Holiday Card Series 2016 | Card #6 | KWCardDesign

Hi and welcome to another card in my HCS for 2016!  Today, I wanted to create a more simple card focusing around the sentiment, but amping  up the card with embellishments and sparkle!

I started with a piece of distress water color card stock, and I had this previously die cut and wanted to use this panel since it was available in my stash.  So I prepped my panel with my power tool and put my panel in my MISTI stamping tool.  I am stamping onto textured water color paper, so this ensures that I get a great stamped impression.  I inked up my Merry Christmas stamp from Simon Says Stamp with versa mark ink, and coated my sentiment with the Hero Arts white embossing powder, and I used my heat tool to set.

Then, I wanted to give my sentiment some color with the Candied Apple Distress ink, so I brushed plain water all over my panel, and onto my plastic palette from Art Impressions, I smooshed some of the ink on the palette, and took my paint brush, and brushed on the color to create a water colored panel.

I wanted some extra depth to my red, so I added some Barn Door Distress ink as well, I did heat set in between layers.  Then, once I was happy with the color, I sprayed some shimmer mist to give some slight shimmer my panel and I set aside.

I then die cut a piece of Silver Sparkle card stock from MFT, using a rectangle die from the Hero Arts Infinity Dies, and also a piece of New Leaf Card stock from PTI using a stitched frame die from Right At Home.

I added some shimmery red ribbon in my stash to the bottom of the panel and added the panel backed with the silver sparkle card stock and added some foam tape to that.  and adhered it to my green die cut panel.  Then, I added all of that to my white card base, also from PTI. To finish, I added a felt holly leaf embellishment to tie in the green of the card stock.

Holiday Card Series 2016 | Card #4 | KWCardDesign

Hi and welcome to Card #4 in my HCS for 2016!  Today, I am featuring some dies from Ellen Hutson and My Favorite Things.

I started out by prepping a piece of water color card stock with my anti static powder tool.  Then, I inked up my background stamp from Hero Arts called Handdrawn Snowflakes, and embossed it with my favorite white embossing powder.  I then took my stitched frame die from Right At Home and it gives my panel and nice stitched detail all around.

I took my Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and I inked all over majority of my panel and kept the edges white.  Since we embossed the background, it resisted the ink, and the white snowflakes appear nice and white in the background.

For my die cuts, I used a beautiful die from Ellen Hutson from the Essentials by Ellen line called Leaping Deer.  I am in love with this die!!  I had previously embossed the same background and embossed it with silver and it left the die cut with a beautiful extra detail.  I wanted my deer to have dimension, so I die cut the deer four more times out of the same Pure Poppy card stock.

I adhered them together with my Multi Matte Medium adhesive, and it created a nice thick die cut embellishment.

For my sentiment, I die cut from some Smoke card stock from SSS using this Merry Christmas die from MFT.  It is a nice scripty font!  I also die cut this several times to give it dimension.  I adhered all of my elements to my panel, and then I adhered that to my card base made from Fog card stock, also from SSS.

For a final touch , I added some shimmer using ( what else) my Wink of Stella shimmer pen. I love this classy look of how this card turned out!  All the supplies I used are listed/linked below!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll return soon for card #5!

Holiday Card Series | Card #2 | KWCardDesign

Hello, and welcome to card #2 in my Holiday Card Series for 2016.  Today I am playing with the lovely set from Sunny Studio Stamps called Holiday Style.  To me, this is a must have for the season!  So many great elements to great fun and elegant Holiday/Christmas cards.

I used all Lawn Fawn inks on my card as I love how they stamp, and I love the colors!  I started off my stamping my branch from the set onto a piece of smooth white card stock, and used my Misti Stamping tool for precise placement of my image.  I love this tool and it has helped me a lot creating different cards.

I used two green from Lawn Fawn - Jalapeno and Noble Fir.  Once I was happy with the look of my branches, I moved onto the sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, and I inked it up with Lobster ink.  It is one of my favorite reds!

Then, I moved onto stamping out my jingle bell.  This jingle bell is so cool once you put all of the stages together.  It looks so realistic!!    I used 2 gray inks and one black for this - Manatee, Hippo, and Black Licorice.

Then. I stamped out my bow, and used three reds - Guava, Lobster and Chili Pepper.
I did use the matching dies to die cut these images as I wanted to create a bit of dimension to this card.  I glued down the "hook" and then added foam tape to the jingle bell and the bow and adhered to my panel.

Then, it was time to add my panel to my red scalloped frame which was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle dies.  Then, I adhered that to my white card base.  I decided to go a head and stamp out a sentiment on the inside.

And, for a final touch I added some shimmer to my bow using the Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.

I love the classic look of this card!!  I hope you do too!  I have the products I used linked below and also the How To: Video :)

See you back here soon for Card #3!
