Holiday Card Series 2016 | Card #1 | KWCardDesign

Hi and welcome to my first card for my Holiday Card Series for 2016!!  It is crazy that we are thinking about the holiday already!  This year has flown by!!

Today, I wanted to start off my series with this adorable set from Neat and Tangled called Beary Merry.  I also wanted to use some of the wonderful plaid papers from Lawn Fawn.

I started by inking up my images onto a piece of Vintage Cream card stock and using my Mini Misti to get the best possible impressions.  I love my mini Misti - it really has been a great tool to have in my craft room!!

I wanted to use my Copics to color this adorable bear, so I started out by using E43 but didn't like that result, so I switched gears and used E15 as my lightest shade and then used my E 37 to add some contrast and darken up around the edges.

I used R22, R29 and R39 for the main part of the present, and then used BG11 and BG 13 for the bow, and YG 09, YG41 and G02 for the tag.  I used some of the plaid papers from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Christmas and chose a green plaid to paper piece the bear's scarf.

I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangles dies to cut a piece of more plaid pattern paper for the focal panel, and one of the Mini Stitched Scalloped Rectangles from MFT and die cut a piece of my Vintage Cream card stock.

I stamped my sentiment from the same Neat and Tangled set using my MFT Black Hybrid ink, and then placed some foam tape onto my bear as well as the framed pieced.

For the final touches I used my black glaze pen on the bears nose and eyes, and then some Wink of Stella shimmer pen for the bow on the present.

Love this bear!  He was fun to play with!!  Thanks for stopping in for the first card of my HCS!  I will be back soon for Card #2!  Have a great day!!

Baby Shower Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Hi my friends -
I wanted to drop in and share a baby card I made for a co worker.  She asked me to make a baby shower card for one of her friends, and of course I was happy to do it!  I actually made this on Monday evening - so no video tutorial on this one.  I usually make my videos on the weekends as I have more time to dedicate to the whole process, but I still wanted to share!

I thought it turned out cute!!

I love using felt for this cute bunnies!!  It just adds that much more to them.  I have made a few cards with these bunnies in felt, and I love them each and every time!!  I thought the pattern papers from the Let's Polka in the Meadow and Perfectly Plaid 6x6 pads from Lawn Fawn worked so well with this design too!!

Since this was a custom design card, I wanted to make it extra special like I always do with those, and finish off the inside to compliment the outside!!  And, I love the Lawn Fawn ink colors as they match the pattern papers perfectly!!  For a final tough I added some clear Wink of Stella to the rain drops and umbrella!

I love the softness of this card and hope the recipient does too!!  See you soon!!

National Craft Month Celebration Blog Hop

Hello my friends!!  Welcome to a fun blog hop celebrating National Craft Month!  All month long, crafters are taking pride that a whole month is dedicated to a hobby we love!  We all craft in different ways, and this blog hop is showcasing some of those fun creations!  I am thrilled to be taking part in this fun blog hop headed up by the fabulous Nicole of the Right At Home Shop.

For this blog hop, we are inspired to use what ever supplies we are loving, and my first love in card making is anything Lawn Fawn!  They are my tried and true stamp company!  I also know that Easter is coming up at the end of the month, so I thought it would be fun to create a fun springy-easter card
( no pun intended) teehee!  I usually don't make Easter cards, as I really don't have anyone to give them to, but I couldn't resist using the Lawn Fawn inks to create this fun jelly beans and to pair it up with the yummy new papers that Lawn Fawn has released in their Perfectly Plaid 6x6 papers!

For the jelly beans I used - Plastic Flamingo, Carrot, Juice Box, Sunflower, Jalapeno, Celery Stick, Butter and Merman! I die cut a piece of my favorite white card stock from the scallop rectangles dies from Lawn Fawn ( they are my favorite at the moment) as well as a piece of the plaid pattern paper that went SO well with the jelly bean background!

I took a piece of scrap white card stock and die cut a stitched circle, and also used some of the new Jalapeno card stock from LF, and die cut some grass using the grassy border die and then took that same stitched circle and die the grass as the bottom to fit my circle perfectly.  I took some Tumbled Glass distress ink and blended that onto the top portion of my circle to give it a sky look.

I, then stamped my hopping bunny and added a little color to him with C1, R20 and my colorless blender. I used the coordinating die to die cut him out and added some foam tape to the back.  I put all the elements together onto an A2 top fold Merman card base.  For my sentiment, I die cut a banner from the Large Journaling Card die set and stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and for some final touches, I added some Wink of Stella to a few of the jelly beans.

Isn't fun and colorful!!  Well, of course this is a celebration, and with a celebration, comes prizes!  You will have a chance to win some fun goodies by heading over the the RAH Blog!  This will take you directly to the blog post to enter!

Next up is my friend Laurel!  I am sure she has something fun to feast your eyes on as well!!  Have fun on the rest of the hop!  And, Happy National Craft Month!
