Happy Easter!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to pop in real quick and wish all of you a wonderful Easter! I also would like to share another card reject from the latest Call Submission with Paper Crafts magazine.  I think I liked this card the most!

I did one of my favorite techniques - the emboss resist!  I used the SSS March Card kit stamp set and heat embossed it in white, and then took Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink and inked up my stamped panel.  For the "Hello" sentiment, I die cut the letters from these dies from Lawn Fawn.  I embossed my card base from a Lifestyle crafts embossing folder, and adhered my stamped panel to my card base - and then added some ribbon I had in my stash that matched perfectly!!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a wonderful Sunday!

CFC#93 Color Block

*This is my second post today* Scroll down if you are here to see the LSC post*

SUCH a long time since I have played along with the CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  This challenge looked interesting to me since I LOVE color - its all about creating a clean and simple card featuring a color block.  This gave me a fun chance to play with my new PTI "HELLO" die from their latest release. I thought it would be fun to use some of my EVER growing washi collection too!

I picked out some solid washi tape colors which coincidentally is also the colors for the PlayDate Cafe Challenge for this week - so I am also entering this card into that challenge also.  So - I put down my washi tape on a piece of white card stock that I had in my scrap pile, and die cut my "hello" sentiment.  I adhered it to my white cardbase, and added some gems that went well with my washi tape colors.  I had a section of the color blocked washi left and I thought it would be fun to adhere it to the top left of my card to round out everything.

Hope everyone has a nice rest of the weekend!!  See you back here on the blog soon!

Lawnscaping Challenge - Coloring

Annndddd I'm back to share with you my take on the Lawnscaping Challenge for this week : Coloring.  So - What is cuter an a cow??  How about a SPINNING COW!  YEP - I did a spinning cow.  I couldn't resist.

I colored and cut out my cow from Critters on the Farm - adhered to pennies with dimensionals, and added him to the track die cut from my Movers and Spinners Die from PTI.  I paper pieced the barn with My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side papers that had the distressed wood look. I thought it really made the barn come alive!  I colored in the barn doors and added a colored hay bail.  I added a fence with my Martha Stewart punch, and adhered everything to my Lucky Limeade card base from SU!.   What's so fun about this card is that you can spin him and he is intended to do, or just "manually" move him up and down the track as if he was "grazing"  hehehe.  Hope you think this card is as fun as I do!!!  Thanks for "rollin" in  :o)   ( OK - I'll stop)  :o)

Friday night is alright...

Hi all!- I'm feeling a bit better, and wanted to share a card with you since I haven't in a week or so.  This time I have a "Happy Anniversary" card I made in the beginning of this month (March) for my Stampin' Up Demo, Margaret.  A few of us ladies went to Pleasant Hope, MO for a scrappin' and craft event the day of her wedding anniversary, and I knew since her day was spent with us, instead of her hubby, I wanted to make her a card.

These individual heart images are embossed - Here is a closer look.

I used one of the Fancy Tags Nestibilities Dies, and patterned paper from the Restoration 6 X 6 pad by Crate Paper.  Margaret loved it.

I hope to continue on the road to feeling better.  I think I will.  This weekend I plan to continue to rest up, and most certainly, I am going to make some cards, and be crafty.  I am overdue!!

Night!

Making people smile...

Hi my blog readers!  How is everyone Sat. evening going??  Well, I have been spoiled in some regards, but frankly I deserve the time off.  I took some time off to have some "mental health" re coop time, and some time to spend with my mom.  My mom has been under the weather lately, and since the rough winter weather we had just a few weeks back, I hadn't had the chance to go see her.  So- I made her a card instead.  I think she liked it.  Who can resist this 'lil duck??  I had a sneakin' suspicion that she would like him.

I tried my hand at some more Copic coloring.  I'm still learning, but what I love about these markers, whether you are just beginning or a  professional, your image always comes out looking so nice!!! This sweet image is another Gina K. Designs stamp set.  I also used some of the "Fancy tags" from Nestabilities.

Tonight it is going to be short and sweet.  Night everyone!

Keep your friends close...

Hi crafters and blog readers!- I'm back late this evening with a new card share.  I have a friend that is also my co- worker that is transferring dept. and I wanted to make her a card just to let her know that I will miss her, but I'm happy for her new venture.  Like most of the cards I make- I make on a whim.  Sometimes I have an idea, but most of the time I just randomly grab my paper, inks, and other supplies and see what comes of it.  I like most of all the cards I make, but this one, feels some what different for me. Not sure why, but I like it!!  I'm glad that we are half way in the week, and looking to the weekend.  It is suppose to be warmer temps here.  I hope so, for my hubby's sake.  He has been wanting to play golf, and it is so much harder during the winter months.
Anyway- back to my card- I kind got off track there, didn't I?  So sorry- here is tonight's card.

It was time to use some more scraps.  I am trying so hard to use things that haven't been used yet, before I get into new paper.  I have many die cuts, and other embellishments, not to mention a lot of scrap card stock that needs to be used.  I am sure I am not telling you paper crafters anything new when it comes to scraps.  The only thing new I used for this card is the embossing folder that looks like buttons at the bottom, other than that the butterfly and the handmade flower I have been meaning to use for a long while, but felt I didn't have a place for them, till now! Hope you all like this card as I do.  I need to wrap up this post for tonight.  I'm gonna get something to calm my sweet tooth and then head to bed.  Night my friends!!

WOW- can't believe Christmas is almost here...

Hi all!- I haven't posted or shared anything with you since Sunday, so I thought I better.  I can relax for a few days and enjoy some time off from work now.  It has been like a zoo at work for the last few days.  We are getting ready for some changes in our dept, and you can see and feel the difference right now.  It seems tempers, moods are always heightened during this time of year.  I guess, because of all the hustle and bustle, and more stress that is added on, we tend to get testy with others, which is sad, because it seems we all should be in some of the happiest moods of the year...Well, moving on from that, how about a card share!  Let us see what I have for you all today.....

I was able to use some of the Stampin' Up DSP ( designer series paper) that I recently purchased on this card.  My husband said in the middle of the die cut piece that it looked like snowflakes.  I really liked the layered look about this card.  It turned out nice.  Well- in the future, for those of you that like You Tube- I will soon be doing some tutorials.  I won't lie!  I am nervous about it all.  I honestly do not like the way I sound on recorded video, or phone msgs.  Anything that I can hear my voice on playback, I just say EEEKKK...  :o(  It is funny, you always sound different to yourself in your head...teehee.

Well- nonetheless, be on the look out for videos in the future.  I am waiting on my camcorder to be quite frank.  My husband actually bought me one for Christmas, and we both didn't like it.  It seemed cheaply made, and found something else.  We are getting a Creative Vado HD pocket camcorder.  This thing has several good and high reviews, so it should be worth the money ( which isn't bad by the way) and the wait!!

Well- I am going to call it a night.  Stay safe out there for those of you that have been procrastinating on buying Christmas gifts... ( that would be me- but nothing major to get).  Night my friends!

Another start to another week

It is Monday, and I am happy that I am posting this after I have finished my work day!  I have to admit that today flew by, which is really good!  Hope that your weekend was filled with lots of smiles, and relaxation.  I spent some quality time with my hubby and a friend of ours in Springfield!  We always seem to have a good time!
Today's card is focused on the different embellishments I used for flowers.  I thought it would be fun to use paper flowers, buttons and gem stones, and make them into their own different flowers.  Of course, I started with my base, which is Concord Crush cardstock from Stampin' Up!.  Then, I took some pattern paper from a paper pad I bought at Big Lots and used my punch from Martha Stewart.  I just used the corner punch for this, but there is an additional punch that allows to you punch all around the page with the same pattern.  I, then took a label die cut that I had and sponged the edges with wild honey Distress Ink to give the edges some color and pop.  I stamped onto my label die cut my flower stems from my Stampin' Up! stamp set "For Everything", and then added the gemstone, paper flower and button for the flower tops.  Last, I just added an "hello" greeting.  Hope this card inspires those to use different embellishments in different ways.  Until next time!  Be good to one another!
