Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #45 Entry - Lots of Love

Hi friends - Today I am sharing with you my entry into the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge
We all have Valentine's Day on the brain, and I enjoy creating cards with a Valentine theme.

I will apologize now, because some of the products I used on my card are now retired from Lawn Fawn.  They are some of my favorite products though, and I wanted to use them in a creative way.

I started my card by using some distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, and Shaded Lilac and inked on the colors onto some white card stock.  Once I was happy with how the inking turned out, I die cut the panel using the Journaling Card die and the border heart die in the same set to create a window for a mini shaker.  You know I am keeping those little hearts that were left from die cutting for another project - they are too cute and very useful!  I also die cut another bigger heart a Lawn Fawn die set and inked it up with Picked Raspberry Distress ink.  For the shaker, I added some double sided adhesive around the area, and added some acetate, then added some foam adhesive.  For the shaker bits, I added some iridescent stars for some sparkle.  Once the shaker was completed, I stamped out my sentiment using the How You Bean? Conversation Hearts Add-on stamp set since it has a nice Happy Valentine's Day sentiment in it.  I also used the Happy Happy Happy Add-on set - and die cut the Happy sentiment after stamping it onto white card stock.  I mounted that to my Picked Raspberry heart with liquid adhesive.

To finish the card, I used papers from Gotta Have Gingham and Really Rainbow, and used my Large and Small Stitched Rectangle dies to add that finished faux stitching.  Once I added my shaker to my card, I added some finally details with a white gel pen, and a bit of shimmer with my Wink of Stella.

It was fun to come up with something for this challenge and use older products from Lawn Fawn.  Retired or not, I still love them!

Lawn Fawn Week Day 1

Hi friends!!  Welcome to a special series that I have put together to highlight one of my favorite stamp companies, Lawn Fawn!  I have been planning this idea for little over a month now, and today is the kick off of this fun week over at my blog and Youtube Channel.  I will have a video tutorial every day and even a collab with a special friend, and some fun prizes to giveaway too!!

First card I am showcasing features Simply Celebrate and the Really Rainbow 6x6 paper pad.  I thought these two would be a great fit for Day 1!

I started out by taking one of the papers from Really Rainbow and die cutting it down using the largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables.  I also die cut a piece of white card stock using the Stitched Cloud Backdrop:Landscape Die, and then taking that and die cutting that piece using the largest Fancy Scallop Circles Die.  I wanted to add a little blue to the background of my sky, so I simply used my BG10 Copic Marker, and filled in that area.  I stamped out the branch from Season's Tweetings, and using its die to cut it out, and I also stamped out the bird "lineup" from Simply Celebrate and used my Copics to color these birdies in rainbow colors of course.

I did trim off three of the birds on the end to have five of the birds on the front of the card, and the other three will be on the inside.  I stamped out my sentiment from Simply Sentiments onto a die cut banner from the Everyday Banners die set and I adhered it to my circle panel with liquid adhesive, and pop up the entire piece with foam adhesive.  I added the branch, and the birds also with liquid adhesive.  For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from Simply Sentiments and added my other birds to the right hand corner to finish it off.  If you'd like to check out the video tutorial, I have it linked for you.  All the supplies will be linked below as well!  Be sure to keep returning this week, especially for Day 4, as I will be doing my giveaway video!  See you then!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #23 - New Technique

Hi friends!! I am popping in today to share with you my entry for the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge which is to try a new technique you've never tried before - I have two that I incorporated onto my card.  I tried creating a watercolor wash ombre' background and adding shimmer splatter with Perfect Pearls.  Two seem to be easy, but it isn't usually my go to look and I actually love the way this card turned out!

I started out my card by taking a piece of watercolor paper and used some liquid watercolors and I created a purple into light purple ombre background.  Once my background was dry, I took some Perfect Pearls pigment powder in Perfect Pearl, and added a bit of water and created a small puddle of liquid shimmer and did a light splatter over the background.  And, once you hold up the card, you will see the shimmer catch the light.  It is very pretty.

Next, I cut down my background using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles die, and used the next to largest one in the set.  I, then chose some rainbow patterned paper from the new Really Rainbow 6x6 and created a scalloped pierced frame with an Avery Elle die set I have.  Next, I die cut some watercolor scraps I had in my stash, and used the Little Flowers die set, and created my pot of flowers, and the rainbow frame was the inspiration for bringing all of the colors together.  To create a grounding for my pot of flowers, I took a scrap piece of green cardstock, and added that to the back of my frame.  For my sentiment, I stamped the Sending Hugs sentiment from the new Simply Sentiments stamp set and stamped it out using LF Jet Black Ink.  Once I had all of my elements together, I used liquid adhesive to adhere them to my card, and for a final touch, I added white highlights to the pot, the flowers, and a faux stitched edge to the green "grounding" piece, and added it to a A2 size white card base.

Super Cheery and happy!!  Hope it brings a smile to your face today!!

See you soon!
