Holiday Card Series| Day 3| KWCardDesign

Hello everyone!  Welcome to Day 3 of my HCS for 2015.  Today, I wanted to step a way from the traditional Christmas colors.  I created this background from two Distress Ink colors - Peacock Feathers and Blue Sketch.  These colors together create the perfect wintry color combo I think.  I also wanted to play with a new stencil that came in the Create A Smile Snow Dance kit,( which is sold out unfortunately) and also wanted to use some glitter paste that I recently purchased.

Of course the video tutorial is below and all supplies used that I could link to are below for you as well. I will be back soon for Day 4!  Thanks for stopping by!!

LSC #108 Stars & Stripes ( Sadly, my last challenge post for the FIT )

Hi all and welcome to a new challenge for Lawnscaping!  This time you get to choose whether you'd like to feature Stars or Stripes or both on your project!!  And, of course how fun is it to have Lawn Fawn as the sponsor!!  Great timing too, as their new release just launched!  And, such awesome stuff I must add!

So for my card, I chose to use both stars and stripes.  I chose to use Best Pun Ever, and I wanted to make a row of fun popsicles  and two could even be fudge bars...( white and dark choc. perhaps ) *wink*  So I die cut a piece of Vintage Cream card stock from one of the Stitched Square Stackables, I also used the same frames but slightly different size and die cut a piece of vellum, and I sat that piece aside.  I stamped out 3 of the smaller popsicles, and two of the large, and then I chose some pattern papers from the Beach Side Patterns and Polka Mon Amie 6x6 paper pads to paper piece, and then I colored in the sticks with two Copic Markers - E13 and E37

How fun are these!!??  Once I was finished with my popsicles, I stamped out my sentiment from the same stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I applied some foam adhesive to the back of my main panel, and I applied just some regular tape runner adhesive to my vellum piece, and all of that got adhered to a Mint Card base which I stamped my star background using Teeny Tiny Backdrops.

For finishing touches, I applied some sequins, and some Wink of Stella to my popsicles!

Before I go - I just wanted to quickly say how I've enjoyed being apart of the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team.  I had been on the team since its inception 2 years ago. I worked with such wonderful talented ladies!!  Sadly, my term will be ending at the end of this month, but before I say goodbye, I will bring you one more monthly blog hop!!  Thank you Laurel for a wonderful and happy two years!!  Maybe in the future I can say hello again on the Lawnscaping Design Team!!  *grin*

PPP Sequin Shaker Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having a happy weekend so far!!  Today, I thought I would participate in the Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Blog Hop.  Honestly, I didn't think I would be able to participate because I have a busy weekend - mostly doing other craft things, but I just started making a sequin shaker, and loved how it turned out, so of course I didn't want to miss the opportunity to link my card up!!

This is my card for the blog hop.  It is a fun, vibrate colored card!  I started out taking some Tim Holtz Watercolor card stock, and I used a few colors of Distress Stains - and I applied them directly to my card stock. I added a bit of water to get the colors melding into one another, and I heat set it to speed up the drying time.  I just loved how vibrate the colors turned out.  I then took this piece and die cut it using some of my Framelits that I sadly do not remember the name of at the moment.  I die cut also a piece of acetate, a piece of yellow patterned paper from the Let's Polka 6x6 pad from Lawn Fawn, and also a black frame using some Licorice card stock from Bazzill.   I had to strategically place my foam adhesive around my die cut pieces as this is not a normal size for a shaker, but it worked out. Once I added my mm PPP Sparking Clear Sequins, I added my acetate, and then my black frame.  I then adhered my shaker piece to the yellow patterned paper.  I cut a piece of card stock and made my card base to be a 5 inch square card.  I used a Hero Arts background stamp along with some Rose Bud Memento ink on my card base, and then die cut some black scallop borders using the LF Stitched Scallop Border Die.  I adhered my shaker to my card base, and then I die cut the "Hello" sentiment using the Hello Die from LF and adhered it straight down in the middle of my shaker.

I think it turned out better that I originally imagined!  Hope you having fun either participating in the hop, or just looking at all the fun shakers and getting inspiration!!

Have a great day!

Holiday Wishes

Happy Monday :)  We are just days away from Christmas!  Hard to believe, but I welcome it!!  I wanted to share with you this card I made over a couple of weekends ago.  I wanted to use some of my favorite patterned papers from this season from Crate Paper - Bundled Up.

These colors are no traditional but that is why I love it so much - fun and different!!  I just love these papers!!  I used my favorite dies - the Femme Frames from Mama Elephant yet again ( yes - I am obsessed) and also used the Wrapped Mailing Label Die from Simon Says Stamp for my middle panel on my card.  With a mixture of small embellies, and crocheted ribbon this makes for a fun over Holiday card.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays :)

It's my birthday!! Be Merry and Bright!

Hello lovelies!
I wanted to pop in today quickly and share with you one of the cards I had the chance to create this weekend during the long Thanksgiving holiday!

Today is my birthday - I am ....thirty - flooaghoahd - HAHA!  Seriously - I am turning 37 today! WOW! Where DOES the time go??

I've been blessed with numerous happy birthday wishes and love from my family and friends.  I feel blessed!

I am really liking this trend where you create "wonky" panels on cards - its different and fun!  So - I wanted to make my own creation this way.  I took some pattern papers from the "Bundle Up" Collection from Crate Paper - LOVE this paper!! I die cut it from the scallop frame from Mama Elephant - Femme Frames - again - I'm obsessed!!
I adhered my die cut panel to some Simon Says Stamp Wood grain card stock which is my base.  I die cut a banner from the small banners die also from Simon Says Stamp, and I stamped and heat embossed  " & Bright" from the Merry and Bright greeting that comes in the Small Folded Banners Holiday stamp set from SSS.  I love the wood elements that SSS came out with last year and I had some left over, so I used the "Merry" to complete my sentiment. To finish off my card, I just added some fun sequin embellishments from Lawn Fawn.

Well - gonna wrap this up and go celebrate as if were my birthday :) *grin*

LSC # 70 Polka Dots

Happy Monday everyone!!  'Tis time!  'Tis time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Can you believe it!  This month is flying by!!
For this challenge - we are focusing on that fun polka dots!  There are so many patterns, and colors that incorporate polka dots!  Big small, random, colorful - as long as there is a polka dot pattern - we want you to use it!

And, for this challenge this is what I came up with!

I had fun making this card! I have fun making all my cards - but for specifically for this one I had fun coming up with different polka dot patterns to mix and match together! I used papers from the Peace Joy Love 6x6 paper pad ( the black polka dot and the green bokah pattern) and the other two patterns come from the Crate paper Bundled Up 6x6 collection - I love these papers in the pad!

I stamped and die cute the banners from the Winter Gifts stamp set and the matching dies Tag, You're It. I adhered all my banners to a piece of white card stock, and then stamped at the top and "stitching" image from a Simon Says Stamp stamp set.  To "ground" the white card stock panel to the kraft card base, I cut some thin strips of black card stock and adhered it to the card.  For a fun element - instead of the reinforce circles for the tags, I added some fun sequins also from the Peace Joy Love collection.

To finish it off - I added my sentiment "Happy Holiday's" and a snowflake and one more sequins on top.

Simple card - but I think it is fun with all the polka dots and fun festive colors!!  I hope you are able to join us over at the blog!!  Our awesome sponsor is none other than the incredible Lawn Fawn!!

See you soon!
