the DT members of Lawn Fawn.  I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She is UBER talented!!  I first fell in love with her style when I saw THIS card.  It took my breath away - and it tugged at my heart strings, because I have two "fur babies" of my own and they remind me so much of them!!  Well over the last 6 months or so, I've had the pleasure of becoming friends with Yainea, and we've sent cards and "goodies" to each other, and really hit it off.

Well - today I checked my mail, and what did I see - a RAK from my sweet friend!  I asked her if she still had that wonderful card she made with the two kitty cats, and she said she did!!  I was happy to hear that she still had it and hopes she is displaying it proudly in her craft area.  To my surprise - I too, have one now! She remade that card just for me, and I am in awe!!

She also sent to me a couple of Copics ( which we both love, but can guarantee you she uses them better than I do )  :o) and also some washi!  This washi came all the way from Spain!!  I am tickled pink by her sweetness and generosity!

Yainea!  You rock girl!  I hope that this post doesn't embarrass you!!  I just wanted to spread the word how awesome you are!!  People that love Lawn Fawn will know how awesome you are anyway with all the beautiful projects you make!

OK - I will be back tomorrow with that HAPPY news I mentioned on Monday that I would share!!!  :o)

Sending Warm Thoughts...

YAY! It's getting closer to Friday - and I couldn't be happier about it.  I have some fun plans for the weekend - so I am ready to get it started.  First things first though - I thought I would share a card today that ISN'T a challenge submission!!  A good 'ole fashion card share!!  My card features supplies from Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit.  I have had this kit for several weeks now - and I am just now diving into it.  Sometimes creativity isn't an instant thing - it takes time for creative juices to flow - for me at least!

I started out stamping out a background onto this kraft paper which is Neenah Desert Storm card stock.  I used my new set from Lawn Fawn - Belinda's Borders.  I love this set - and I can't wait to use it for many uses in the future!  Then, I just cut strips from the pattern paper that was in the kit - this line is from Basic Grey - Paper Cottage.  I adhered everything to my kraft card stock and then stamped out my sentiment  from the stamp set that comes in the kit in Memento Ink - Espresso Truffle .  This is one of the main reasons why I purchased the kit to begin with - this set is created by Kristina Werner.  She is so awesome, and her handwriting is so lovely!!

This lovely button comes from Chari Moss' Etsy Shop.  If you are not familiar with her - she is on the Design Team for Lawn Fawn.  She is a sweet, sweet girl - and awesome designer!!  She makes these handcrafted buttons in many colors and styles, and now has dyed ribbon to go with her buttons.  You should check out her blog/Etsy shop!!  She's fantastic!!

Pretty simple card  really  - but colorful and happy!!  My favorite kind!!

I'll return soon  - until then stay happy and crafty!!

CFC#61 - Let's Strip

Happy Sat. everyone!!  So happy it is the weekend - but like every weekend, it will go like the speed of light!!  So - I am taking advantage as much as I can and doing a little crafting today.  I'd like to share with you what I am submitting into the latest CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  Use strips of card stock, pattern paper, washi tape - what ever you can think of to create a clean and simple project.

I thought it would be fun to use strips of AC glitter tape to mimic the flash of a camera - so I first stamped my beloved Polaroid camera image from one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets - Say Cheese

I stamped my camera onto on yummy chevron pattern paper from Amy Tangerine- Sketch Book line from AC.  My sentiment actually comes from the sticker element sheet from Simple Stories - Fab-U-lous.

To finish off - just added some faux stitching to tie everything together.  Pretty fun card.  Hope the girls at CAS-ual Fridays like it, too :)  Have a nice rest of the weekend everyone.  Do some crafting - or whatever makes YOU happy!!

See you soon!
